I was lucky last night that I had an unofficial ‘teammate’ if you will all over the place behind me preventing faster folks on no qual from being able to pressure. Good to see ya out @chuyler1!
"All over the place" definitely isn't my style, even when I'm not up to speed on the combo. I wasn't holding up anyone that could have made their way to the front. If I had to put my style into a phrase it would be "park it on the apex" lol.

Misunderstanding big time! Not you!
I was ahead of Fabio something in a red car, he was loosely goosey which was preventing DP from getting through!
I was specifically thinking of the red car.
I saw DP got a run on him 6-7 times but the red car kept sliding about...
I was in the black car if you have the replay, look me up I’m not what you think.

Nope you must use both.
I know, I'm saying it shouldn't be. Now everyone's on the same strategy rather than there being the potential for some variation.

Anyway! I'm sure you all know this, but pro-tip for going through the chicanes at Monza. If there are cars in front of you, you can't go through the chicanes at your normal speed or using your normal line. You will hit them, and they will go off.

Nope i prefer it as I have little interest in tyre preservation races, each to his own though.

Where are you guys shifting with the Mustang? I've been shifting around 7500 (or when the LED light bar reaches the right-side edge of the square box below it. Also, been doing BB -2... no clue if that's" ideal".

Haha yeah I was wondering if your eyes were on the mirror watching us. He kept making mistakes in spots I couldn’t pass without contact and I was ass out in a lot of spots trying to get momentum on him. Nearly had him multiple times, coming onto the back straight I had the run but he got really sideways and I had to abort.

I was constantly trying different lines opposite of his to get past. Trying to pressure him, he kept it on the road though lol.

Great hard/clean racing. I feel like most of the A’s know the danger at the Ring so everyone was being extra careful. I really wish it was 2-3 laps.

I could see on that replay I need to do better that last turn, you were set to walk me on the straight before the red car had that big slide forcing you to lift :)
I knew you were back behind him and he was not being fast where it’s important imo.
He was pushing entries trying to catch but compromising all your exits...I’m glad my ‘teammate’ helped me out.

Did three races at Monza from the back. First one went well, the other two were complete toilet. At least if you get taken out from the top 5 positions at the start of the race you're likely to re-join near other cars. and not 30 seconds off the lead.

Put in about 8 qualifying laps and have a 47.1. I think I'm getting back to DR A this week boys

@RacingGrandpa clued me into putting BB at 3 to the rear. I was running 5 to the front and having a terrible time. I've found much more success with 3 to the rear. I find it works best with a slow in fast out strategy on turns. The mustang just feel more balanced overall.

I am in AT, but running 3 in BB. 3 to the rear.

Wow, when I do that she wags a lot. hope i am remembering correctly though, lemmie check tonight. I don't get lock up at the front but too much rear I find instabilty on entry. but you need a wiggle to get around that second chicane, without it one is very cumbersome.

Monza only has six corners (five really since the Lesmos are basically the same) so it's as good a time as any to try and learn manual ;)
Oh, believe me, I have tried. Countless hours, actually.
When on a wheel I race MT no problem, but on the ds4 it's not in my muscle memory. I forget to shift, I shift too much etc etc.
When you are in your upper 50es it's hard to lear new tricks.

Just finished my first race with the Stang. Per Roam's instructions and others, I did RM at +3 to start. Man, the car just glides. Started P11 and got up to P4 by L8 when I pitted. Should have probably gone in a lap earlier. Came out P7 for final 2 laps and finished there, 30s back from P1. Got 2 damn orange down arrow dings for getting hit from behind and now my SR dropped a full 20 f*&%ing points. I feel like you get less SR deduction if you simply just ram someone for 4s penalty. Two incidents, not my fault, 20 points down. /vent

I run +3 (to the rear) as Roam and others and there are a few tricks to get the Stang to behave better.
Weight transfer is very important, always lift before turn-in. If needed coast past apex and power as soon after as possible. I find it rock solid, not sliding at all.

Hit most my goals yesterday, though didn’t touch Monza cuz Tokyo and Nurburgring have been too much fun. :)

Not only did I break a sub-2min quali lap after examining top times, my best time of the day (which is still my current quali time) was set to be safely in the 1:58s but I made a mess of my line in the corner leading into the final chicane, tapped the wall on the exit and lost what was easily five tenths. There was more time in the hairpin and the chicane as well, but neither were terrible, so now I’m sitting on a 1:59:094.

Racing quality in Tokyo went down on day two which caught me by surprise, a lot more barging around which made finishing consistency a bit more tricky. My new quali times and analysis of top times pushed me forwards on starts and helped improve my race pace. Finally got to stand on the top of the podium a few times :D

A couple races later I was matched with an A+ driver, figured I could only hope for 2nd at best:

Race starts and the A+ driver shifts poorly, we go two-wide into T1, I manage a clean pass with no contact, and I’m pulling away by the time we’re through the first complex of corners. Two others on his tail and all of a sudden this has turned into an exciting race.

...Until the hairpin:

Someone’s dive resulted in a five-car pileup on the exit that shoved me to the outer wall. I will say I had one of the luckier outcomes, but it still cost me a few spots (including the lead) and a lot of speed. I clawed back up to 3rd at the start of the next lap with help from the slipstream and other’s mistakes, but then both me and and P2 made an identical error leaving the first complex that lands us with a 5s penalty. Poor girl (I assume with her username) got punted by the white car on the straight right after serving and then got handed another 2s for some reason.

I entered the chicane right behind the white car, but he took it excessively slow (I’m able to enter in the 70s, he kept braking to around 60mph), so with nowhere to go I shunted him. I felt bad but I don’t know what I could have done to avoid it, proximity was very close for any sort of reaction and he went far slower than what I understand the corner should be taken at (I can upload the replay later if people want to analyze it). Not much else of note happened till the final run if the chicane, where I cut a little too far on the sausage and launched the car wide, the slower exit speed costing me 4th in the drag race to the line.

Went to SR B in one race, where I haven’t been for at least a year.

All races since then have had me stuck in the SR B-A range, it looks like people that sit there are largely clean but tend to defend excessively, and try to bump draft rather than go around. I usually rear end or get rear ended once or twice and it’s just enough to prevent my SR to climb back steadily, a bit frustrating. My DR has almost climbed back to where it was before last week’s tank, so I’m still looking forward to the next few days.

I just finished 2nd to a B rated driver in race B. His race time was 7:55.8

Checked his KP and he's done 27 races, has 27 poles, 27 FLs and 27 wins. Yeah...

Does anyone have a clue who's racing on the IGTL_Official_1 account?
Presumably it's one of the three organizers of https://twitter.com/igtleague ? At least two of them have been to GT World Championship events, so they're definitely quite rapid.
