Can't wait to see how many thousand DR I lose...
Edit: Didn't lose any... does the game now void DR loss for disconnections?
That’s a bit depressing. I was almost at A with 27k DR earlier in the week but that dropped due to a few bad races. I was shocked at the amount of poor sportsmanship in the Nations Cup the other day. I can’t see myself ever making that level unless I dedicate a huge amount of time to it and get a wheel. It doesn't get much better until you're well into A, about 40k DR from my own experience.
The folks fighting to stay in A and the folks fighting to get into A on the cutline at 30k DR will do just about anything to make a pass or retaliate. Once you get past that point it seems like people have greater respect for fellow racers.

Next week's are up:
A - Alsace II - N200 - 3 laps
B - Laguna Seca - Gr.4 - 5 laps
C - Fuji - Gr.3 - 12 laps - Fuel x2, Tyres X8 RM with mandatory RH
Does that mean mandatory use of both tyres? Hopefully some strategy in Race C again!
Thanks. I don’t really like Fuji but I seem to be fairly good at it and I like longer races so I’m happy with race C.Next week's are up:

It means you have to use the Hard tyres at some point. But still .... actual strategy in race C for once!

Could also be that it hasn't updated yet and won't until you finish another race but who knows, it could be as you say and it could also be a new glitch.![]()

The length of the race is immaterial. It's how many drivers you beat vs how many beat you, and what their DR and your DR scores are. The higher their DR, the more you gain from beating them, the lower it is the more you lose from them beating you.Curious question regarding the mysteries of the DR points system. Does doing Race A vs B vs C change how many points you get because of the length of the races? Or if you finish first in the same field of rated drivers the points gained would be the same for each? Trying to get to A, and A+, and it would be helpful to know! Thanks!
The worst rooms to be in are on the cut line from B to A rank those guys are nuts. B drivers fighting to reach A meanwhile A drivers doing everything in their power not to fall back to B. Gets pretty crazy out there you better be starting up front! Get a great qualifying time and be consistent with that time.
Once you get a good foothold on A rank lobbies get much better, cleaner and you can actually start applying some of that race craft you've learned and have some fun with it.
How my daily races went yesterday about 5-6 races finish top 2-3 every race then get a disconnect and there goes the momentum back to where I started 3 hours ago.
You sound like you're about the same level as I am. Dragon Trail seems to be awful for ramming and I honestly think I had cleaner racing midway between B & A.I'm a longtime "B/S" driver who was inching very close to A/S rating. Then today, along came Dragon Tail Garden -- Race B. Not my worst track by a long shot. But about 6 or 7 races later, I found myself at C/E!!
I honestly wasn't trying to be too aggressive and never intentionally punted anyone. Started with a few races with bogus (I thought) penalties, and my SR plummeted. Then it was a quick downward spiral. When you get down into the C or worse rooms (both DR and SR) it's the wild west. Total free for all. HELP! (I was C/C when I quit for the day. Hoping for betters days this week.)

In principle, Races B and C would have more points available because there's more drivers to beat. There's also the potential to lose more, because there's more drivers to beat you. However, it depends on what the difference is between your DR and their is. Losing to a 19 drivers with worse DR than you is a worst case scenario. Beating 19 drivers with a better DR than you is a best case scenario.
This one incident made my night. I was chuckling all the way down the straight after seeing this. XD

If you truly have the pace to be a solid A driver, I'd stop racing the dailies and just hit FIA. JMO. I stopped racing the dailies on my main account (for the second time) after I got booted down to 27.5K and less than 99 SR a while back, and I've slowly climbed to 37.5K since. The racing is a bit cleaner and less desperate because of the longer race times.
The other thing that happens in NA when you are a lower A or high B rating for the dailies is that your rooms are A+ through B a lot of the time, so a solid qualifying time might start you middle of the pack with little opportunity to gain DR.
How about daily races where there are no points involved?
There aren’t any, all Daily and FIA races involve DR/SR points. Only lobby races don’t.
Totally agree with you. I committed to this a few weeks ago, and saw 9 straight 'days' of increased DR... was working like a charm. I broke down and jumped into some Dailies again, and, well, 2 steps forward, 1 step back again. Gonna have to re-commit to the concept or start a second account, which I didn't want to do (a lot of additional investment, and summer is here, so probably not happening). If you truly have the pace to be a solid A driver, I'd stop racing the dailies and just hit FIA. yep same thing happen to me the other day leading by 3 sec half way through race game just froze at the elbow before final 90 degree turn. had to reboot my rankings were the same until i entered next race was at A/A went down to B/CUnfortunately you did lose dr and sr, It show when you complete next race![]()
daily's with no points would be way worse. Everyone remember the quick races in GT6 or 5 maybe it was 7 or are we on 7 LOL. But it was carnage every where rarely would there be an actual clean race in those you would have players just disrupting the race for the sake of doing it. It was awfulThere aren’t any, all Daily and FIA races involve DR/SR points. Only lobby races don’t.
Does anyone know the difference between the TS050 and R18 '16s lap times? I always struggle with the Audi's hybrid and the way it kicks in so I've been using the Toyota's easier system. Got a 27.2 (.4 off optimal) but I'm getting pretty close to my limit in that car and have nobody to compare to. Everyone's qualifying in the Audi.
I don't want to learn the Audi but if it's a fair bit quicker than the Toyota, I guess I might have to.

I will add that although race length doesn't affect DR, SR is calculated per sector. Thus there is more SR to be gained in a long race than a short one if you can manage to get a clean race. The length of the race is immaterial. Not sure on the differances, but ive only been using the TS050. Just ran another 45min of quali and im down to a 1.27.355 with an opt 1.26.940 so pretty close ( 27k DR )
I think you're right, it makes sense as I don't remember it being this bad when I first started the game in the lower levels.I'd laugh too, but I've been the guy on the inside who plugged that wall before! Then again, I probably laughed at myself that time. It is so tempting to grab a big chunk of that curb and challenge the wall, if you get the car rotated on that final curve ahead of the usual spot... but can be deadly! (PS: I really like that track, it is a great one for risk/reward in other areas too... and challenging in terms of lap times. That last complex for example, is really fun... cresting the hill, so the first apex is deceptively tricky, and the slight straight section of track that separates the two corners make it ~just~ that tricky to get right... you can't be lazy in that section if you want to pass or make optimum time through it).
I'm convinced of the glass wall at the B/A split... been there on the precipice a few times, and each time suffer the worst racing I've seen, in Dailies and FIA events. It's a piranha pool. Stands to reason, if people who are under want desperately to get that "A" and those who are already there don't want to step back. But in reality it doesn't mean anything, as the points are the points and you get matched with A and B drivers on either side of the break point anyway. Hoping I can punch through it some time to stay above it and then climb a bit farther, where I would hope to race with fewer hacks and bombers, and more legitimate sporting racers who respect each other.
Good work! This is encouraging for me as my best time for Dragon Trail Gardens is 1:31.911 in the AMG which I think is 2 seconds off the top time. I'm at 24k DR after a few horrific races over the last few days, so this gives me some hope.Wow i was wrong about the Atenza at Gardens, proving to be the fastest car I have used. I ran one race in the mid 32's which is right on the edge for me anyway as I qualied with a 32.4.
Having some deathly boring races for some reason, top 2 to 3 are a smidge too fast, cannot quite catch them, rest are too slow.
Weird. Still, slowly getting that DR to 35K which is about 10K more than my true pace but I keep my nose clean and see trouble coming. As an example, I saw the leader take a huge spin and he returned to the track just ahead of me, I could have passed him if I forced the issue but remember he qualified with like a 1.31.1 and would just re-pas me so figured let him be and see if he can slow the 3 guys in front of me down as they squabble.
Sure enough, I finish second as one guy fell off the road and the other was massively slowed down during predicted squabbles.
