Did some damage control today, first race was a pole to win without much drama. After that I got a lobby that was half A/half B. I qualifieth 6th while me beeing mid DR B, ended 6th in the end as well after having some really intense midpack battles. Alot cleaner then yesterday, not going to push my luck with this later in the afternoon:D

Just had my first rage quit in a long time.

Race C, started 8th in the R92CP. Nudged off track into gravel and car span. Once I got back on track, 15sec behind the leader. Caught up with second last but got punted on last sharp corner and received a 4 sec penalty. Infuriating!!

Played again though and came 4th and clean race bonus. Just luck of the draw in these lobbies.

A bit off topic but thoughts please.

After having so much fun today on the FIA Nationals, varied mix of cars and refreshing from race cars, it got me thinking.

PD should create a daily race D, on which it is a roulette style for the car choice. Take any of the 'N' classes. For example, when you enter the race, you will be given one of the cars that belong to that class to race with at complete random. This would make the racing extremely varied and a lot more interesting and fun I think.

I enjoy the daily races bit I find myself purposefully choosing a car that nobody else chooses just for the variety of driving different cars. Take race C his week for example, nearly every race about 3/4 of the field are in TS050's and it gets a bit boring.

The same with the Group 4 daily the last few weeks, it's been RCZ or TT. There are so many cars in the game with so many different strengths/weaknesses and driving styles that need to be adopted to get the best out of some cars. A random car given for a daily race would make it exciting and allow more people to experience more of the cars the game has to offer.

There was talk on here the other day about using alt acc from the back in daily races. I have said i used my sons account, but no more will I be doing this after today. Its just not right. Im back battling to get back into A rank and progress hopfuly.

Everytime i get into the split A / B lobbies there is someone A ranked starting with no QT. Clearly in on alt acc due to lap times. The carnage these fast guys cause is just an pain in the arse to deal with while trying to survive the regular mid pack. All Sport is leveled out for a reason, its best that way for everyone.

Am still loving race C thou just cant nail that A / B split lobby race were i start 13th..

People sure don't like it when you outsmart them and/or can beat them with an underdog.

Would have been up in 8th, but a Peugeot 908 punts me at the 90degree left after the back "straight". Got me 2 seconds.

I kept chipping away at a 919 before I pitted. It knew to keep moving on the inside line and let me pass on the front straight. I in turn gave it room to navigate T1 for the overtake lap after lap. Was able to keep the TS050s behind at 3 second gaps each lap.
Pit lap 9. Come out behind the 908. Took one lap to over take it around the outside of the bell tower corner. Lap 13, it does its dirty. Oh well. 14/20 with a mix of VGT cars and the LMPs. A Bugatti was behind me at the start.

Oh, next race I enter(in the TS050) and quit(was only 8 players). However, a player that was in my last race chose the 787B. ;)

I don't know why they don't just do similar to what they've always done since the beginning and have like an American shootout or Japan, UK, turbo, N/A like they have in career mode instead of some of these terrible combos in the dailies.

It's risky not picking the best car I suffered badly because of it in today's Nations race! I had fun though, a lot more fun then if I'd chose to drive the META.

What a complete waste of time looking for DR points. In race B I qualified last, P16, finished P7 and gain 300pts. All BS rated. . yay

That would be about what you should get. Just above half way up the field at finish should be a small positive gain. Remember that the point system doesn't care how may places you gain or lose during the race, it is entirely based on your position on the final results board. On average, the back half of the field will lose DR and the front half will gain, with the loss or gain increasing the closer you get to the bottom or top.
I did a race B last night, P13 > P8 for a gain of 5 DR points. Again about what to expect, halfway up the field the gain or loss should be close to zero.

I rerally dislike qualifying and this is why. There are good and bad races. But dang, just give some space and respect. The F1 got by me because cars ahead were holding us up from the start. I didnt try to dive the F1, as slow as it was, in the corners. I get 1 second because the Audi hit the kerb and ghost spun in front of me.
THe F1 has two cars next to it and I'm braking for Seaside hairpin. I am at the apex and still get nudged. The F1 was waaayyy back and with its poor brakes, it should have slowed up earlier. ANyway, it's slow from there through the esses and into the Four Brothers. I shoved my way past. Bump that! I also definded intpo the final turns and it was again trying to get up the inside. This is why I've stopped qualifying. ruins the good progress races.

There was an RC F that started in the top three or something and it's nowhere at the end. That sucks.

Edit: Much cleaner.

like thats an excuse for pushing me off the track and taking the win. we battled for 4 laps before that BS move.

only penalty out of all that was given to me for getting totaled at the hairpin. i cant even put into words anymore how disappointed i am with what the penalty system has become..if you can even call it that anymore.

Learned the hard way that you should rely on fuel warnings. Race B out of gas lap 9. All other times worked fine.

Ah got it. What a large amount of work for so little gain.

The penalty system is getting out of hand. I find a lot about race C this week really fun. Getting 3 seconds of penalties on lap 1 for 3 races in a row because 🤬 behind cant use brakes is a bit soul crushing. I even got a 1 sec because the moron behind me in the 908 hit full tilt, and ran straight into the back of me. No braking, no coasting, tapped me before all that. Doing well with the no stop as I can keep lapping in low 1:30 to mid 1:29 most of the time. Just a pain trying to do it through traffic after serving someone else's penalty.

I have survived, so it is on to next week.:dopey:

That makes a lot of sense, I like the idea, themed like career mode.

I did the Nations with the GT40 (1966). It performed well and I came 3rd. Half the field were X Bows though...

Haven't been racing online as long as some. Don't think I've come across daily Race C, Fuji, Gr.3.

Anyone know roughly what kind of times the top 10 were doing last time they did this combo?

I think I've only done Gr.2 at Fuji. Never Gr.3

There was a Gr 3 race B at Fuji maybe a month ago. Aliens were running low 1:37s on hard tires. So probably high 35s on mediums I’d guess.

As I said above, you cannot pass there. Ends in tear. If in a battle always take the inside.

That's unless you're racing me and I leave you space, see from the 5.30 mark ......

Did a quick race in the morning, started 8. and finished first :)

Got promoted from D rating to C :)

It's nice to get promoted. The first pass in the chikane is a little shady but cars are ghosting left and right so I see how you are thinking and the game kind of fosters new players to race that aggressive.
But now that you are in C no one ghosts so it's time to be more careful when passing and with where you pass. Anyone you pass while bumping them will think of you as dirty.

Oof, yea not great idea to pass here, and despite leaving space, the in and out of those corners are tricky and slippery!

I am consistently faster than people in my lobbies at that whole section, and only pass when I’m flying, and there’s a big space. Even then it’s super risky.

Better to wait for the long corner, which is just as risky/tricky. I’ve had many smooth passes here, but only when I’ve seen awareness from the other driver. Other wise your in trouble!

preferably wait to overtake on exit into the straight. Chances are your going to come out cleaner for the exit, if your faster on those turns, and staying tight.

Unfortunately it’s like this for me in most situations like this, where staying tight and defending, is better for everyone, rather than leaving space, because you’ll generally get pushed off. But when you leave space and it’s clean, it creates a bond on the track. Roll the dice!

Rough, sorry bud!
