There was a Gr 3 race B at Fuji maybe a month ago. Aliens were running low 1:37s on hard tires. So probably high 35s on mediums I’d guess.

Cheers. Will see how that goes, off work this week. But if they're running those kinds of times, definitely going to be running towards the back this week.

For the love of the racing, I'll probably still do some races. Fuji will probably be the track that takes me back to DR. B.

It's nice to get promoted. The first pass in the chikane is a little shady but cars are ghosting left and right so I see how you are thinking and the game kind of fosters new players to race that aggressive.
But now that you are in C no one ghosts so it's time to be more careful when passing and with where you pass. Anyone you pass while bumping them will think of you as dirty.

Well I got bumped from behind so I entered in path of the front car, I don't think I could avoided it.
So there is no ghosting in C rating? Oh my :D

Did a quick race in the morning, started 8. and finished first :)

Got promoted from D rating to C :)

I cannot see your times but you are miles ahead of those guys. Their lines are all over the place, you are far smoother. You will be in DR B soon enough, should smoke DR-C pretty easily. B is a wide band, bottom end still a bit sketchy but by the top most guys are pretty decent.

1:34 cca all laps except first one, 1:33:800 was my best qualification lap.
Well I hope that I will progress, but I am limited with time to play :(

The higher your DR, the harder it is to continue to gain DR, I’ve had win for 50 whole points before, and lost points for 2nd/3rd place finishes. The strength of the room plays a big part too, the faster the room, the more points that are available.

Thanks.

Hey Pigems, just curious, looking at my past pts, was this a glitch or how did I jump 5000+pts in 1 day? I've also gained and dropped 3000pts at one time. Never payed attention back then.

What a massive difference in race C today. Checked the race C replay from last night, and I was 2nd worst fuel in the group. Noticed everyone is short shifting, and I'm doing the exact opposite, buzzing near redline. Ran today short shifting, if half hybrid trail braking to prevent getting punted and made it 12.5 laps. P7 to P4. Was P2 on lap 11 but I was still conserving and P3/4 came out of the pits. Everyone fueled by lap 10.

Edit: Dicey last lap. Didn't bother defending P4 but luckily they ran wide.

Got a nice little "Disconnected from network" trying to join Race C just now, RIP my DR points

Edit: miraculously I didn't lose any DR or SR for this? I guess you have to actually get to the warm up to count as "entered"?

Anyway the 15:30 race was a **** show, got murdered into T1 from P6 on the grid and shuffled back to 14th or so, slow recovery from there to finish 7th. :(

16:00 was much better, start 10th, avoided the T1 missile launched from behind who took out 8th and 9th, settled in to saving fuel in the draft, spun once by mistake that cost me 5 seconds which would eventually prove important as someone on the pit stop strategy managed to get by me on lap 12 and finish 2 seconds ahead. Back to back 7th place.

I'm no expert but looking at your video, if I may, try slightly slower entry and getting on the gas harder as well as using more kerb and more road, really swing wide. That 33.8 should drop to a 33 flat even by just riding over the sausage kerbs.

What an eventful day of Race B. DTG is statistically my best track, as I always seem to do well there. For most of the week my qualy time was stuck in the 1:33's but I seemed to be able to finish higher than my starting position. I get my qualifying time down to the low 1:33's this morning and my starting position moves up. No win, but several podiums.

I finally got my Race B qualifying time into the 1:32's and what happens? I get stuck into a lobby where I'm just as likely to finish P1 as P16. Seriously, there was something like 1.5 sec between first and last on the starting grid. Of course, being that my SR had just dropped to 95, the "race" was more of a demolition derby and I exit the carnage with my SR at 81! :banghead:

I spend the next three races climbing out of SR hell. I think I'm good for today. SR is back to 99 and I'm spent. Maybe I'll hot lap the upcoming FIA races later but I seriously need a break now.

Slightly off topic, but I just got Wreckfest and it’s really satisfying after the carnage of Dragon Trail Gardens this week. I feel cleansed.

And whilst it’s not quite GT Sport, the driving physics are surprisingly not a million miles off. Really good fun game. You can even use a clutch.

I actually had a really fun Daily Race today, after the Supra race. I was shocked. I thought I was making a big mistake by trying ~just one~ daily.

I haven’t put in a great QT at the Dragons Trail Race, just enough to hit my K’ target, and Sunday nights are usually the worst. But lo and behold, starting from the back, ran up to 4th place and had an epic clean battle at fast pace, with a handful of good clean drivers. One of the best I’ve ever been part of. It was so fun.

Afterward one of the guys, the guy who was on my bumper for a good share of it, called me trash, which was a bummer, but I’m pretty sure he mistook me for someone who hit him. That’s why I am done calling out people in the chat. I’ve been wrong before too.

But the race was fantastic and ended My weekend on a good note. I’d have had 3rd place by almost a second, if I didn’t get over zealous and cut the first sausage curb at the first chicane… 0.5 sec penalty on the last lap meant 1.0 at the line, and that meant down to 6th in that close race, (Even with #2 ended up with positive DR) but anyway it was a blast and it’s those races that keep me coming back.

Did my normal quick go to see what's what with Daily Race C this morning, and it seems like a 1 stop to me. No fuel worries at all.

I chose the Beetle because I thought the good tyre wear would work in the race, but I am guessing the Lambo or Nissan will work for qualifying as they are quicker in a straight line.

I started on mediums and pitted for hards on lap 9, but I think that was a couple of laps too late. Guessing something like 7 laps of mediums and then 5 on hards (you need to use both so no no-stop races), or maybe the other way round. Difference in the tyres seemed like about 0.75 secs, so you might be able to hold on to a racer on softer tyres if you hook up the last twisty section of the race.

Just seen @pantherjag has his strategy guide up for the race so is worth a look 👍

I got punted into someone at Fuji T1 at twice the speed of sound.

The person who went off got himself lapped twice to try and run me off the road as retaliation.

I don't speak Japanese so hopefully he will check the replay.
Im guessing race C is one make GTR cup?

Managed my second Race C of the week last night, was going to try a lesser fancied car, but chickened out and stuck with the Toyota. Was very surprised to be starting 6th, having not run that many laps, and was even more surprised to see a Nismo GT-R starting in 4th! Of course he went backwards immediately, and I spent a lot of the race in 5th, with a big gap ahead and behind, although it turned out all 4 in front weren't fuel saving, and I ended up 3rd. I'd narrowly passed P1 and 2 when they came out of the pits, but they were definitely too fast for me to keep behind. I ran out of fuel just before the line, but had no problem keeping position as I coasted across the line. SR still at 99, and DR up to 16.6k, highest it's ever been!

Thanks for this.
I'm quite fond of the Viper so I might give it a go here.

Track guide for Laguna Seca

Note: Yes it's on different tyres as it's from a few weeks ago but the track guide points out a lot of markers on each corner so you can pick out your preferred brake marker for your preferred car :)
