To give an impression of the impending carnage you will all face at the start of Race C... this was in an A/S race.

The last few times I've done Race C, I either didn't bother qualifying, or I qualified on the worse of the 2 tire compounds. Looks like I won't bother qualifying for this either...

My week will probably be busy with other things, but hopefully I can at least do this combo a few times. The RB Jrs are some of my favorite cars in the game.

Not sure I can improve on this but I assume all the experience drivers have cone markers turned off? I would really like to learn to use other markers that don't get wiped out during races. This is one of my bigger causes for braking late, causing punts or over shoots. I know there's lots of race guides like Tidgney's, but I'm using my living room tv and sit 15ft away, and makes it super easy to miss markers.
I use the blue driving markers. They're immovable and up high where you can see them. Being up high gives you other benefits too. One, they force you to look up and out ahead where you should be looking and two, you can line them up against more distant objects giving you more choices in markers.

But hey, at least I made a comeback to 4th.

I used cones for a long time, finally decided to turn them off for good a few months back. It was a painful process to say the least, when your mind is used to looking for those bright orange trackside obstacles, it’s hard to see all the other markers you could be using. Most of the braking zones have board markers, and most of the time your mark will be between the 100 and 150 markers. Don’t let a few bad runs deter you, it will feel like you are driving blind the first couple races, but keep at it, it’s better without them.

Re the topic of driving quality...I was in a race at Gardens in gr4 a while back...
I was running second for 2 laps, hot on the tail of one of my South American friends.
I passed him at turn 4 clean, in the wrx. He was running I think Ferrari...
Anyways he dove on me on entry on the penultimate lap into the final 2 lefts.
I saw it coming and closed the door, but he was hell bent and we banged. We continued to bang until I offed us both in the triple right and we lost five spots.
We got going again and I brake checked him into the final turn, he ended up in the wall in between the last two turns and I finished ahead.
S to B sr for us.
He began messaging me saying he had inside on his first move which triggered my rage.
We went back and forth quite a bit in messages. He dove, showed very clear on replay. He tried to intimidate me but I held my ground in the chat. No name calling, just assertiveness.
Looked him up and irl he’s a pro who races formula cars.
I’ve raced him in the game several times after and neither of us played dirty.
Be careful who you screw with, sometimes it might not be just a random gamer.
That said that’s how I race. I don’t put up with crap and I’ll ruin my race to ruin yours if I believe you are cheating.
This policy has worked well for me, but anymore it takes a LOT for me to go into Psycho Mode.
For this game I had a goal on dr and I reached it, my number one intent is to have clean competitive races. I enter races that look fun, and don’t care about dr anymore just sr.
To me dr doesn’t matter, except to match you competitively. No reason to care if you start first or last really as long as you find a good race.
The daily selections haven’t been good for me for this will be 3 weeks running.
I don’t do Monza.

I use "Corner Indicators" (the floating blue things). They don't give braking points, only turn in, apex and exit markers. On the other hand I regularly race with drivers much faster than myself who use cones and even one who recommends driving line. I turned off cones when I found I was crashing due to cones being cleaned up by other drivers.

What do we have to be careful about? He's a looser if as a professional driver he drives dirty. I guess we all have good days and bad days, but I think it doesn't excuse him and tbh it makes him even more responsible.
I don't know who that guy was, but if a guy dives on me in a corner and then starts messaging, it could be an incognito or Lewis Hamilton, I'd still think he's a looser...

Be careful because they might be pretty good at dirty driving lol.
I found until I raced at low sr I was crap at being dirty, but low sr rooms fixed that so now I’m good st it, but even so, there’s times you run across people who are also good, and the lowest feeling in this game is going dirty and STILL getting punked!
My friends from South America have doled out a lot of that mental anguish to me over the years :).

It's quite ridiculous tbh :D I can't believe a pro driver being a pig on a game just cos he thinks nobody will know it's him... What a great example :D Call him out on a tweet with video and @driversname and maybe he will feel stupid lol

Couple of good B races so far, clean.

Nudged off t1 last lap in one and finished last, but I was way to passive and really encouraged a lunge.

Qualified 2nd - finished 2nd in low B tier. Nice clean racing there, that bracket in top 5 is a good place to be, for me :) as long as lap 1 is smooth

edit - race B (not C, bad race there for me lol)

Re line and cones, I use them until I have the track totally wired which usually takes many many laps/weeks/months.
On wheel the line helps sooo much imo.
Only after you know the EXACT line PERFECT, then turn it off. You need to know EXACTLY where the braking and turn ins are, where the grip is.
Tracks like Maggiore GP, Interlagos, Fuji,
Catalunya, the line is worth a second and a half a lap easily.
I’d say use it use it use it UNTIL you have it stone cold wired. STONE COLD WIRED.
Lol. That takes time but once you get it wired...

I don’t do that Mano, what happens in sport mode stays in sport mode lol.

I have chirped several people who hit me with the "i race real cars."

Its like yeah and i dont give a **** buddy you are still a clown on GT. Somehow them saying they go racing for real is supposed to convince me that pushing me off the track isn't dirty and they are in the right because again they race in real life. Its laughable. I expect way more from somebody with track experience.

Enjoying race B at Autopolis, every type of Gr3 car racing, so refreshing after a lot of races being narrowed down to a few cars.

I've gave the RS01 a try for the first time and Iam going to just stick with it for now, had a few clean races with top 5 spots and I really like how the car drives.

"i race real cars."
Agreed, it's totally irrelevant in its own. The only meaning should be the expectance of higher quality on-track-behaviour. If he/she lacks that...

What irritates me more: the marketing fairy tales. About the poor young child who goes to the top of the world from his little screen and kitchen chair, with a game. Yes, sure. And with some hundreds of kms experience in real life cars/tracks - which turns out sooner or later.

Unless they make their living racing cars, it doesn’t mean much. Anyone with the money can buy a track car and take it to track days or weekend races, but it doesn’t mean they’re any good at it.

Right here's an example of a common dirty move at Fuji that most seem to think is fine (due to amount of times it happens).

But if you watch this you can see how much I lost because of it and it'd been more without a risky move.

Or a number of risky moves later in the race, would have been so easy to have a big accident at some point.

Just shows how one very minor thing can shape an entire race (and possibly cause a load of accidents that wouldn't of happened otherwise).

:gtpflag:

I was in the yellow AMG - hopefully I did not make any move that ruined your race. The Italian driving the purple 911 was very dirty during that race, ruining a few people races with overoptimistic moves. I was so pissed off at some point that I wanted to punt him off into oblivion, but I thought I might catch somebody else in my revenge and let it go...

Okay race C this week must be one of the worst dailies ever?
Like those cars and those kerbs this is awful
Im trying to learn how to be quick and consistent with them and bloody hell it's a challenge my quali lap is a fluke and now I'm just hoping to survive races

Ran a couple of laps warm up but not qualifying for race C. Took my alt out so I wouldnt get grumpy with the guaranteed carnage. Was in a race with Lester on pole. Actually moved up well at the start until the pushing and shoving started. Lost it when I was passing heading into Ascari and the driver backed off way early, got behind me and tried to go inside, when I am already pushing track limits .
Went off. Managed to spin myself out next lap on lesmo 2. 9 sec behind the field:lol:.

Ended up running back to p9 as everyone bar the top 5 was all over the place. Then made an optimistic pass on someone who held the outside in lesmo 1 by banging my door a lot. I stayed in it into 2 but caught curb and bounced them off so had to wait. Came pretty close to getting lapped at that point. Oddly there was no penalty for any of those. Definitely a warzone there this week. Me thinks it is hot laps only.

When you put in the work to get what you think are nice QT, and better than your Kudosprime targets for the week, only to see your reward is to be matched with THE guy who has the top time in the world!

Oh well, held my own in that Race B, and had a decent time in first try at Race C... would have been a little better if not punted in Parabolica on L1 (which there is no excuse for... I brake as late as anyone there, and had already gotten through the gauntlet of people serving penalties for the predictable mess in the chicane, on lap one. And make no mistake: there will be carnage there. It's a joke. Shame really, because the RBR Jr and Monza make for a fun race, I think. I would enjoy more, if it wasn't for the likely disasters as the week goes on, and people luck into better QT. But it is a fun combo IMO.

Got all three of my K' targets, with some cushions to deal with the faster laps that will no doubt come in. Added positive DR after one Race B and one Race C... not going to risk much more after a go in Race A in a bit.

Lap guide for Autodromo: DON'T OVER DRIVE IT IN T1. That is all.

EDIT: ran Daily A. Total mistake. Some Idiots from south of the equator ruined my race, and it seems too easy to do with those cars. After a couple of nice races in B and C, where I bumped by DR up to just under the A line again, right back where I started the day. And have to fix -8 SR hit that was just defending myself once I saw how things were gonna go in that race. Stay away.
