This week has treated me well, after the rage of dragon trail gardens, where I got frustrated caused a few accidents on the final day and went down from 68k to 40k Dr
Not the first reset I've dealt with, not the worse as you can see and probably won't be the last, cos I race people the way they race me so if they barge past I'll be forceful if I can make a move back just to show how much I admired their move, but majority of the time I'm social distancing as best I can on the game with zero contact if I can help it

I'm now pretty much where I should be again.
Not gonna lie I think I had Fuji mastered, I couldn't beat the elite, but the majority I found online when I played, I usually was successfull, for example tonight I jumped on and won all 4 races none from pole cos I suck at qualifying and all with different strategies was good fun

My goal is to get to 70k convincingly hoping whatever the next combo clicks well with me like Fuji with the viper

After winning finally on Laguna Secway, this week, I got some hate message from the guy behind me.

Let me explain the situation :
I've been watching youtubers and real sim racers on GT sport how they play and realised I wasn't good at defending my position and I let the car overtake and then next time I get a chance, I can't overtake them because I try and avoid any contact or "forced" overtakes.
Found a few videos of some guys explaning how you could defend yourself and one easy tip was being in the inside every corner.
Of course, that doesn't mean diving if there are people already turning and just trying to find my way, but when in a position like I was, getting in the inside even if that involves slowing harder.

This guy got livid, tried to overtake me by breaking earlier and all sorts but couldn't overtake me.
Tbh I was glad I finally found a way.
I didn't do any zigzag or so but he messaged me saying it was dangerous driving.

So I just thought to myself, was this guy livid, or is defending like I was "illegal".

I don't think I have used the classical racing line in the whole race or almost, as I was doing all I could to say on the inside, when he was going on the normal fast lane.

Not sure I can improve on this but I assume all the experience drivers have cone markers turned off? I would really like to learn to use other markers that don't get wiped out during races. This is one of my bigger causes for braking late, causing punts or over shoots. I know there's lots of race guides like Tidgney's, but I'm using my living room tv and sit 15ft away, and makes it super easy to miss markers.

My personal tip and I do still use cone markers from time to time.
When you jump in a weekly race, don't straight go for the race.
Go in qualifying time and make laps with cone markers on, have a notepad, and then go in 2nd gear, watch every corner what you could see as a marker instead of your double cones and note it down.
Make one lap slow without cone markers in order and then get going and the faster you will go, the best your laps will go, and you won't need cone markers anymore for that track you have been working on.

I saw a post a few days ago, can't remember who it was, that wondered if you could glitch start in these races as they saw someone do it in an FIA race. Well yes you can. :(

I don't know what they did but as you can see the game thinks they are still in the pits, so their car does not start at the correct time causing a pile up and the front few cars to have a massive head start. :banghead:

Also here's a revenge takedown video.

Of course it's not worthy of a max penalty, only little accidental taps are bad enough to get 4 seconds. :boggled:

Just gave Daily Race C a try and it's a laugh, although I wouldn't recommend it if you want clean driving. Grid start and long slipstream run to the "1st" chicane means you will get the "sorry, my tires are cold" punt. Then you might get a couple of clean corners before the 2nd "oops, I missed my braking point" zone into Ascari. Then a quick blast down to the last "sorry, I misjudged the slipstream" at parabolica. Repeat as required.

Strangely the bit that killed me was a side-swipe going through Curva Grande, which I imagine is very easy to do with the twitchy steering on this car. And try not to hit the kerbs too violently through the chicanes as they will bounce you off the track if you aren't careful. I still think there is an issue in this game with momentum on rear wheels when you let off the power, but maybe that is just me.

Go in with a racing mindset and I think you are in for a frustrating time, but go in for a laugh and you will be ok. No pit or fuel stop required, but you might want to push your brake balance forward to about -3 to try and balance tyre wear a bit.

I did a couple of laps at Race B at Autopolis, just to try and get a non-mr car into the top 10 (Mitsubishi Lancer ftw!) but I imagine it will be all Audi R8's soon enough.

Right here's an example of a common dirty move at Fuji that most seem to think is fine (due to amount of times it happens).

But if you watch this you can see how much I lost because of it and it'd been more without a risky move.

Or a number of risky moves later in the race, would have been so easy to have a big accident at some point.

Just shows how one very minor thing can shape an entire race (and possibly cause a load of accidents that wouldn't of happened otherwise).

 thats real love... Also great skill in bombing. I noticed that in SR A and B races were very clean, yesterday I jumped back to SR S, one race and again in A... I dont care

I would love to help but most of my braking zones I just get the feel for it
I wish I knew where I braked half the time haha

I race without cones one because I don't need them and 2 before I realised they could be turned off I lost like 3 races in a row where a cone went under the car and launched me into Narnia

Carnage you say this week? Looks like I am in! 👍

Since I killed my DR/SR in recent weeks and not really caring the fact they put two favourite cars up (Clio and Red Bull Junior) I will have a go at racing this week as I finally figured out what's been going wrong with my driving the past few weeks, I have a broken PS4 controller!.

The one I've been using the thumb sticks are "stuck" in so my car always ends up steering unexpectedly or not accelerating/braking properly so I will have to live with it until "pay day" but once I get my new one I should get back to some decent DR/SR. 👍
