Cheers :) I've found this car is about confidence. It took me a while to figure out how fast it can really go through corners so I would guess that's the main way for you to find time :)

Plus the Della Roggia chicane (first chicane in this layout) which is evil in this car and pretty much defines your lap. Feels like the way the car goes over the kerbs is a dice roll at times. Then there's the fact that by the time you brake for the first time on your lap, you're already a minute into your attempt from a fresh restart, you've gone flat out for 40+ seconds straight and 90% of the time you'll end up restarting again right away. Creates a lot of frustrating downtime that I imagine is putting people off, and is also the reason why Mission 34 in GT4 was way more frustrating than it should've been. ;)
It seems to me a really good Junior formula car... it does reward confidence, but requires a careful throttle foot to be fastest. That chicane is sneaky devilish at times... I put two wheels too far to the left, when TRYING to be conservative, and looped it in one race, cost me some spots that I otherwise was cruising ahead of without worry. It is also good as a Jr formula car, because mistakes translate into big time deltas... separating the good drivers from the field. I really like it, and enjoyed the Daily at AUTOPOLIS a few months back, too.

It is interesting you note the 1 minute thing... as I was putting in my QT for the Daily Race over the course of an hour, at least 50% of the time, my Parabolica exit was such that by the time I hit the chicane, I was 0.1 - 0.2 sec behind! Really drives discipline, that car...

In a sense, this version of Monza reminds me of an oval race, very few corners but they're all extremely important.

I am going to have to struggle with race C tonight to rebuild my SR:D:lol:
Seriously has the chance to be a fun run, but with that car and track it is a death sentence. Tried a run from the back after Fuji FIA ate my SR and stayed behind at the start, went super slow through first chicane, and still got wiped out multiple times in the race for a neutral SR score. People just spinning that thing exiting corners and spinning back and forth everywhere. Even over a second back, think it is clear and nope, one last spin cycle into me. Oh well. I can say that it was at least a decently clean race as it was just people crashing and bad luck. So there is hope

It was just brutal for me last night, if I do get on tonight it will be a matter of avoiding actual racing at all costs, I will just yield. Literally hit EVER DAMN TIME I was near someone yesterday.

I had a fairly interrupted race B last night. P3, had some space, P2 made a mistake and I made a slow pass at T2/3 and they sent me into the wall, finished P5.

Refused to end it on that so qualified P1, made a mistake and geared down to 1st on T1, they made the pass, which was fine. Lap 4 torwards the end they drove off and took win. And roll credits

My day in a nutshell, right here...

Gran Turismo®SPORT_20200616174215.jpg

SO I snuck in one quick race C. Handed pole as my SR had dropped.

- poor start, p2 into t1
- Into Lesmo 1 P1 makes an error, we exit side by side and he starts pushing me off track? Give him benefit of the doubt but does the same exiting Lesmo 2. I mean really???????
- Now P3, P2 messes up Lesmo 2, i cannot yield through fear of being rear ended, he takes the right side of the road so I take the left ..... as he swings back left .... PICK A GOD DAMN LANE.
- Now P5, I catch P4 at Parabolica, he makes a big error and floats way left, over the line, i tuck in super tight, hugging the inside kerb, he spears right and collects me, down to P9
- Recover to P3 but man what a mess that race is.

Morning morning finished 4th at Race A in a mixed grid and lost 1 dr point. :)
One slow dude blocked me the hole race, even brake checked, which resulted in red sr.
Getting the sr back to 99 will be harder than i thought.

I've had clean races there. Maybe why I haven't bothered with dailies anymore. Thought, maybe if I got a good grid spot (was P3). But watching the replay I noticed it was a rehash of the 2011 Italian Grand Prix start.

I was thinking that first chicane comes out more like this. Same at Turn 1 Fuji in the FIA races this week.

EDIT: On an update note, got information on my warning. Their statement is basically "you did something wrong, don't do it again. We won't tell you what it was but next time just avoid any interaction with any other players so that it never happens again." I was even told that simply responding in any way to abusive comments would be counted as interaction and could get you in trouble. Even replying lol or report as text to threats and vile insults could count as me violating policy if I already have the warning because I was engaging them.:irked:
So never talk to anyone again unless it is nice happy comments.

We are in a world where you can't say what you like and what you don't like.
It's kinda in every department of a human's life. Sad thing ay.

But if you don't like something, people not only will tell you you can't complain but they will try and make you like what you just disliked.

Started last and kept my hands in my pockets.

Car that finished P2, blew by me like I had the handbrake up and driving in reverse. That was in the corners! Almost threw 4th away, with my 8 second lead on the last lap. P3 must have had an off. It was P2 a lap earlier and I saw the change of position. Next, I saw 5 seconds. Down to about 4. I enter the first(2nd chicane) chicane and the computer acts like I want to play on the kerbs:rolleyes: I bounce on the first and go through the chicane, spun around and spinning out of the gravel. I'm waiting for the reset and nothing. Not even a penalty. P5 is about 3 seconds behind now and down to 2 :nervous:, down to 1.7 and I'm holding on entering the parabolica. Finished!

This race is crazy all over, and the cars like to bite you if you push in the wrong spot. Can hope to see you but as I am repairing a dumped SR I will be riding from the back just to patch things up in hope for next week. Going to be a challenge to avoid people after they have wrecked. Still like to block even though 30 mph slower.

Yeah, I had to build the courage to hold 4th gear for the right-hander after the first chicane. That helped me build a gap to cars behind.
Full out? Imma have to give that a go when I get up. Lost like 7000 dr points tonight from just a few races.

Tired Race C three times earlier, manage to end lap 1 without being punted and/or without a penalty once.

It wasn't even as bad as some of the videos I've seen but it wasn't clean either. I managed 6th from 16th, 6th from 18th and 9th after being punted off and ending up last after 1st lap. It would help if I was faster at this combo for certain. :dopey:

:gtpflag:

1 - You look behind and see the Columbian moving to the inside but you still move over to the right...
2 - Put your Radar on
Why do you have your fuel map at 3? That is suicide for Race C this week.
If you were quicker they wouldnt catch so fast. Why are you on fuel map 3?
he didnt even need the radar , the left red indicator was flashing hard telling him there was somebody there
The guy he has contact with is Uruguayan - though I agree the wandering over to where the Colombian was despite looking there, and the red warning markers, was odd.

But the truly weird part (on top of being in fuel map 3...) is that his car is ghosted throughout except at the moment of contact. That poor guy from Uruguay was about to drive partly through a ghosted car, only to find it was unghosting and moving into his path. I wonder how it screwed up his race.

There's so much wrong with this clip.

DIT: On an update note, got information on my warning. Their statement is basically "you did something wrong, don't do it again. We won't tell you what it was but next time just avoid any interaction with any other players so that it never happens again."
The PS support page tells you that you will not be told what your errant behaviour was, nor will it be rescinded because all decisions are final. In all likelihood, it was for using an expletive (voice or typed) or term of abuse against a protected characteristic, because that's just about the only thing that PS takes any action against for regular players. That and sending pictures of your winky. The other thing is using the report function too much...

That's a rather odd outlook. I assume it's related to the post above it regarding the code of conduct warning from PlayStation, but even then it's not accurate - you can say what you like and don't like, you just can't do it with expletives or with terms of abuse.

It's part of the voluntary code of conduct you agree to in order to access the service. It turns out that Sony wants people, and children, to be able to use SEN/PSN without being abused or sworn at by other users. You agree to that before you use it, and if you don't follow the code (and thus break your own promise to follow it), people can report you and you might get warned or banned for it. That's hardly unreasonable.

Yes. I slightly lift before turning in, to tighten my line, as I accelerate on entry through the whole corner.
I use 3rd for the next right, but that player that passed me, I don't know how, but was blisteringly quick through there. Maybe they take that in 4th or slightly lift. I just don't know. He/she left me in the dust.
