To me, the recent graphics changes since GT5, the offline play have been putting me to sleep.

When I'm driving a rotary, the engine keeps me up. Same with any of the V8s. It's the ambience or lack of, that PD are missing.

I'd say in the older games, the pixelated graphics were constantly moving. So, maybe that was adding to the senses. No doubt, the tyre rubbing/screeching, was pretty much the only communication we could sense as to what the car was doing.

Hope PD add more internal car sounds of the suspension, squeaks, more dirt flying around in the wheels guards.

Tried the 911 and immediately beat my qualifying lap, and had the most consistent lap I’ve had so far lol.

Really pushing the limits of my trail braking uhhh “ability”! Which is a good thing, really enjoying it!

The 911 is my fav at the time, its the only one i can push with 10/10 laps, i clock within a second consistently until i ran out of tires, particularly front left haha,

The RCZ is pretty quick too but its tricky when the tires are done,

ive done two races today and I’ve managed to rack a win, Started third and. i managed to dive into 2nd by turn one , the very first lap the leader did a mistake and i got by, i ran for my life while they were busy fighting, when they settled i already pulled a 5 secs gap, they started chunking it slowly but they couldn’t get at me phew

Here's one for all of the wheel & pedal supremacists. :D
#1 in world for race A is not only a controller guy, but better than that: he's the Japanese guy who steers with the D Pad and uses X and [ ] for throttle and brakes.
I logged in to my Asian account to watch his lap replay. It's quite remarkable. He's a freak.

Is that the guy who was E braking at Spa that time?

Some good and amusing racing has happened today, but not in the way that I envisioned :boggled:.

First race of the two today, was Race A in a Fit. Already seeing and feeling carnage at the first corner, a blue Fit pushed me wide and I went from pole to third place, however that would not be my biggest concern... but rather, my fellow Argentinean. It was shocking to have to race someone like this, and I'm honestly considering not even going into Race A anymore for the rest of the week, and instead mainly doing Race C. This person, in the white Demio, had a really bad attitude when I gave him some fight, by defending my position on lap 3 after getting a pretty bad run out of the first corner. Instead of passing around me, he decided to pass through me; but matter is a thing and I exist, so I suffered the consequences .

What was even MORE shocking, was the fact he only got a 4 second penalty for ruining the race, and the fact that said 4 second penalty only slows him down to around 100km/h. It should honestly slow you down to 50km/h, at least, so you really feel the speed loss. Nevertheless, I ended up in an undeserved second place, and this was the chat after the race:

Translation since I doubt a lot of you speak Spanish:

-Me (EBF_Natalie): @Fabio46River nice one, thanks
-Fabio46River: @EBF_Natalie idiot race well son of a 🤬 You are very slow idiot
-Me: It's called defending you 🤬
-Me: You aren't racing alone you egghead
-Fabio46River: You run me wide and not let me by idiot learn to drive (at this point I saved and watched the replay to see where I ran them wide, which was ****ing nowhere because there was no contact until they made contact. Think it was their shocking internet, the Mars Curiosity Rover has better ping than they do !)
-Me: I didn't run you wide
-Fabio46River: Learn idiot

:dunce:

In fact, here's a video of the race.

He should just go and pursue a career at some fighting championship, effin' nonce... Anyway, after that shocking experience, I decided to just wait for Race C to start, and I just wanted to have some fun. So I picked the memelord of Gr.3 cars .

The Peugeot PEUGEOT VGT Gr.3 (when will PD learn...) is actually not a bad car around Catalunya, pretty quick on the straights and not uncontrollable on corners. Sure it's a bit hard to drive, but it looks and sounds fantastic! I actually quite enjoyed running it. If anybody does want to try it, I suggest brake balance -4, that's what I was running and it was quite consistent. It does require some getting used to, though.

Photo from the race, look at that camber! Ugh, such a nice looking car...... in my opinion, of course. And yes, that behind is an RCZ, since it was memelord central in that race, Peugeot 1-2 in qualifying pace . In fact, everything about that race was memelord like. After it finished, I stayed a while to look at the chat, and there were some accusations being thrown out in there...

So, once more, I saved the replay and watched it. I ran quite cleanly and without issue, but a few seconds behind... 🤬 was going DOWN! Here's a montage of all the good that came out of that race, people playing bowling / baseball, going for overtakes ala Pastor Maldonado, it was just a crapshow. SR S my back bumper, watching that I felt like I was watching Wreckfest and not Gran Turismo Sport!

And, to top it off, victory for the memelord! Salve .

Yeah, I could never do that.

So I set a QT of 1:35.9 for Race A last night. Thinking that should give me a good starting position I decided to enter a race. Ha, starting 6th behind The_Kid and his BHR buddies. OK I'll follow them around and maybe one will mess up and I'll pick up a spot. Turn 1 and someone must of put Brembo on my bumper as I'm punted hard. Turn 3 same thing and I down to last with a .5 penalty to boot. I manage to make it up to 9th only to miss my braking point in the final right because someone was on my right 1/4 panel. So I wind up 11th and donated 1000 DR. And the real kick in the ass was a -20 SR loss in one race. Now I remember why I avoid the dallies unless it's a fun combo. :banghead: BTW, nice lap @sturk0167.

Been a while since I posted in here . .

Two 4th place starts. Got tapped/spun by a German in a 911 in race 1. Assuming he just missed his braking point for the hairpin, as he looked clean for the rest of the race.

Net DR gain of 352, for a new all time high of 41,945.

May take the 911 out, tomorrow. 'Vette doesn't seem like it's best suited to Catalunya.

Dropped to a B after that failure of a daily race tonight. Hmmm... bit annoyed, but what I get for my weekly go at trying to put that dumpster fire out.

Have been having fun with the Genesis at Catalunya. Great HP/Weight as adjusted by the BoP and can put the power down pretty well without spinning at 0 TC (having issues there with the 911 and mid engine cars). Tire consumption is not too bad either. For those who don't like it, what are the flaws compared to your vehicle of choice?

The Genesis handles well, but needs draft. It’s weakness is it likes to be wound up tight with a lot of steering angle...It has tons of grip but if you wind the rubber band too far it pops out unexpectedly. I would use it though if it had more power.
The 911 lacks power also with a full fuel load.
I prefer power to handling prowess, usually. The 911 is a better MUCH better handling car imo. It’s a scalpel.
I don’t like handling cars because if you don’t exit perfectly you get pressured on straightaways. I tried 911 today and my times were faster in the vette.
IN RACE WITH FUEL LOAD is when the cars are very different from qualifying trim (min fuel weight)
Cars with power are more consistent for me over the course of a race.

My latest attempts were not so succesfull. I can't seem to have a race without accidents. Sometimes I start from the back and trie to avoid collisions, but still there are ways to hit me. It results in a scary race behavior. Lately, I'm more looking behind me then in front of me. Still can't avoid all the hits.
I must be doing something wrong, but it seems that it got worse since all the corona hassle and the pricedrop of gt sport.

I went back on my thought of not doing Race A anymore in this week, and I went back at it again for the last few times this week. Closing off the week (for me at least) with 12 starts, 9 wins, 11 pole positions, 9 fastest laps. Pretty happy so far with my performances, but I'll use the remaining days to grind the GT League and acquire a bunch of cars for my collection, since I enjoy doing so while chilling and listening to documentaries or Youtube videos .

Did two more starts of Race A in the end, both in the Demio. After the 🤬 show that was today, I'm surprised that I found clean players, probably because of the time I was racing at (around night time), or maybe I just got lucky . Still, it was fair and respectful, although I'm tired of getting attacked solely by Fits !

That is what is confusing me about the Genesis. The BoP adjustment gives it 600HP (3rd most) at 2837lbs (6th lightest) - considerable power/weight ratio advantage over everything else...

Thats the downside of modern grand prix tracks. The kerbs and runoff are so forgiving that arbitrary penalties are the only disincentive for you not to exceed track limits.
It's even worse in real motorsport, because the track limits are not enforced the curbs rubber in as much as the track. The green strip of death at Spoon (Suzuka) actually has as much grip as the track.

Drivers will always drive wherever is quickest, if you want to slow them down don't paint a white line put an actual deterrent (grass, gravel, wall, etc) in the way. Nobody complains about track limits at the Nordschleife.

Indeed, its a massive problem. An annoying feature in a game as well because theres no safety reasons for it to be there.

Has anyone else had this happen. For the third time in a couple weeks, when I warmup for a race, the screen is black. I can see all the data, the track map, etc. but it's like all the windows of the car are painted black and I can't see out. All I can do is steer to the side till I hit a wall and stand on the brakes. Is it an issue that anyone's had? When the race starts, thankfully full view is restored.

It's interesting you bring up the Genesis. I tried practice laps for Race C with whole bunch of Gr 3 cars that I hand't used much before, and the Genesis gave me my fastest lap and most consistent laps. It's likely that it just suits my driving style more than it suits the track. I use auto transmission and the Genesis always seemed to be in the right gear to power me out of the turns without sliding. I took it out for the race and started 5th and finished 5th. This track is stressful for me to get around, but in the Genesis I felt like I didn't have strain as hard to get decent lap times. I might have to spend some more time in this car at other tracks too. :)

Yeah it tends to happen if you go in the Car Settings Menu before going out on track. Normally if you pause and exit to the pits it should sort itself out.

Exciting to sneak a few races in before work today, no time to race past few days really.

got my most consistent race c, which was good for the confidence lol. Still only p6.

tried race b, and lap one was just dirty dirty dirtbags, so that was disappointing, since I really have to go out of my way to squeeze a race or two in this week.

race C has sent my DR into another nose dive, which is whatever, but.... I’m thinking if I race A/B dailies at this level my SR isn’t gonna be happy either. Bleh...

End of day I don’t really care where I’m at DR wise, I just am continually growing more annoyed with how much dirty drivers effect my DR/SR. I’ll take a race where someone hit me 10 times from mistakes over being anywhere near a dirtbag...

I simply enjoy hanging around high B DR, but it only takes a bad race or two to drop big time, and my god is there a difference n how people treat each other once you get low B lobbies.

So my only realistic goal for the near future is staying in this bracket, but it’s a lot of effort, that can go south at anytime. Lotta work to enjoy something lol
just hope I get some time to race this weekend - and not have it be a frustrating waste of time.
