Wow, just did a few qualifying laps on race C, mmmmmm that's fast, don't think I have been on that track before and it's only the second time I have been in the Mclaren VGT, think I will give racing a miss for now, need a bit more experiance with Gr 1's, but good luck to all you guys that do. :)
You got this! Don’t miss the chance to say you were there!

All in all a great race C night for me! Good finishes and gains in better lobbies than recently for me! Yay

Last couple were very clean fun with a fair amount of battles. Just having a blast! Only overtaking when I’ve got clear advantage. Otherwise showing a little bit inside but not pushing. Actually pulling off a little to much into turns, but just being safe!!!

goodluck, happy to see a good amount of GTP folks

Good to see some familiar faces goin in country on c!
I had a run of bad luck including last lap punted off at Indianapolis from 4th and a bunch of limits pens...and capped the night off disconnected lap one at Porsche!
Lol all in good fun, good to share the track with friends. I really should have run a few more practice laps tho, I forget which one but took a .5 before getting to turn 1 due to starting in the chicane.
It’s very weird to have a one make r92 race with slipstream not doing anything...
Fun tho, pretty sure I kept 99 so hopefully run a few tomorrow...
Tonight I was snakebit, thinking my luck would turn in the last one before the disco.

If you are on a 33.3 you are not far off my pace (32.7). First question, what car are you using? I think the Viper is worth about 3 to 4 tenths and my preferred weapon is the Aston Vantage but my best optimal time is with the Viper.

For sectors, you need to be mid 23's in sector 1, low 23's sector 3 ........ it's sector 2 where sneaky loss of time happens as it is very complex. The exit out of the left hander after back straight is critical (start of sector 2), get this wrong and you lose a SOLID half second, need to get on the gas really, really early.

I am losing 3 tenths on the left hander before the final turn. I cannot get through there flat whilst other high B and low A drivers do and I get gobbled up entering that last corner.

Speaking of which, man in S races I am seeing some very good drivers but almost always ruined by one or two clowns that try to pass in impossible places. They really do cause mayhem as qualy times and pace are so close.
I use peugeout, i try others mazda was fast too,ww beatle not...aaa right first split i have 23.5 so in first one i am not losing that much, and i was thinking that i am losing in first split to much becuse first two corners are quite tricky ...

Yesterday before Manu race I got weird "adventure" in C. Some french 🤬 keep tapping my back in braking zones, everytime he get 1s penalty, finnaly he just send me outerspace on corner before second penalty zone, his penaltys cumulated to 5 or 6s, he lost 4 positions... WTF? I wanted to ask but he quited immiedietly after race ended. His sr dropped to A. I got no interaction with him from the start... Maybe we got some romance earlier, and he cant forget about me:lol: I dont know

Raced C from the back a few times today. First race had @sturk0167 and @RacingGrandpa . Sturk was right behind me, until I got punted in the second corner. First of 3 in that race. It's been an SR drain for me, though I'm still hanging on to B on my alt. Got my first win of the week from 15th driving the 92. Probably my best race so far. Thought it was pretty clean, but still ended with a red B. Had (2) .5 second penalties, one in the Mulsanne corner. Still don't really know what I'm doing to get that one. Got a 2 second on the first lap when I got hit by a guy that blew the first chicane and hit me when he came back on track. Other than that, I was going well. Did 3 3:10.1 laps, which seems to be a good race lap for me. Maybe I'll race with the big boys in A/S tomorrow and see how I do. Might have to try some other cars. The Mazda looks to go well, and is suprisingly hard to catch on the straight, even with the 92. Maybe it does better in the draft? I did notice that the 92 doesn't gain much drafting. Must be rpm limited I guess.
It was great meeting you on the track, I knew it was a GTP member but couldn't place which one. Now I now!
I ran the Mazda in that race and it was a textbook race for that car except one track limit in the Dunlop Chicane, I was being shouldered out to the left in the first part.
Regarding Mulsanne, lift for a tenth before braking and stay to the right of the white line.
It's OK to use the curve on apex but don't touch the bollards.
I had a good battle with a R92CP in that race, on lap four he was right behind me through Porsche so I slowed down a little to make him pass before Tertre Rouge. All the way down Les Hunaudiers he tried to break the slipstream, weaving back and forth but the Mazda will follow all the way to 231 mph in a slipstream so he couldn't. He took the inside at Mulsanne so I couldn't get by there but I slipped ahead at Indianapolis and in Arnage he messed up, so I had a free run to third I thought. Then second ran of at Virage du Pont and I enherited His spot.
Good Times, good Times.

Started racing more frequently a few weeks back, I adore "daily" races, and naturally started following this thread - so might as well say hi to you all. :)

This week B is my go to race. I'm in A/S and noticed that racers I get matched are very fast and behaving properly - incidents are rare and are mostly due to fair mistakes.
I spent quite some time in qualifying, must have done 100laps or so, watching videos and guides, got it down to 31.4. Is enough for top 200 but not enough for top five in most of the races I get matched into, so wins tend to be out of reach and I feel I got a bit stuck now as 300ms more would mean all the difference.
In any case, lot more to learn I suppose :)

DAILY RACE DISCONNECTS. Are others seeing more than usual? Including during last daily race tonight before maintenance? This is killing my DR/SR. And my internet and wifi is working perfectly.

If the problem is not your side and everyone disconnects you dont lose sr/dr afaik. If you do disconnect, you dont lose sr, only dr afaik. Not %100 sure tho.

The faster you go, the faster lobbies you end up in.
I have run 796 daily races and have 8 wins. I am in the low range but wins are not usually something you get a lot of.

Edit: where are my manners? Welcome among us. You came to the right place!

Had a bunch of great races yesterday at lemans. The porsche is my weapon of choice. Lots of mistakes on my behalf, aswell as lots of great clean racing. I really enjoyed it and hope to get in at least a few more today after work (so in like, 8 hours from now) saw @Mc_Yavel in most of my races, making good runs up from the back. A pleasure as always good sir

I like how as the week progresses the diversity of the races widen. Monday it's a big ol' mix of hybrids and modern gr 1 with a few gr C thrown in.
Tuesday it's 90% R92CP'S.
Come Wednesday it's starting to mix up again with different gr C cars depending on driver preference.
I really like that, even if my own preferred car is chosen primarily for the sound.

Edit: more diverse in NA than in EMEA

About those bollards. In my last race yesterday morning (had real life stuff to do rest of the day), I entered Mulsanne worrying about Brazil behind me. I was roughly in the center of the track, wanting a wide turn to the apex, but partly guarding the inside too. Another American behind Brasil though, came in hot, passed Brasil and tagged my left rear. I believe it was not intentional, he was just a little overzealous. But he did upset my car so it went sideways a bit, I caught it, but in the process I ran right over 4-5 of those bollards. I thought for sure I'd see the dreaded track limit penalty, but nothing. Did the program have a rare moment of clarity and realize it wasn't my fault? We'll probably never know.

Just had a couple of runs in race C post update.
WARNING: BUMP DRAFTING IS PENALIZED NOW. Shouting done, but the lead car gets a penalty if bump drafting now. Dont know about others as the clean racing I had we didnt touch except for 1 bump draft and 1 where I had to lift in corvette at the wrong time and got tapped.

Did have 2 decent enough races. Seem to have forgotten how to take corvette now for some reason. First race I saw a familiar face from here, I think. They tried to help with the bump draft and that is when we found the new penalty. Was ok as I pretty much got corvette wrong 5 out of 6 laps even when slowing to simply focus on aiming right. Still finished p3 with p4 20 seconds behind.

Second race had @05XR8 and the other driver, highstakes (found it was @ShiftingGears) in the race. I was nailing it for 3 laps aving a great back and forth with a japanese driver till I cooked it through corvette again and dropped to the middle of a giant gap. Still came home in p3 despite a chicane penalty anyway. Still enjoying the combo but got to work on that last section again. My rhythm is off there somewhere and making me bad inconsistent.

Why do I get the feeling that bump drafting will become a thing now with some drivers so they can gain positions without having to battle for it. If it's the front car that gets the penalty, it's makes the pass easy at the next penalty zone.
Yeah, I can see that being an issue. But shortening the draft could help. Will have to see if people are seeing the same results on interlagos

Yeah, good stuff! C9 was front heavy at half distance. Would not turn. My .5 at the start just hurt me.

Only good thing is the C9 acceleration. Other than that, it's got no top end(for a Group C), but we knew this. I'll try the Jag at some point. The 962 will be interesting. R92 will be last.

Edit: Oh! Got 1 second, I think, Lap 5. That cost me 6 seconds. Add the understeer at Porsche or Corvette and I was all alone for the remainder of the race.

I took your Aston out for some laps. I like it! Within a tenth or two of my best time.
I might have to give the competition a taste of some British muscle!

It's a good race car because power. Before they nerfed the tow a few weeks back, man at Interlagos i'd round up Porches from MILES back based on power alone. And would pick off the guy in front into T1 on lap 1 like it was given to me, especially if it's a 911. Look.....

Yeah nah get rid of it. Try the Aston or the Viper or the 911.

Welcome to GT Planet! Hope to see you on the track!:gtpflag:

Fit in 2 race C’s before work today, more Porsche driving! Like the control/hard braking in this car, but only 222mph in the straight.

1st race I was behind p1/p2 down the straight. They (or atleast one of em) smashed into each other the entire way down, prolly the silliest “racing” I’ve ever seen. So much one had a 10second penalty!
So despite my slow tip speed I came flying by them, and the guy with the 10second penalty smashed into me, surprise!
Not a great race for me after that. P7

2nd race was much better, fun clean driving. Held p1 for a lap until two solid racers both overtook me in a slow corner, impressive lol
Finish p3. Happy there

goodluck! Many more friendly faces on the grid! Good racing! Good finishes @jimihemmy

17th to 12th in the Matmut 908 after qualifying with a 3:11.0
11th to 9th in the Castrol XJR-9 after qualifying with a 3:09.6 - this car's understeer is genuinely unbearable, I was faster in the Peugeot
13th to DNF in the 962

That concludes my adventures in car variety. Where's that Nissan

Hello !

I am new at gts one month playing, this week in dailys interlagos just dont fit me , so i tryed yestarday gr1, i thought that was to fast 4me but omg i love it ... i am not the fastest my time is 3.12.200 but still room for improvemant. I race cleane, except if someone hits me...so sr is going a little bit up...dr down for 2000 i raced 3 races finished about 10th place becuse of my own stupid mistakes pushin too hard, but ok i am willing to sacrafice dr becuse is realy fun. So few questions....in lap one after long straight do i must always brake early ? Tyres cold or what ? I did end up in sand... and if i go off track the grip is then few cornes worse ?
And i also like that is not to crowded so few accidents i think...
Hehe so yesterday after gr1 i wast trying to put better qual time in daily race A haha like if i am on ice every corner off track like day and night

Sorry if the quastions are stupid, but i am new so ...

Thanks

Almost had my best finish at in Race C. P7 won't impress many, but I almost had it. A 7 second cushion starting the last lap, but completely screwed up big time through the first S in Tertre Rouge. Off into the sand. Tried to recover from that and shot across left onto the grass. The program finally had mercy and reset me back on the track. Ended up P10.

On another note though, during morning practice I hit a personal best of 3:07.4. Maybe by next week I'll be ready to play with the big dogs at Sarthe. Oh, wait...

   What a ridiculous idea, the car in front, who can do literally nothing about getting bumped except swerve all over the track, gets a penalty? Job done PD, GTSport is unplayable.

The only stupid question is the one not asked. I asked pretty much the same earlier this week. Yes, cold tires. Also dirty air from the cars in front. I had a terrible first race till I realized the differences between practice alone, and racing in a crowd. And I have heard dirt on the tires will cause traction problems for a few turns, but I haven't noticed it to bad.

It is a fun track and car combo. I like it because of the separation between groups of cars which allow you to breath after the first lap or two.
