First go at the Daily B race this evening, hate the meta cars and felt quick in the Ferrari but it was soon evident it just isn't quick enough. Had a Jag all over me and he overtook far too easily so after the race switched, and after 3 laps qualifying posted a 1:45.9 (for me that's pretty quick!) and entered the race. Had a fantastic race, and a great battle with a Viper, super clean and even posted a 1:45.9 in the race! Absolutely love this game when you're in a nice clean lobby!

That's what happened to me, with three cars thinking divebombing is a good way to race. My rating went from A/S to A/A. And that was without retaliating. Maybe if I retaliate, my rating will up!

If taking out the trash (drivers) was as easy as a tap dance on their back bumpers, I'd turn into Fred Astaire with a helmet.

When I was having trouble there, what helped me improve a lot was to focus on the white curb. Just try to aim for driving over the top of it, and it will drastically improve your success rate at the chicane of death. I believe it's because you can spot it much sooner than you can spot the opening in between the walls. If you're having trouble there, please give it a try. 👍

That's usually what I focus on. But, the magical equation is (speed + turn in point + crossover point = success) & even a dash too much or too little ends in disaster. I've done all of the above, correctly & incorrectly.

I normally use the part of the bridge on the right as a reference point for turning in also

Part of my disastrous trips through the CoD have usually been the wrong turn in spot. You then carry too much speed, panic, use the brakes more than you should, & hit the right hand wall on the second half on the chicane. :dunce: That really hurts when you're leading on the last lap. :banghead:

Probably an unpopular opinion but I think the best turn on Seaside is the uphill reverse corkscrew at the start. Underrated. And sets up great downhill flow into the next part.

I like it due to a brilliant spot to make a pass. In the video flashback I posted yesterday, you see that I made a pass for the lead twice there in the same race.

Viper really that good now? :odd:
Is it faster than any other car except FFs on the straights? Might have to try it out...

It has been given some buff in the BoP system so that it's better than it has ever been in the game. If anybody using the Mustang wants something that can be a hair faster (with some practice & patience), the Viper is their car.

Except for your livery. 🤬:yuck::P:gtpflag:

It's strange - I'm over a second off my KudosPrime target time for Race A, but I'm in the top 300 for my region as of this post. I think it's because the car has a higher skill ceiling and the KudosPrime target times don't account for how the car drives. I swear, the 993 CS barely has any grip - it's almost sort of fun. I'm also using TCS 1 and BB -5, is that good? Should I even be using TCS? I want to say I should, considering the car in question.

#1 time went super low, so it makes everyone else have to work that much harder to match the target. The target times are based off the #1 time, and the % you are normally off of that time.

My eyes are normally closed when I get to that point.

I honestly know that for the gr 4 cars I have a specific turn in spot, but I have absolutely no idea what it is. Every single time I work on marking it to make dead sure i have it memorised i plow straight into the wall. If i just focus on the rhythm and dont look for a mark i can actually nail it flat 90pct of the time. Looking to test out the Vette and viper there later.

I rarely have an issue taking the chicane in that direction but Seaside II is so difficult to get right. I think it's because you (usually?) have to brake in that direction, and dickheads always try to go two-wide through it. Now that I think about it, I hate everything about Seaside II.

Lift slightly and turn in on the shadow of that Penalty Black Box on the road; as soon as the car is goin left you "should" be able to turn right at full throttle for the last part and exit without hitting the wall(s).

Thought I tried Race C, first time I raced with a daily at Monza. Took the RCZ for a spin, here's the end result:

The Race A really infrims this penalty system. Went from B/S to B/B in the span of 4 laps. The people racing either ghosted out but i still hit them, or they went too slow out of the T1 hairpin. Guess I'm sticking with Race C then.

What view does everyone use in Sport Mode? I only use cockpit in any sim with my wheel. As long I drive a particular car with some regularity, I find it very easy to judge how close I can get to walls. Last week at Nurburgring GP I regularly had oh **** moments in the final turn thinking I was gonna hit the inside wall but I never did.

I'm sure we all get used to whichever view we use, but I just wonder if that affects spacial awareness in situations like the Chicane of Death.

I run in bumper view. It's a little obstructed by other cars if you are close but there is a rear view mirror and the radar can be right in the middle.
It's easy to judge the with of the car as it's almost exactly the same as the with of the HUD.

Good evening friends,
So tonight I reminisced about the good times in Catalina and raced a couple in the Ferarri liveried up in a gorgeous aqua two tone. I had two really fun races. Return of the big bad Bass!

The Ferarri is great fun except for being slow on a power track lol. I did fine in both races, I would race this car more but only after working q time a bit. 46.1 is gettin beatdown pretty good. I’m not sure I have the patience to put in the effort but no matter. Retained 99 even after some fun door to door action. I think the game pities the Ferarri here.
All good, room banter was great, this isn’t a race to wait on imo if you are at 99. Odds are Thursday will be a last good run in prime time before everyone will have hit great quals and be placed up the grid where they maybe don’t belong, or start figuring out ways to barge...
The Ferarri is great to drive and I think can be used pacewise but not reccomended without a better q time than I have right now. I didn’t get run off which was great and shared replays in the game.
You can see a couple rubs but I received no sr down.
I love this pen system! LOL. @astrarobotica cockpit view always, I’m terrible in the others.
Cheers

I have used chase cam for practically a lifetime. I also can get a sense of my surroundings by quickly looking at the rear view & looking forward again. I have in the past backed off just to make it through the CoD single file. But going reverse (Seaside II), I've had the spot to only have someone banzai up beside me & use me for an extra set of tires. Fair warning, if I have the spot on SII & somebody pushes me into the wall, I go head-hunting.

Man, for the RC F having the best suspension, it launches off the exit kerb. I've altered my lines to see what keeps the right front from springboarding, but nope. Every lap is a gamble. Like watching a V8 Supercar launch at Surfers Paradise.

Bumper view, I have found it the easiest view for me, the only problem with it is you see less of the track ahead so track knowledge is very important.

I'll give it a go, I tend to lift off the accelerator for a split second at what feels the right point and make it most of the time, probably about 95-98% success rate
Just started practicing with the viper and surprised how stable it is I normally have big problems with fr and Mr cars.

Bonnet cam, I can focus on my line and see where my car is at the same time. I've swapped from the chase cam and I've gotta say it's a world of difference.

Chase Cam pleb! :dunce:

Update, the q time is what it is. I think I could get better in the Stang but it would take a LOT of time. Stang really would be great here imo. I’d use it but the Ferarri is more fun and sneaky. The w times I’m seeing are crazy fast, I can’t do it. People have really perfected one lap pace here and I’d rather enter than chase it.
I just spent a fruitless hour lol.
