Man, for the RC F having the best suspension, it launches off the exit kerb. I've altered my lines to see what keeps the right front from springboarding, but nope. Every lap is a gamble. Like watching a V8 Supercar launch at Surfers Paradise.
I found that I hate the WRX suspension as it seems filled with super balls or something, but if I hit the curbs properly then the left bounces it to the right and that one pretty much straightens it out. Am not going to see much of it tonight as I will be doing the Tsukuba death race.

What view does everyone use in Sport Mode? I only use cockpit in any sim with my wheel. As long I drive a particular car with some regularity, I find it very easy to judge how close I can get to walls. Last week at Nurburgring GP I regularly had oh **** moments in the final turn thinking I was gonna hit the inside wall but I never did.

I'm sure we all get used to whichever view we use, but I just wonder if that affects spacial awareness in situations like the Chicane of Death.
Bonnet cam for heated battles and being precise at challenging circuits.

HOWEVER, depends on th car. Race A, no J Porsches I've used cockpit. Both have excellent camera positions and the instrument panels are awesome to keep tabs on revs and speed.

DTS, I need the bonnet cam for COD. I have used cockpit in FIA while driving the RX-VISION. That's a real nice cockpit. Especially hearing the rotary.

Used bonnet for Race C, but could be either. RC F has a good view of rear view and driver's side mirrors.
Atenzas have awesome cockpit views. The GR.4 Atenza gives me nose bleeds with how high the camera is placed. I'll add same for the Porsche 962C. That has a ridiculous angle.

Always have used bumper cam , very rarely use cockpit just for something different.

Two circuits/races to avoid:

Monza - any class
Daily Race A (despite it being great fun)

They are DR and SR destroyers.

Same here. Tried all, and despite a good argument for cockpit view being more 'real', I just can't get a good lap time with it. In bumper I'm regularly looking in the virtual mirror (for divebombs, mainly). I find it better than the radar, in which a car has to be almost on top of you before you can 'see' it.

Probably been posted a million times before, but a part-solution to the penalty system might be ramping up (or turning ON) damage control. I note that it is currently turned off for dailies.

Could anyone illuminate me as to why this feature is turned off by Polyphony? Surely ramming from behind would become a thing of the past as soon as drivers realised that a stuffed radiator/engine would result. Same goes for leaping sausages which may result in suspension damage.

Tried 1 race B clean for me as far as my driving , got hit by another car and end up loosing 5 SR points , how's this system fair to anyone

Roof/hood cam, I feel most comfortable with:) Only minus is no mirror...

Okay. Jumped in the G(T)4 Mustang using my alt account. Cockpit view for two races. I remember why this car was my most used early in GTS. Such awesome turn in. 3rd gear on the exit of corners. The sound. Always good to revisit it.

Edit 3rd race. CoD got me as I was slowing for some cars fighting ahead. Main thing was the start. Had five FFs in front of me. Those cars really ruin the pace.

Bumper cam 99% of the time, hood cam the other 1%. :)

Me, still mad at the game, but putting in good lap times for lap guides:

Is that GIF meant to represent 'lambs to the slaughter' or 'dumb as dog ****'?

I can't tell which animal it is.
Neither.
It's a sheep from Minecraft doing a rave dance by spinning around.
I sometimes use it as a way of showing that I'm spinning out on track.

Hood cam. I really miss having a rear view mirror but when I use bumper cam I find it difficult to pick out brake markers when you're right behind someone. I like the visual reference of exactly where the car is too.

Started GT Sport in Chase View (so I could see how well the car looked), moved to bumber view, but now always in Cockpit view. Some cars are worse than others e.g. left pillar, but have it sorted and now race to my original times.

Always used to use bonnet cam, but the lack of mirror is a PITA, so I've switched to bumper cam, as not only does the rear view mirror help, but the radar being dead centre is really helpful.
I still sometimes use bonnet cam for qualifying as it's useful for precisely placing the car on track.

What I'd really like is to be able to race using VR! I really hope that when we get the PS5 it has the grunt to be able to cope with racing in VR.

After using chase cam almost exclusively since GT1, I switched to cockpit cam exclusively about a year ago after a brief love affair with bumper cam. I’ve found that in a lot of cockpits there are some pretty nice interior reference points that I use to help me judge turn angles and my closeness to curbs. I also really like the immersiveness of it. As an added bonus in some cars you get a decent rear view mirror or a rear view camera.

Tried Monza the first time today. Forgot to qualify  started 18th. B/C field. Almost everybody except me crashed at t1, run wide at t2-3-4-5  and crashed again in the chicane.
I was up to p5 clean with most others have penalties to pay thru the straight.
A dirty gtr tried to spin me out couple of times but i hold strong and run ahead a 4sc before the pit.
First time pitting ever in a race at lap5, put on the rh tires, filled up fuel(a bit more than needed ) and finished 5th clean without drama.

I run in bumper view. ....
It's easy to judge the with of the car as it's almost exactly the same as the with of the HUD.
I'm in total agreement with @RacingGrandpa

I generally use the hood cam, helps with seeing where my tires are on the track, when clipping curbs. I also find it the easiest to use in traffic, as you can usally see over the car in front of you. (Besides chase cam I guess)

I love the cockpit view though, and many cars I’m good with, I am good with because I drive them a lot because I like their cockpit view. BUT not having a useful mirror in cockpit view annoys the hell outta me. Many cockpit views, you simply can’t see it, despite playing with view settings. Wish I could use the joy stick to look around in the thick of battle for this, but I would end up crashing lol.

Anytime i watch IRL racing, I usally rum cockpit for awhile, because I want to feel cool.

Overall just don’t understand why the bumper cam has a “fake” mirror, but no other views do. Silly. Really wish I could see behind me with hood cam.

Apparently according to the Viper driver, this was all my fault!!!???!?
He didn't even get a penalty! WTF?

I can see what the Viper driver was saying. You did squeeze him out by moving right during that straight. If you stayed left, there would be no argument. On the other hand, if I was the Viper and saw that I was getting squeezed out, I would have backed off a bit.

Edit: It is his fault, not defending that.

Camera views; 90% of the time it’s bumper due to the HUD. Other 10 is cockpit or roof. This week at Monza switching between bumper and roof.

Idk if this is new as C races rarely have fuel worries but I have noticed a diamond when refueling at about the correct fuel amount you would need to finish.
Is this new? I never noticed in FIA races.

It's always been there, at least as long as I've been driving races with fuel consumption turned on. It's even in the campaign mode offline endurance races.

Edit: It's not always accurate ;)

Seaside is by far my favorite PD track. The racing you can get is just really great.
The last turn is really well designed for clean online racing with many lines workable.
It’s just fun. Great for racing closely imo.

My 3 best races, as in proper motor racing with tough but fair battles, are all at seaside. Only problem is the tight right in sector 1 after the fast right, lots of bombing in there and the tight line us SUPER slow so you can't take the inside all the time but folks try to pass from WAYYYYYYYYYY back.

Fuji is probably a bottom 4 track for me, pace wise. I just don't get the rhythm of the track... but, it can be a lot of fun because there is plenty of space. Of course, some folks like to REALLY take advantage of that space, lol. Honestly, out of the 9 or so races I've run so far, only had one bad one
