My racing the in the Daily races has become somewhat stagnant, not a whole lot of fun.On my main account I find myself holding my position instead of pushing it for the win .Maybe subconsciously I'm worried about my DR.Lately it's been my alternate account and with a couple of beers I could care less what happens  (disclaimer- i'm not reckless):lol::lol:

It will be interesting to see how sport mode integrates into the next gen game.

I've been pondering this as well. With such a large player base I can't imagine it being a hard cut, but I know stranger things have happened. Could there be some sort of Sport Mode co-existence phased approach? Even though it's Sony only, would it architecturally be similar to cross play? Or maybe like ACC and iRacing where the higher end gear(PS5) gets more visual goodies with overall more detail, and those of us on PS4 gets as good as it is now? This is probably not the thread for this discussion but I do wonder how it's all going to work.

Same here imo they need more game modes in online than just “serious ranked esport”
How about pick any car dirty full damage or team vs team or something?
They need online variety imo.

But think about it, we only have 3 race options right now and matchmaking is as bad as it is, the more options they include, the worse the matchmaking will get as people spread out more.

I know this has been mentioned over and over again, but make the dailies dailies. 💡 My suggestion would be to make the races last 3 days (Mon-Wed, Thu-Sat) and then make Sunday special event day. They could have a rally race, a SF or RB race and an endurance race lasting maybe 30-40 mins. I believe this type schedule could be an incentive to get people to race more often. Variety is the spice of life. :D

Good to see you out there again. Great lap time. I have some work to do. Made me smile when I saw you using the Viper

Yes! That’s undoubtedly true. I’m not saying make more options at all. I kinda was brainstorming along the lines of what @Chevy Heavy said.
Maybe make 1-2 days a week something less serious or unranked or whatever it might be Yano?
There’s more to racing games than just all out super serious fastest cleanest. I mean no one here wants Forza, but GT could work on it’s lighter side. That’s all. :)
Honestly I have fun racing at the bottom of sr just as much as the top, but in a different way...

I will say, I’ve done all 3 tonight and the players are definitely being more careful than they used to be below 99. And, in daily c I took a one second and one sr down and dropped from sr A to B!
I think that’s bloody brilliant if a person likes clean racing. Make 99 something to be proud of. We’ve all said it...
Now that it’s harder though it seems some are struggling. If it was my decision I’d make contact pens a bit stricter but rather than too much sr down I’d impose a starting grid penalty next entry. If the player continued with pens ok sr down.
Before 1-3 race C would have me back to 99 NO PROBLDM. Now I have to be careful, which is imo a good thing.

Gee spa is always tough on me. To be fast there I need to push too hard and make mistakes, my SR has dropped from 88 to 64 by running wide at various corners.

Quality with a 29.6 and it felt like a decent lap, looks OK on the friends list too but I cannot run with guys in the 28s weather they be A or B DR.

So far the GTR feels the best.

I personally like to show a steady increase in skill. I admit that I'm no top split driver, but I feel like my skill level is better than my 18-20K DR says.

I have no problems winning in Corvettes.

Corvette will have to handle like a scalpel for me to run it. Have had some understeer feelings in the last few Gr. 4 races.
Spa is my favorite track and I shine with the DB9 Race car.

Not much racing the last 2 weeks for me. Lost internet for a week due to the storm, then only raced from the back 2 or 3 times last week. Started the week off well this week. Put up Q times in all 3 races that are respectable. Did one race c, started 2nd, didnt realize I had a grid start and gotca start penalty, so ended up 5th after T1. Made it back up to 2nd but 1st was pulling away. Blew the downhill right after the hairpin on the penultimate lap and lost 2nd, but brought it home in 3rd. Raced 1 race at Spa in the Jag, which worked best for me in Q. Started 3rd, and it looked to be where I would finish. Start let me loose in the middle of the final corner, and P2 had 1.2 seconds on me when I crossed the line. I got the gap under a second a couple of times early, but it settled at 1.5 -2 seconds once the tires started to wear. Gap to 4th was about the same. Had my brakes at -2, which is where I usually run with no tire wear...should have put it at 0. Last lap I went wide in the long left hand sweeper, lost 2 spots, then over cooked the final chicane to loose 2 more. Last guy nipped me at the line and I got a well deserved 8th place. Looks to be a good week for me with slow cars.

Here's what race A looks like. Good luck.

I had that for a couple of races. It is certainly close quarters. I found in the couple of races I was in the midfield if I was super defensive and patient I suddenly came clear into lap 2 as everyone else just barged their way to chaos.

Now I will probably have a reset race this week since I said that.:scared:

And hopefully I avoid the really fast driver I was with last night. Flat out lightning fast, but mistake prone. Every race I was in he would hit a wall and get behind, then barge people out of the way to get back front.

Tried it to me on the hairpin but didnt hit hard enough so I was there to rub them wide on the door left right after. People are definitely using the side of their car as a weapon more.👎:grumpy:

Enjoying Spa but not a fan of the rolling start through the chicane. Great if you are P1-2, not bad for P3-4, but pretty awful for everyone else. TC is also really helpful if you are getting the green light while in the chicane. I dislike the T1 chaos of grid starts as well, but think it might be the fairest option in this case.

GT7 needs to be a PS5 system seller for sony , so i think GT sport will follow the same path as previous GT's , that means when GT7 is released GT sport will run for a couple of years after that then sony will shut its servers
since GT sport needs internet to work , they would most likely make it offline

Can't agree about P3-4. I started P3 and when it's time to hit the go pedal, I'm facing the pit wall and need full left lock just to stay on track. Definitely a track that needs a grid start, and another lap.

Tell me about this paddle mod... I just received my AXC TrueBrake mod for the brake, but haven't heard of a paddle mod...

Adds magnets behind the paddles for a more realistic clicky tactile feel to the paddles. There is a few different ones out there. This is the one i ordered. Im going to get the GT wheel from him as well.

I'd be for this. With daily races, I used to play often because variety is fun and and it kept me coming back to try out the new races.

Since the inception of weekly races, I've played less on average unless a week had exceptionally good races or not race at all. There's no balance because of that. A 2-way split each week seems like the best of both worlds.

I think this game has had so much potential wasted. The tools are there but PD never made use of them.

I had a ton of fun last night.
Then again I raced at E sr.
For a change of pace, E sr is super fun. I reccomend it. There’s everything. Brake checkers punters sides wipers slow cars fast cars, it’s wild!
Turn HUD OFF go cockpit view and get crazy!

My P3 start didn't bug me that much... did have the wheel cranked over but the car launched pretty well and the gap to P2 wasn't that bad. YMMV depending on car/TC level. Have much more of an issue starting out off speed inside the chicane in 1st gear... usually roll through in 2nd on flying laps so I don't have to worry so much about wheel spin on the exit.

I've been waiting literally years for one of the 'Vettes to be the META for a race, and now that it finally (sorta) is...I'm faster in the Jag...:(

man you should've been around in the very early days of the game....2017 and early 2018. The Gr.3 Vette dominated the leaderboard on a lot of tracks, and the Gr.4 Vette was up there as well. So much so that they both got nerf'd and stayed that way for a looooong time. The Gr.4 got the worst of it, and we hadn't really heard a peep out of it until one of the recent BoP updates....now it's back in action. Not sure about the current state of the Gr.3, but I know it's remained competitive on SOME combos.

Had some good races in daily C yesterday, an actual benefit of the *ahem* revamped penalty system that aggressively deranks people is that SR S racing has actually been very clean going into T1 at Autopolis for the first time in history. Some light contact is all I've observed, which isn't bad considering we're trying to stuff 20 slide-happy RWD cars through a corner with a crest at the entry.

A couple of questions regarding this penalty I just received for "Ignoring Yellow Flag".
Of course I ignored it, but I'd like to know what the penalty system wants me to do, instead?
The only thing I can think of is to stop my car. That would be an awful idea, especially with cars close behind me. It would cause more accidents.
I understand the need for yellow flags in real-life racing.
Is there any legitimate reason at all, for this penalty to exist in the game? I can't think of one.

it's the dumbest penalty ever. should we all just stop and wait so the guy who screwed up can keep his position? and the guys up ahead can just keep pushing for the win? ridiculous. no idea why PD even considered this.
