Thanks for your opinion, i am almost A dr rating and i dont want to lose dr if i am not top half finishing....the others in race are all B or A with safety S. Times all of them are close 2.0.00 or faster i just cant get one lap without minor mistakes...

I simply decided to ignore the DR rating, unless you want to compete with absolute best and go for the FIA championship it's really just an annoying artificial rating with so many faults that it rarely says anything about the driver, just like SR.

Thanks to this i just quit races without consequences
Get punted by a dirty driver, make a huge mistake, boring race, phone rings, dinnertime.. Exit the race.

And the racing is just as good, thanks to the old school and almost laughable way that gt sport match makes i usually find myself challenged by fast drivers and they are just as clean/dirty as others, maybe even cleaner.

Best part is that I enjoy the game more without the pressure

Have to be honest, I've really enjoyed the B race this week. I've switched between the M5, Corvette and the Lancer.

So far I've taken 1 win, 1 2nd place and a handful of 4th's. It greatly helped me recover my SR after the Final 2 FIA races which were punt-a-thons in the groupings I got and my DR is looking almost as healthy as it was at the start of the FIA season.

Ran some dailies yesterday for the first time in awhile.

Not much has changed. Overall I had a good experience because I love racing, but wow, the dirty drivers are still everywhere. I even ran my EMEA account, which I haven't done in a very long time.

I think the drivers in EMEA definitely seem more skilled, but that doesn't always mean they are cleaner. If I had a dollar for every time somebody dramatically changed lines under braking, I'd have a lot of dollars today.

The NA drivers seem to be more often dirty by mistake and desperation or lack of car control. The EMEA drivers typically had better control, but still made a lot of desperation moves and questionable defenses.

In NA, I was getting punted at almost every T1 in Race C...even when I would purposely brake late and go deep to allow for the mistakes of those behind me. So almost every race I was playing catch-up.

In EMEA, the starts were cleaner, but trying to go for passes on these guys was a huge risk anywhere on the track. I would get a good run and move to the inside, they protect the inside so I move to the outside, then they just move back to the outside and squeeze me off the track in the braking zone. Or, they would outbrake themselves, go way too deep into the corner, then desperately try to cut back towards the apex where I am and knock me off. Or if I would just stay on the outside and try to make a pass there, I would brake late and go deep to leave plenty of space on the inside, going 2-wide through the corner...then the inside guy would just mash the throttle and take the normal racing line out of the corner, pushing me wide off track. Happened in every race, all at SR-S. Had several opportunities for wins all denied by dirty or desperate driving.

Anyway, a bad day racing is still better than a good day working, or however that goes :dunce:

I've had the same experience with other drivers (also EMEA, that's all I race).

People being too aggressive in corners I can handle, I sort of take it for granted and I'll only pass if I can pass them cleanly without depending on them being fair. Like if I can out-brake them entirely or go for a cut-back on the exit. Not being able to go two-wide through a corner or trusting them not to shoulder me off on the exit is fine and expected, I can drive around that.

Not being able to pass them on straights because they're weaving like F1 cars behind the pace-car is something that still upsets me though. Like, I'm clearly faster than you and I would beat you in the drag race to the next corner but not if you weave like a drunkard not letting me pass.

That stuff ain't cool.

Some laps in the Pug at Alsace.. It's not the car I would like to drive here as it has pretty poor brakes haha! but got it down to less than a second off the leader which was enough to call it a day :P

I can imagine the carnage in the race on turn 1 with this cars crappy brakes having to take the wide line entry for a fast exit :scared:👍

I'm surprised at how competitive I was at Daily Race C this week. By the weekend I was consistently hitting around1:43.5. I was even regularly getting purple S1 times somehow. I scared myself this morning when I managed to do a 1:42.9 on a lap where I didn't even notice my sector times (proof that I drive better when I'm not distracted by a cluttered HUD). My previous fastest times were 1:43.2 and I assumed I couldn't get any quicker than that. I ****ed up the next lap because I was so shocked at the time  then I decided to revisit qualifying and went from a 1:42.542 to a 1:41.799.

The first turn at Nurburgring GP is such a joke. Nearly every race I started in the top 5. The cars ahead weave down the straight because their only concern is slipstream. They take a defensive inside line to the hairpin. I stay on the outside, brake early, and watch the radar, and just wait. Someone from the midfield comes flying past well beyond the braking point and slams into the cars ahead at the apex like a bunch of bowling pins. I turn in on the normal racing line and weave through the carnage. This happened in 90% of my races. In one race this morning I started P3, stayed outside into Turn 1, car behind me came through and took out the two cars ahead, I cut through and led the entire race to a win.

Self-preservation has to take a priority until things settle down, people! Then you can race! You can't afford to worry about slipstream ten seconds into the race!

even in race b people are immediately weaving to the inside to avoid slipstream as soon as the race starts. like do they really think they gain that much? i just stay left and catch them at T1 anyways

Hoping for the Mazda Roadster Touring car, expecting the 86.
I feel like this one is due for it's first daily race. 👍

However, I don't believe the PD racemasters are cool enough to do that.

Had a canny week at Suzuka, penalty system is annoying but it is what it is.
Lots of good races, on the podium quite a few times & even got a win which is always good.
At certain tracks I get a numb right hand from gripping the controller too hard, after Suzuka's S turns I'm not entirely sure my hand still exists
:gtpflag:

Ran two late race B tonight. In the post of the first I got called dirty for weaving. As in moving from side to side through the esses...
I did get a well deserved penalty in that race, at the penalty zone Ias serving .5 for track and pulled out to circle the one ahead serving 2.
Didn't pay attention and pulled out in front of a British driver in a Porsche.
Got 2 sec for that, as I should.

A - Blue Moon Field Infield A - N200 (car unknown)*

B - Spa - Gr. 4

C - Autopolis - N200 (car unknown)**

* Possible car for Race A could be Mini Cooper '05, as this combination happened a few months ago.

** A while ago, there was a Daily C Race (N200) at Autopolis with the Toyota 86 GT. The tire and fuel multipliers look the same as last time, so it could be the same exact combination that we are getting next week for Race C. If this is the case, then this is an easy no stop; adjust brake balance to even out tire wear, and go all out.
Called it for Race A and C.

PD went from giving penalties because of small bumps to legit giving penalties without any contact , so frustrating this game is, never saw something like this before, a total joke!! How can i report something like this?
i was on my own, trying to stay out of trouble,no contact whatsoever then bam FFS

It wasn't a contact penalty, it was a penalty for passing a car under a yellow flag. You should be proud though, that's actually a very rare penalty to get

Since that was a Yellow Flag penalty, I'm guessing that the flag was issued for the ghosted car, but not for the car that was at the side. So in the game's mindset, you passed the unghosted car under a Yellow Flag. Nothing you could have done, it's the penalty system being its own dumb self.

Has to be the closest top 10 ever  0.120% region gap separating the entire top 10 is insane. Here's my lap (rank 9, rank 10 in the world):

T3-T4 line is definitely not optimal and not the line you should do  (I lost a tenth and a half), but it was the only thing that worked to stop me running out of hybrid too far from the finish  My optimal was 1:39.548 but even with a perfect lap that was never happening in practice, because in Gr.1 you kinda have to sacrifice pace in some sectors in order to have hybrid where you need it :indiff:

that car was clearly off-track, i guess i was supposed to hit the brakes and wait for it to get back on , so dumb

and to mention how many times the yellow flag penalty dont work , huge inconsistency :boggled:

Rare and inconsistent :D

Race A is turning out rougher than Alsace. Lota of close contact. Had a penalty in both my races for getting rear ended in the hairpin, but only lost 3 SR each race? So either they have adjusted the system slightly, or it is less SR for a penalty than for a blank SR down.

Edit: just got a CRB, they are worth at least 6 SR this time.

for me its not the amount I gain i just dnt want to give up the inside with a long run up to turn 1 ( suzaka, fuji, etc...) If I were to stay left there is always that chance for 2nd or 3rd place driver to fill that gap at turn 1 and guess what I will get pushed wide coming out or just door slammed. My feeling is if you are going around your taking the long way....

Did some laps in the mini at BMB earlier... It's super easy to misjudge the last turn and tickle the wall and stuff all your gains  But still it is frustratingly addictive when you get a feel for it 👍

Will try again later! Have fun with the new events guys

Yellow flag penalties are so stupid.

Probably expected you to stop and wait for the cars to rejoin safely

exactly,
It takes a lot of faith to go around the outside, especially with someone you dont know , I’d rather stay on the inside and give you space,

:bowdown:One thing thats growing into me is knowing which battles to fight,i usually defend if I’m certain our pace matches , otherwise ill gladly let you go, so we both wont lose a lot of time fighting for nada, A S I’m noticing a lot of drivers have mastered this craft too, a lot of times when i start on pole or top 5 and for some reasons i drop down the order , once i catch up with some guys at the back they even brake or lift to let me go, though still SOME will always try to fight, but you’d love to see it

PD is trying every type of combo possible , as long as they can shove this damn autopolis track down our throats .....I mean a toyota 86 / autopolis combo on race C what the hell?
