I have finally broken down and decided to try and learn the Nordschleife this week! I'm hoping to get comfortable enough (do you ever really get "comfortable" with this track?) to try Daily Race B by the weekend.
I have avoided the Nordschleife to this point because I have found it too overwhelming and intimidating, so I hadn't even tried the circuit experience with this track yet. This week I finally did all of the sectors and got gold on each. I'm only silver at this point on the full lap (7:08 so far), but will keep at it to try and reach gold. I haven't spent much time in the M6 Gr3 car until now either, but I kind of the like the way it feels and I really like the engine sound

.
I tried a few Race B qualifying laps in the M4. Since it feels somewhat similar to the M6 I figure I would use that car while I'm still working on the circuit experience. So far my best is 7:34. Hopefully I can get that under 7:30 and then have a go at the race.
So I have moved on from the "I dread the Nordschleife" stage, to the "Hey, the Nordschleife is actually kind of fun" stage, and now working on the "How do I get faster on the Nordscheife" stage.
The biggest thing I've learned so far is that there a LOT more stretches on the track where you can stay full throttle than I originally expected.
