From my experience race C is a lot worse in American lobbies than European for SR drops. The pace is at least a second a lap slower at DR B but the main difference is competence. So many people drop it on their own and give the car behind nowhere to go, a lot fail at even starting the races too. In Europe people tend to drive within their limits so most of the 'silly' contact is cut out, more often than not you can get a really good race.

I find the same comparing Asia & US. Another difference that would apply to both comparisions is that Asia and EMEA are both much bigger player bases than Americas, so the field in each race tends to be a lot more closely matched.

You never know why they're lifting either. Maybe their car got unsettled going over a kerb, or they jerked the wheel too hard, or they feel their line is off and they risk either jumping the right-hand kerb or running wide at Raidillon collecting a cut penalty.
There's several valid reasons to lift there, so definitely give yourself breathing room when following another car!

You can't leave anybody space at the start of the race because you will get ran over from behind and the car in front always gets the SR drop.

Three of the last five race C's I've done peeps have attempted two and three wide through there on lap one. Twice I've had a reset to track happen exactly where my car happened to be.

I don't think the pole option is totally safe either because you're in the danger zone for La Source. If you brake later to get more space you compromise the exit and are vulnerable all the way up the hill. I say go aggressive and just hope it works out.

Imo even with all the shenanigans it's better than the rolling start with the huge gaps.
 
Rolling start on Spa is ridiculous. We had a daily race B there a few weeks ago and P1-P2 started after Bus Stop, P3-P4 started inside Bus Stop, P5 in the entry to it, and everyone else after that. P4 started the race by going hard left into the exit of the chicane otherwise they drove straight into the pit wall!

Every race was P1-P3 pulling away and everyone else battling for P4 and down...
 
Well I did three race C's from the back earlier looking for clean hard racing and picked up about 1500 DR but lost 24 SR. After dealing with dinner I went back to get the SR back (again starting from the back) and took three races to get back to SR99 .... with a net DR gain of about 1000. Happy days :gtpflag:
 
Always surprised guys do not pit the second they see their nearest competitor pit. I usually start on hards as i figure the first lap or two is tussling about and you lose the advantage of medium tyre grip vs hot lapping. Usual fiasco into T1 but ended with pole sitter (half second faster than my time), myself and one other guy way out front. I knew they were on mediums, could just tell from the lines they could take, eventually they got by me but I annoyed them for 2 laps. other guy dropped it trying to pass pole sitter so down to two of us.

Pole sitter is faster than me but not by a ton, has 6.5 seconds on me as of lap 4 when i pit. I immediately take chunks out of his lap time but he circulates for a further two laps, like dude, PIT. I was 2.5 seconds up when he exited the pits and even fresh hards are no match for 3 lap old mediums.

He would have at least had track position but those extra 2 laps killed it for him.

Good morning friends.
Last nights final A race was a very rare quit from me. I took a penalty of on second for some minor contact and was too tired to race so I optioned out.

I find myself beginning again at A. Hopefully I will recover to full sr, without issue...

Edit Watching the replay last night the guy didn’t take me out on purpose he just had no TCS so mid spin out he speared me off. Lol

I’m in on the A race for some morning mirth. I feel like some don’t like the car, but it’s got pretty good pickup, I like it.

I knew the two guys behind me were having a feud. It was made apparent before the race even started.
Unfortunately, I couldn't create enough separation before we reached the final turn.
I think the wall collision would have certainly sent my driver to the hospital.
The crash, plus the penalty sent me to 8th. :indiff:


The guy who took out P2 and myself, got the win with no penalties. :rolleyes: He also didn't say anything to me afterwards. :irked:

Btw, how dare you pass me? So rude. :lol:

I use controller also, and the last turn there is really tricky for me, because it's a coin toss on what the A/T will do. I have to to make a really fast adaptation. If it gives me 4th, I can hammer the throttle and cut it a bit lower, but when it stays in 5th, I have to hold back a bit more and tap the go button until I know I can make it, without touching the dirt.

I go in hard, release the throttle & tap the e-brake which shifts the auto into neutral, and bleed off speed in the turn while passing everyone up there, then full throttle near the end of the turn. Everyone else is fighting the throttle when you can coast through it faster.

On wheel you gently brake bring weight forward on entry which cause a touch of oversteer which you shade the steering straight or maybe a few degrees left to avoid scrubbing on turn in (very slight )then roll onto full which squats the car and keep throttle pinned all the way through. It’s de lic ate. De lib er it.
It doesn’t matter what anyone uses though, no one else can tell anything in race except car position, pretty much.
So it doesn’t matter.
The only thing that matters is can you race or not.
You must be amazing passing guys while coasting. I now worship you.
But yes, in reality for the best time that turns flat from I dunno 150 meters from apex?
Always hate having to lift there or coast because my laptime (and the next laps) get destroyed from lack of speed.

Fuel consumption is turned on, so probably not that. Since it's standing start I'm betting another open-wheel race. The length of this race kinda rules out the RB Jr., and the RB Competition doesn't seem to ever be used outside of FIA races, so that leaves the Merc F1, Super Formula (but only 1 of them if it's a 1-make), or the F1500T.

I REALLY want it to be the F1500T...
 
Any Gr.1 VGTs though? McLaren, Alpine?

Haven't really played much of GTS and didn't realize that Race C was at Spa this week. I decided to give it go with no real practice and no qualifying. Figured I'd be ok since I just love the track......lets just say this was an "interesting" evening and if the cars in GTS were to disabled when people crash them, i think only a handful of people would have finished those races.

1st race - starter P17 finished P6
That felt so good, I haven't played in so long and that gave me a bit of a confidence boost...granted, there were quite a few people dropping off left and right....also, I noticed a lot of people have mentioned that already in previous posts but I really cannot believe how much carnage that standing starts create :eek::scared:

2nd race - started P19 finished P8
Managed to avoid the carnage at the start and at T1...race was relatively clean, no mess, no fuss just managing my pace and keeping things clean.

3rd race - Started P17 finished P15.
Things started to unravel in that one. I think I got a bit cocky seeing how I did so well in the first 2 races. This time around, I did NOT avoid the carnage at the start :(. I had a good start but looks like some dude who messed up his, deliberately put me in the wall with a pit maneuver when I went to pass him. As the race progressed, I had the misfortune to cross path with said dude on a few occasions. He took me out not once, not twice, not thrice but 5 freaking times...5 times for 🤬 sakes!!..and then there was another guy who would just lightly bump me and every time he did, I was the one getting penalized and losing SR. Started the race at B/S and ended with B/B....meanwhile that guy who took me out those 5 times.....his rating was still B/S and I don't even think he lost any SR and if he did, it wasn't enough to drop his ranking at all :banghead:

4th race - started P19 finished P12
Seeing how the last race was an experience to forget and since I wasn't quite sure about the crowd I was racing with, I took things a bit more conservatively and ended up gaining all my positions from people wiping out.

5th race - Started P17 finished P4
Thank God that one went well because that was my last race of the night and possibly for a little while. I did really well with escaping the carnage and gained a few position while racing other folks. Good battle at the front with some fair and clean racers.

Would have loved to keep going but those 5 races were all I could managed this week and with a busy weekend ahead, it's unlikely I'll be getting any more track time. I'll say though, even with all the frustrations from racing with some of the jerks on GTS, that last race was a good reminder that it can is still fun.
