I'm running the Cayman from the back, 5M/8S. Overtaking TT drivers on mediums in the latter stages is like stealing candy from a kid - they have no apex and exit speed.
Do people really enjoy driving these :censored:boxes?
My qualifying time was done in a TT, but I drive the Jag in race. The TT is too susceptible to tire degradation and I find I’m much quicker with an 8s/5m strat in a car that stays consistent.

My biggest problem with this combo is the people who think there’s no problem throwing it up the inside and then driving an understeering FF to the track limit on exit. The number of times I’ve been pushed onto grass is ridiculous.

I am getting a great deal of satisfaction from overtaking those chumps when their tires go late in the race though.

I remembered the name when I saw it before the race. I was sure that one of my friends had a problem with him, and I should probably punt him.
Was it you? I'll take care of it, next time I see him. I'm at 99, so it doesn't make any difference to me. :mischievous:

It was not me. I figured that I might see him sometime & just hassle him, but I haven't seen him.

Two months ago he was very quick at Brands Hatch in Gr 3. I watched him no-stop and win from midpack with almost zero tire wear. When he is not being a di ck he can race.

He must not be very good with St. Croix. But, since he made an "idiots of the week" video, he showed me that he has no patience to learn & would rather push cars off track. That's all I need to know.

Brands retains it's title as the track with the biggest delta between qualifying pace and race pace for me. I ran a 28 flat and have another half second in me but in the races I am well off that as I am careful not to go off, because if you do it's 10 seconds lost at Brands. As a result I am always slowly going backwards but as soon as I push it, bad things happen :grumpy:.

So decided to try the GT3. A few weeks ago at Sardegna these cars were brilliant fun but at NGP, well, what a crap experience. It has to be the tyres, they are absolute rubbish and totally ruin the experience. At Sardegna i was TC0 in qualy, here I am on TC2. Joyless.

He was fast at St. Croix. I also had run-ins with him there. He just tosses his car wherever, and then when he picks up the penalty for it he goes nuts. He is on my punt-on-sight list.

That was me sturk. He hit me off at St. Croix. When I caught back up, he showed his hand too early and I crashed him out. I made him famous with GT IOTW 12.

The practice on Fuji with that Toyota in the time trials a few weeks back paid off.

After only a few laps, posted a pretty good time, got pole in both races I entered, 2nd place in the first race, 1st in the second one...lol.

You really gotta rev it out to the redline to stay in the peak power band on the straights.

I actually kinda like that car now.

The tires are two steps harder this time. I loved it in Sardegna but had trouble adjusting here. Now that I have its good fun, the car is driven with a small slide the whole time.

Hi All,

I think this is my first post. I'm pretty new to GTS (since August) and have slowly been gaining confidence in the daily races, but I typically have only done the A series and occasionally the B, I have lacked the confidence to put together a solid 10+ lap race online. I didn't want to damage my own ratings, or ruin someone else's experience due to my inexperience. Having said that, I've always felt confident and consistent on Brand Hatch, so I figured I'd finally take the plunge into C this week. I did my first one last night and was able to move up 6 spots! Uses a Ferrari 458, 6 laps medium, remainder on soft. Great fun. I think the best part was I was able to get my SR jumped up to A finally. I never seemed to be able to get over B no matter how clean and mannered I was. Now to work on my DR rating. Any tips? (Drive faster, obvs)

Maybe see you all out there sometime this week. :)

The speed you carry through the first hairpin is ridiculous.

This week, both RaceB and C look good. Loved the 997 GT3 a few weeks ago and it seems several cars are competitive at brands. Only issue I have is I like to no-pit at Brands to gain places as you avoid traffic and just circulate alone but you're gonna have to race given the tyre needs.
I am doing mainly race c this week. You either can choose Audi TT or Megane Trophy 11'.

Several strategies possible:
1. Audi TT (softs 6-8 laps then mediums)
2. Megane (softs 12 laps then mediums)
3. Megane (softs 7-9 laps then medium)
4. Megane (no stopper with mediums)
5. Audi TT (4-7 laps mediums, then softs)

I’d say keep ranking up in sr to big bright S. Most important is knowing where to brake. The cones help here also the driving line.
Know where to brake, brake early when behind a car, Defend your inside...
Don’t hit other cars. Drive a good line NEVER EVER miss a braking zone.

Not possible. Softs and mediums are required.

Yes this, not that some people notice/understand, I've seen mulitple 1 minute penalties again today.

I should add that I'm not laughing at newbies here. These are mostly A rated drivers that I've seen doing it, they must have played the game long enough now to know that there's often rules like this in place and it is not like it's hidden either.

As someone who just completed his first race where pitting was required, the rules weren't clear to me. It states pit stops were not mandatory, but showed the two "possible tire options" from how I was reading it. I knew from looking at videos online that many C races have mandatory pit stops, so I was a little confused with that. Luckily I noted other racers pitting during the race so I decided I should as well. Haha.

“I can outbrake anyone by 50 meters or more anytime I want”
I do that all the time, but sometimes I have to bleed off speed with a steering wiggle or scrape along a wall to avoid sending the car in front into oblivion.

Well shut my mouth. Watched that replay of the 458 blocking. Turns out, the reason for the big gap behind me:

Before I passed the 458, there was a battl between a TT and Scirocco. The Scirocco was quicker, but the TT was being a prick by running the Scirocco wide and eventually ran it off track, spinning after T1.
I get past the 458 and set my sights on the TT. Before the middle straight, I got a run and chose the exit line on the outside. TT ran me on the grass(I didn't mention it as I passed it anyway). Since it slowed me up, the 458 actually gave me a bump draft.

The TT had a penalty for running me off. When the TT served the penalty, the 458 stayed on the gas into the final turn to knock the TT off!
The Lord works in mysterious ways...:sly:

Why not the Scirroco? I find it turns in better than the TT and has more power than the Trophy. Dab the brake and she cuts in nicely whereas I find the TT is too stable.

Well, since you've found this thread, check it every Friday. Someone usually is watching Kudos Prime to see what the next week's races will be & typically you can be informed of any mandatory tire requirements. I think this is the first week of daily races where I've seen 2 mandatory tire requirements. Usually, it's only 1.

Good idea to bookmark this link as well... maintained by the good folks here:

I keep it in my bookmarks tab for GT Sport. along with Kudosprime, for me and my close friends, as well as the 'other' site, which has a great "Latest Race Results" feature.

https://gtsport.r1s3.net/ (save the link to the page when you've looked up your own ID if you want to always jump to your own stats, or any friends if you are following along with their FIA races etc.

My experience is, the Megane has the torque and pulls the Scirocco on straights. However, none of the other FFs can touch the Scirocco in the corners. Get off the throttle and it's the best at what it does. 3rd gear is money, which, to me, makes it the optimal FF choice for tracks with tight and transitional corners. :)

Trying to get my consistency down in race C. Still getting the occasional curb issue though. Just noticed that the TT drivers are starting to brake check on exits of turns to negate the cornering speed of other cars when the tires get worn down. Had 2 penalties in 2 races now where the TT brakes again on exit, but they are still dead on the racing line, they aren't drifting wide or at risk of going off. That and aggressive bombs from people are making it a challenge.

Sounds like I need to equip my cars with a cow catcher. :mischievous:

I dont know, it just seemed weird and deliberate since they had passed the iffy part of the exit to where you should be flat flooring it, next thing I know there are brake lights going on in front as I am closing way too fast to stop. Oh well. New tactics to deal with. Maybe if one of my known barge and punt enemies gets on my tail I have a new weapon.

Sounds like I might make some new barge & punt enemies this week. My dark account is still in the toilet, so what harm could it do to dish out the medicine. :mischievous:

Race B is a blast 👍, also Xmas smilies :D:cheers::lol::gtpflag:

Race B is terrible, the track limits are all mixed up. You cut the chicane hard and get no penalty and barely cut some other corners and although it loses you time you get penalised. Why can't it just be you cross the line you lose. Race A is the same with some corners actually quicker by going wide. Still race B is fun, just not fair.
Bah humbug

I have been running only B this week, maybe 15 races, and I haven't had a single track penalty.

That’s just GT Sport in general, The Real Corner Cutting Simulator. Just wait until you get to LeMans! You just have to learn which corners can be cut, and by how much, as you learn a track. Best bet is to watch a Top 10 lap, even if it’s just to see what lines they are using, and which corners they are cutting.

Just had a screw up, but it worked in a great way in the end. Started race C in p2 In the Trophy, starting on softs behind a TT. Get right on the bumper of p1 for 3 laps while those behind fall off on mediums. P1 pits for mediums in lap 3 (not going to work well is it?) So I get the lead. Pull a big lead pushing hard but smooth. Pit end of lap 7 and put on softs again. :banghead::dunce:

I still have the lead, but decide I'm going to push and see if I can get a pit gap again. Turns out I was pulling away and those behind were pushing so hard as they thought I was on mediums that they kept making the mistakes I normally do, running wide or clipping curbs. Manages to pull a gap enough to fix my screw up and finish with a win. I'll take it as I have struggled the last couple of weeks, but even when i win i still make a big mistake. Whatever, I'll take it.
