N24 is going to be interesting. In Manufacturers, we get 2 laps at the Nord. 2 laps at N24 X5 tyre wear. I'm going the RC F for both of those races.

Merry Christmas all. I'm waiting for my horrendous driving to be featured in someone's video. So far escaped as I suspect I am too low ranked.

Re. N24, there was a 2 lap GR3 race there recently. It ended up being a no stopper, so i can see the same here with lower power of GR4.

from what I remember
GR3 - 24h - 8.20 was a good time
GR4 - Ring - 7.10 was a good time
I would guess something in region of 8.50 - going to be a 18 minute race pretty much.

Merry Christmas everyone!!

Had some fun races at Seaside tonight, this was the highlight of the evening for sure. :)

That was a fun one! Right at the line it put a big grin on my face and I lol’d.
Honestly I think DTS is the best track in online racing, aaaand of course you gotta have a Christmas track...

or two...

Merry Christmas friends :)

New races for the next two weeks

A) Race A Big Willow N400
B) Race B Red Bull Ring GR3
C) Race C Nurburgring 24H GR4

D) Race A Tokyo South Outer Loop GR4
E) Race B Monza GR4
F) Race C Interlagos GR3

A) Big Willow. Yes! N400. No!
B) Might be worth a shot. Qualify good & get yourself through T1L1 quickly & safely.
C) A slower chance for an SR drop.

D) Not a Tokyo fan.
E) Two Gr. 4 races in the same week? Something smells fishy.
F) The normal speed SR drop.

Wonder what GR.4 cars at Tokyo.

FF most likely. Didn’t think they would do a strictly FF race & a full field Gr. 4 event in the same week.

Woke up. Jumped in the baby Big Lex. Pole, FL, CRB, win.

I understand your logic, but that would still be a "full grid" of FF cars. Last Gr.4 I recall at Tokyo, was a full grid. Could be a One make this time, is what I'm wondering. Last Gr.4 one make, was the 458 at Autopolis. Went real well.

I wouldn't want to ruin someone's Christmas but I did by this incident.

TBH, I did surprised him from that TTs mess that he just exited but the response was already enough to upset him.View attachment 980632

There's your mate, P6. We'll see what happens.

Edit: Look like he was well behaved in this one. No post race comments from anyone.

You can tell that I didn’t drive that race last time.

2 Race Bs yesterday and today. Good racing. Been lucky. Stayed blue. Gained DR.

Got my DR to pretty much the highest it's been. One more week to try and hit DR A this year. :D

4 race B's so far. Bleeding SR which leads to bleeding DR. Everybody being off for the holiday seems to have brought out the argy-bargy. I've had to give some back, so that explains some of it.

And then I get barged by a Scirocco...who promptly leaves the room. SOB.

Christmas Surprise !
Been cruising around the Dragons Tail, just for fun, usually a Hellfest there so wasn't expecting much.
Then, noticed my consecutive clean race had hit 9.
Could I beat my record of 10 in a row ?
Santa, & the other racers around me were kind. Hit 17 clean races in a row before I collected a spinner

Merry Christmas everyone

I love the hard racing you get down in the low DR lobbies!

I sometimes end up running towards the low-mid pack of races you’re in, and since I am seemingly unable to get my SR back to 99... yeah, I feel this pain in the most direct way possible!

2020 was a stinker of a year with Covid-19 and all. I started GTS in March and the game and this board became my respite. To all my new friends on GTP "Merry Christmas" and in future let's hope we can look back on 2021 as the great recovery year.

This is my personal top 10 GTS list for 2020.

10) Biggest-letdown-that-should-have-been-celebration.
My first win. I learned on the Daily A races which inevitably meant Tsubuka in a N100 Toyota Levin or something. On the final lap at T8, I was P2 and hit the inside of P1 to take the lead and win. I was elated with the win but even then it did not feel right. I know better now and wish I could do that one over again.

9) The-darkest-times.
My first 60 days with online GTS.

8) The-wake-up-gut-punch.
I was doing well, or so I thought. I found kudosprime after 60 days. The *average* driver had 12,000 points by day 59. I had DR=1853 and SR=38. Ouch! Looking on the bright side, on some days my SR points exceeded my DR points . I was lost.

7) Biggest-celebration.
Advancing to DR.B. I was not looking for it and was not yet fully acquainted with Kudosprime or DR points. Red Bull Ring and Gr4/RCZ were bringing success. Then one day I noticed the "B". Pure Joy! I look fondly on both RBR and the RCZ.

6) Biggest-Challenge.
My continued struggles with Group 3 cars compared to other cars... need to work on that.

5) Most-pleasant-surprise.
The Nordschleife. I avoided it all year due to its complexity and my inability to learn new tracks. Completing a Gr 3 Nordschleife two lap race with no penalties or offs is an accomplishment all by itself.

4) My-win-record.
My win record is about 2% and I am OK with that. I understand some of the darker methods that allow better drivers to gain wins in lower splits due to the SR/DR hits. Also, I am not going to win in the higher splits unless I up my game.

3) Worst-post-race-comment.
"Idiot" - I viscerally hate when addressed as such, deserved or not.:irked: Grrrrrrr! I remember those names.

2) Insult-that-should-make-me-mad-but-am-secretly-proud-of.

Maybe something was lost in the translation, but dunno, kinda like that one ;)

1) Best-Feel-Good
The wonderful community around GTPlanet. As I said before, if the rest of Social Media was more like this board we'd all be in better shape. Special thanks to folks like @sturk0167, @RacingGrandpa, @Groundfish, and others who actively and patiently answered my questions. Thanks to @Mistah_MCA and @Tidgney for the informative weekly videos.

Such a great coincide with my experience. I was not into games at all, decided to get a ps4 because of COVID.

Amazing post man!

I would like to also thanks everyone here because is a really friendly site to chat, hope I can share a lobby soon to enjoy some races. Also many thanks to @Mistah_MCA and @Tidgney because you guys really help people like me getting better and enjoy this game

Hahahah man I'm in SR hell myself after the Tokyo and BMB races. I just can't get out. Had a streak of 4 clean race bonuses in a row because I'm normally an A rated driver and I'm just running away with every race. Still can't get back to S, something inevitably happens, it's just not fun at all. I think I raced you earlier today. I was 2nd and got punted on T1 and then punted again T4 into oblivion. You get SR down for guys driving into you to boot, I don't think I'll ever be SR S again without tanking my DR. What wild is that I've been an SR S for nearly my entire GTS career and one week I get reset and stuck with poor drivers.

For me the stages of SR DR go something like this:

Stage 1. Drive clean build points
Stage 2. Points rise.
Stage 3. Now I care about these points
Stage 4. Practice hard race well
Stage 5. Get beat by a dirty move but it’s ok because I have high points
Stage 6. Get beat by dirty move, next race retaliate and get pen and or sr down
Stage 7. Ok gotta calm down just get a CRB, then get passed by dirty move, and get sr down without retaliating.
Stage 8. Screw this I’m getting him back
Stage 9. Get revenge but more SR down
Stage 9.5. I’m down to sr A now need CRB, car kisses rear bumper before going into wall, 4 second penalty, SR down.
Stage 10. Crap I’m in sr B just gotta recover, be careful
Stage 11. WHY WONT THESE PEOPLE STOP THIS ARGH!!!I JUST WANT A CRB WHY WONT YOU PEOPLE STOP HITTING MY CAR?!!!!!!
Stage 12. Low B sr now, patience gone, this is almost full chaos mode, depending on whether alcohol is involved could be straight to stage 15...
Stage 13. Sr low B punted turn 1 from pole, then more SR down trying to catch from last. Sr C now.
Stage 14. sr C. Enter race with bad intent, time to start smashing, but you still get beat because these C people are good at this, they do it all the time! Reset to D E
STage 15. Dr D sr E WAR ZONE!
Stage 16. Return to stage 1

Rinse repeat. As long as the stage 3 caring is greater than the anger from occasional dirty moves I’m fine.

This is too true lol! Really hits home. It's just that a lot of people in the lower SR lobbies have such poor awareness and/or track knowledge. For example you have guys going into the death chicane side by side and the guy on the outside doesn't back out even though it's certain death for himself and probably the guy next to him 90% of the time. In this situation, it goes like this (Speaking from experience) guy on outside turns in, bumps driver on inside, blasts himself into the wall 180 - 0kph. Driver on inside *SR Down* *4.0 Sec Penalty "Forced another car off track"* -20 SR points post race. It's usually things like that, getting brake checked in a zone where more experienced drivers wouldn't brake, even small random contact sometimes will give you an SR down.
