I just did a C race to score some SR points. I started 17th in the Mustang. I did 9M/4S.
I ended up in 9th, right behind @O604.
Obviously, I encountered a bunch of cars along the way. I didn't really notice any other cars that seemed to outperform mine.
I sure it isn't the best possible car, but I have no complaints.
I got my 18 points, even though there were 2 minor contacts. 👍

You made up a lot more time at the end than I was comfortable with. :p

I tried the 4C and although it's hard on the tyres it's fairly stable till they start to go, definitely worth a go especially if your tyre friendly, Doing 7M/6S and running my fastest races with it although the Beetle has still had the best lap it's no as consistent for me.

I have owned Alfas all my life but in this game they are near useless, you just et swallowed up so easily.

I hear that a lot. I have driven it for two FIA seasons and while I am slow I can hold my own with it in my DR class. I run it with BB 2 or 3 if there is really high tire wear. And that makes it rotate just fine. Too bad that PD decided to neuter it on the last bop

Did they? That explains it then, i knew something changed because I used to use it a lot and now it is always half a second off the pace.

Yes if anything the Hyundai seems the most populous car, odd given it is not great in a straight line. It is extremely stable but I just find it has a touch too much understeer at Interlagos through sector 2.

The softs are definitely quicker for the first 2 laps, hand down. But the medium hangs with it laps 3 through 6. Both are as bad as each other after that imho.

Will try the stang, a favourite of mine, but lately it always seems to be the 3rd or 4th fastest car for me.
I have always had good luck with the LEXUS GR3 the prototype seems a bit more stable but the regular one seems to exit better tried the Hyundai but ehhh.... rcz for me always seems like it wants to swap ends

I agree about the Mustang being fast, but I started 2nd in the RX-V. The way the rear rotates in the Mazda, I owned the Mustang after the PZ to the last turn before the straight.

We both started on RM and I got ahead due to the mUstang running slightly wide in the infield. I pulled away. Once we hit the straights, it'd gain a few tenths. Once tyre wear came into play, I was gapping over .5. Once I saw that, I pit on lap 8. It followed me. I saw my RMs weren't even that worn! Surprised even me.

In the RS, I just want extended that lead. Won by 12 seconds. The Mustang made no mistakes. My tyres weren't that worn either, compared to all the cars I've used.
We'll see how it goes in this next one.

I went off and a few of the leaders went of too though.:sly:
Still, also depends who are in your room. I had courteous racers around me. I thought the lead GT-R had to pick. So, I misjudged who to race. The NSX behind me went one lap further on the RM. It caught me on the final turns. Think I'll go one more lap, if I don't mess up. Nearly the same crew for this next one.

DANG! Disco'd.

I think the driver is a much bigger factor than the car.
Consider that one of the least used makes in Gr.3 & Gr.4 (Subaru) just won the FIA Manufacturer Championship, because the team driving it was made up of 3 of the world's foremost GTS experts.

If you put someone who sucks in the best car, I'm not gonna like his odds.

Next week's races

Race A Blue Moon Bay Speedway - Infield A N300

Race B Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya GP Layout GR3

Race C Dragon Trail - Seaside GR2

I think i will be racing next week at Barcelona with 911 rsr or with the Vantage. Race A may be fun too. Wonder what the car is...

Just looked at the tyre wear. The P1 GT-R and P3 NSX, were way better than the RX-V. Think I'll sit down.

As for next week's races, Barcelona could be switched out. We had that for FIA.
I'll probably be sticking with Races A&B. 👍

Next week gr2 seaside oh YA.

I’m surprised that no one has hopped in an Atenza yet at Interlagos. Last time it was better than Hyundai.
Was the Mazda recently nerfed or what?
I've seen a couple in races. At the back though. It's still got about 600BHP. However, it doesn't have the top speed that some players seem to want, over everything else - thanks to the Vantage.

just did a race at Interlagos. Besides some insucere drivers with strange breakmoves it was a lot of fun.
Nice pack of different cars. Started 7th with a quali on RN and ended up 5th.
Great track!

Race A is stinky. Players say Hi to me and then want to go side by side everywhere. I didn't press a P1 TT through the final esses, but the RCZs behind only se the chequered flag...ON LAP !!!. Like c'mon man, we have 4 laps to go. Why bother with that race?

Race C is proper racing, if you will.

Edit: WHodathunk the Slophy would hang on for the full race? A Veyron was kind at the start into T1. Was a bit hasty on Lap 2 at T1. It just went straight past me into the barriers.

So funny to see the times go up and down, to the cars in front and behind, after the corners.

Just gave it a lash in 2 races, its really pretty dang good, better than I expected. Probably my preferred car right now though had no time for qualy so not sure if I can beat my 1.30.4 in the genesis.

Tried the stang too, just does not have the brakes, really hurts the lap time. Big hairy chested engine does its thing but lose time into each corner.

Some players, in A/S races, are pitting lap 1, to run two stops on the RS. Seems to be working.... in those races. Going to try in the M3. SLS was okay, but been feeling a bit slidey with it.

This was my second daily "week" with N24/Nordschleife... I was looking forward to it... getting ready... it was going to be Gr 4... my thing... doing a few trial laps on Sunday... rubbing my hands... then Monday....

Who turned out the ****ing lights!?!

Sigh! Always a new challenge.

Overall the week was good but that track punishes every mistake. The crowned road invites you in, but, BAMM if you miss. My comfort level is now much higher and I can anticipate every corner of the track.

My achilles was the slight left 5th gear kink at Metzesfeld. It is inexcusable to go off there as there is so little to gain but stubborn pride. I kept trying just a slight lift and it worked 80% of the time which means it failed... hmmm... too many times :dunce:!! That corner requires a more conservative approach... give up a tenth and stay on the track.

Nordschleife is one of those tracks where driving ten tenths requires some serious skill. Especially in traffic. I've found that Metzerfeld you need to turn in, tap the brakes and then jump back on throttle and pray the tyres grip enough over the bumps to keep the car pointed where you need it for the right hander.

My downfall is the last righthander at Eschback, the turn in point is a lot later than it looks and I seem to carry too much speed into the turn most laps.

I'm digging Race C. That 10yo AMG, still has life in it.

I've found that the Lancer has potential here with this combo of tyres. It feels great on the Softs and you can really throw the car around where you need to. The Mediums are what they are, but once they warm up after a lap and a half you can get some decent pace out of them.

Was really excited for Race A this week, but Tokyo has quickly tanked my SR from S to B in a matter of 3 races.
Folks with SR S were really clean though, I just made some silly mistakes, so its really on me.

Will need to cruise around on Race C for a while.

Ditto, except I managed the SR tank in just two Tokyo-A races. I love that combo though. It was fun but painful. Off to Interlagos for some disciplined SR recovery and avoid a reset.

Wow.
I just had my worst race in memory after a couple great campaigns in the Mustang I ended up pole position in a B S room but on a song I chose the 911.
Man the driving in late evening is worse than I’ve ever seen. I was punted turn 1. I was punted at Decida de Lago lap 2 by a Brazilian full throttle from way far back.
I was sideswiped punted, annihilated basically.
I tried coming back, made some sweet moves with the 911, but was hit over and over. I kept getting pens too. The last straw was switching med med at the pit, then turn 1 car coming from off screen right WITH SPEED. spears my door and I get penalized.
The 911 is hopeless because of this.
It has no mass to fight back.
Omg finally I just cut the last turn on the grass smashed a guy off and quit.
This was 99 but B dr. I never race this late but wow these guys are turrible.
If I had to race like this each time I would have quit gts a long time ago.
Absolutely no hesitation from anyone in the lobby from hitting you.
I haven’t seen driving this bad in a long long time.
The worst part is, in a Mustang none of it could have happened that way.
It’s why to me it’s so pointless to bother with a finesse handling car in any online race in GTS.
I truly feel sorry for you if you play at night at BS.
It’s no fun getting into rooms like this at any time but in a 911? You’re screwed!
Next race every car in lobby except me takes one minute penalty.
Back to A sr. The Astons a beast.
