Did my usual this evening.
Race A I got into just in time so could not set a qualifying lap. Got a bad 1st lap. Followed a car off at turn 2 but manged to get past him. Then ran wide at the following righthander. This meant I was now about 2 seconds back. Thankfully those ahead were squabbling but clean it appeared. Caught up over the next two laps. The Italian ahead seemed to outbreak themselves into the hairpin and I gained a place. I was then following a fellow Brit. I seemed quicker than him but there wasn't the right move on and he positioned well. On the last lap a Spaniard spun on the back straight and I gained another place. Then coming out of the double lefthander the Brit ahead runs wide due to my pressure and I grab a third place and cross the line 9th. I will have to go here again and set a time to see how I do.

Race B. Went for the 911 as it just felt stable to me. Qualified 9th. I got a run on the guy ahead and managed to pull a bit to the car behind. I overthought about the braking zone and missed it. I sailed off and must have glanced a car as I got a 2 second penalty. This put me down to last but one. I immediately gained a place at the turn 5 left. It was then a story of making my way back up through the field through penalties , offs and overtakes. I eventually found myself behind a Czech in a R8. I enjoyed a great battle for half a lap. I got a run on him out of a few corners but they held it round the outside well enough. Eventually I got under him into turn 5. However he turned as if I wasn't there. This caused him to wiggle and a Romanian (with a penalty) passed us both. I got the Romanian after the PZ. However turning into turn 10 I get a nudge from the R8. He wasn't happy he turned in on me and wanted to let me know. He got past and a 1 second penalty. (The system does work!) I fend the recovering Romanian off and made sure I got close to the R8 to benefit from the penalty. A Spaniard binned it at the final turn and I got another place. However the R8 got a bad final turn and I got alongside him. Of course then he tries to nudge me towards the pit wall and I stand my ground getting the place on the track before the chequred flag waves. Thanks to his penalty he lost a further place to the Romanian which he wouldn't if he hadn't nudged me. I called him an idiot and left the room with my 10th place. It was a recovery drive and felt good.

Race C. Quite enjoyed this one. Qualified 13th. The car feels really good here. I gained a few positions on the opening lap due to skirmishes ahead. I was following an Italian and quite enjoyed the swapping battle we were having. I got a good exit from the double right, but must have been too good as the car jerked right and into the wall. Reset and back to 15th. Got a few places over the next few laps mainly because I got good runs through the COD. (No issues for me there this race.) Pitted and continued to make progress. Crossed the line 10th due to a couple of people not using both tyres. Will be doing this one a fair bit this week.

Tried them all and boy do I suck.
A is really hard to control, but I'm getting better so it's a good teacher.
B is another really tight race with few good overtaking places making it bump passes and it's annoying
C is again my go to, although I need to learn so will do the others, but I'm painfully slow. Using tactics I usually manage to make a place or two, but really need more speed.

I really need to take a chill pill though, as I'm raging at too many people. Although it is really funny when they try and call me out in chat. OH look I see someone I know:D

I am going to stick with race C again this week but I don't think I am going to be troubling the front end of the race at all, at least not for a few days. I do ok running the mediums but as soon as I switch to hards or run hards I just go backwards even against others on the same tire.

Hoping I can improve but if nothing else I will be happy to maintain DR / SR over the week.

Penalty system worked in my favor for once.
Included their point of view as well, incase you'll think it was my fault somehow. :dunce:

Was able to catch the car mid turn by braking slightly and carry a good amount of speed to follow them.
Even if they didn't get a penalty, I had a decent chance at the next hairpin with the speed difference.

Liking Race A this week, SR recovered to S again, after all the shenanigans at the Tokyo track.

European tracks (even fictional ones) with Japanese super cars are my favorite combos. Well anything GR. 2, but this feels a bit like the Spa combo awhile back. Hoping to get plenty of runs in this week. From previous posts looks like tire strategy comes into play and, of course, the cruel CoD. Good luck and hope to see y’all out there in Race C.

after watching it from your point of you I was thinking he deserve the penalty for pushing you wide but when I view it from his point of you he did have the inside line and you came down on top of him

I’ll leave it up to people know more about racing than I do to determine

If they were going for the inside line, even after bouncing off my car, they still don't make the apex. Way past the apex, they are still off throttle trying to get the car to turn. I haven't used the 350Z in that race, so I'm not sure about what racing line is possible with that car.

Braking very late, way past the 100m board, I was trying to gently bring the car to the apex. I agree with you that it seems like I turned in, but that wasn't intentional. I just didn't expect a move from that far back. It's possible my line was too tight. :boggled:

The penalty is warranted. The trailing driver used the leading car as a brake.

Good evening friends,
Looks to be some fabulous combos on tap this week. I spent last week in Brazil. I raced many many times. I won, I lost, I fought, I killed, I was hurt bad, and I fought on more.
Interlagos draws many powerful opponents to battle and they fight hard. Some fight fair, some don’t. I’m going to miss it very much as I always do. On GTS Interlagos is not a place. Interlagos is about the people.
This is what I saw there last week...

I look forward to the upcoming races this week. I’m starting at 99sr, but just one eye.
My most interesting races last week were when a Canadian in a Supra started second behind my vette, similar paint scheme, race 1 he just sat .2-.5 behind me until lap 7 or eight without ever making an aggressive move. He trolled me well. I swallowed the olive and spun. He was victorious. Race 2 I was victorious.
Thank you strange Canadian livery trolling fast guy. You are alright in my book.

Cheers

Liking the Mustang. It's my Trans-Am style car so far. Funny to notice the lack of cornering downforce, compared to the MR/RR cars. No matter. It's a formidable machine amongst the FR choices.

Wow how good is seaside with group 2 cars and some grip? Absolutely outstanding. On fresh mediums, man, never felt so much grip.

Been starting on hards and doing ok, make up most of my places through others mistakes but pace seems ok. Qualy a 29 flat but optimal a 28.4 so there's more there. For me, 100pc 7 and 6 , I may even try a 2 stopper.

Ah, I did a race C yesterday and these cars are just not for me. High downforce and me don't go well together I guess.
Race B looks interesting though, I might bring out the Porsche that got me so much success at Interlagos. All depends on the Quali time I guess, since I don't do many Race Bs.
Might run some As on the alt, looks a bit tempting.

Oh dear

Race C is really fun, DTS suits Gr.2 a lot. You can actually do some overtaking here unlike the tracks they typically put Gr.2 on (especially Autopolis and Suzuka). I set a time on my 2nd account to start around midpack in decently crowded lobbies and it's made for good racing

It's just a shame that they made the mediums mandatory too as a no stop could've made things more interesting. I tried it in my first race and it worked out, went from 18th to 6th on track but back to 18th when I got slapped with a 1 minute penalty :dunce:

I love the pit stops. Feels more like a race. Two stop again.

How many laps on each?
1RH/7RM/5RM. Just like my last race.

Only one other player ahead of me, did the same strategy. Crashed while overtaking another car before the PZ. I slipped on by.

Edit: watched the replay. Thought the car crashed. I'm getting old.

This was the overtake. Out lap from the car that pitted ahead.

Why 7/5 for mediums? Is it to avoid pitting at the same time as the 7/6 strats?
I watch when others are pitting, my pace to the leader and how much I'm catching the cars ahead.

When others are pitting, I have a fresher tyre before they pit and since my tyres are "warm", I have a better pace while someone on "cold" tyres has to take it easy before they come up to temps. So, I get a bit more of a gap when I do my second pit.

That's my comfort level though. I'm going for all out speed on the RMs, rather than managing an RH for multiple laps.

I keep learning cool stuff here. I have been doing the one stop exclusively but varying from 5h/8m to 7h/6m depending on where I think the clean air is. I don’t typically monitor the gap changes though.
Sounds like I have a new thing to keep tabs on.

Okay, I love Big Lex. That's no secret. However, this Mustang is giving the RC F a run for her money. Just like the Gr.4 Mustang, the Gr.3 car has tight off-throttle turn in. Corner exit acceleration may also be slightly better than Big Lex. At this track, the Mustang is getting it done.

Race A last turn people bounce off the wall and hit you but you get the penalty. I was in the inside lane, gave space more than needed. SR goin downhill.

What an unbelievable finish! May call it absurd...
I was sure the Brit guy won the race.
I'm sure he doesn't have a penalty.
I play the clip 1/4 speed and it's clear the Brit guy wins.
