Yeah i think the site is updating a bit slow. Top1 at EU still shows 1:49.0. Phils lap isnt on there yet as well.

hell top 10 world literally dominated with Japanese (+ Hongkong) that NSX abuser  I bet they saving so much time in 1st sector. Glad I get 262nd in world with that 1:51  Only one from EMEA in top 25 world eh?

I honestly wouldn't have said those times are possible, amazed isn't even the word, can't wait to see a replay to find where I can gain time... I mean I know my optimal gives me a 48.0 but that doesn't explain the other 7 or 8 tenths, must be a big gain somewhere in the lap.
Also as has been previously said I don' think the EU times have been updated for some reason, as my time would put me 5th I think and there is plenty of time left for us all to drop time too

Well, I don't feel as happy now - more qualifying i think after work, mainly T1 and to a lesser extent the esses gains him a lot on the top EU times and then perfection everywhere else too it seems. Great lap. 2000 something miles on that car already though :D I though i was doing well on 700 odd

Everyone who plays GT Sport should have to watch races like these to learn how to race properly, a bit like having to go to church before you can get married in one.

That daft racing etiquette video is pointless because no one takes it on board

Maybe PD can do an update - instead of just the watching the sportsmanship video and being able to go online, they have to do some safety challenges (like the chicane at Monza) cleanly before they are able to race online.

I'm kinda on a bit of a high right now. Made a mess of the first chicane and braking later than I thought I could. Got shunted after unghosting but somehow managed to get back on track. I should do the warm up if only to see how messed up the handling is compared to qualifying. Anyhow, this was the result:

Passed P2 to get P1after they pulled over for a penalty. I was carrying a 6 second penalty, still not sure why. Not contact, probably cut a couple of corners just a hair too much. I managed to get a 5s lead over P2 but they gained a second near the end. I pulled over on the final strait, served my penalty but didn't get going fast enough and saw the two guys behind me pass before the finish line. Obviously one was carrying a penalty still .

True, but when @bmxmitch first recommended it, it was properly niche and a decent undercover weapon... now it is on the leaderboards most days for group 3 and, although I've now driven it for months, I look like a META sheep.

I usually go by what I read here as to what's trendy, although I rarely see the trend in my races. I never look at the leaderboards, it's like looking at the menu for a steak restaurant when all you can afford is fish and chips .

What happened in the final chicane?
Huh he the chicane is cut out ?
@Alpha Cipher Where is the footage as he goes through the last chicane, something odd there, is that something you did or is something else going on there? Still mad fast everywhere else though.
nani
Something must've happened. I just let the replay run
Anyway he cuts as much of the chicane as he could. Apex speeds on both is ~94km/h
I'll reupload the final sector

With other players that need to do that qualifying. Everyone has to do it minimum 10 times and if you cause trouble you'll have to make 5 more clean attempts. Some people will get stuck there forever

Why?!

Should have carried it over the line... you may have won!!!

Here's the 1:47.010 by Wolf_Aono

Wolf_Aono has been around for years, and has always been right up there with the very fastest.

That lap is, frankly, amazing. From entry to Turn 1, to entry to Degner, it's perfection... precise lifts through the Esses carrying maximum speed, perfect exit from the final part, then flat through Dunlop.

Sublime to watch skills like that.

It was tempting, just to cross the line first, but I gained P1 while they guy/girl in front was serving a penalty. I guessed they didn't have any penalty after that so I figured I'd try and knock down my penalty and possibly still have enough distance to win. I need to learn the art of serving penalties efficiently. More efficiently would be not to get penalties in the first place!

I raced from like 6 to 11 cest and didn‘t see you once. You nuked your ratings?

No. I'm high DR:A SR:S (99) but didn't see any of you guys in my sport. Infact my lobbies looked a bit strange. DR:S x1 then a 50-50 split of DR:A and B which I normally never see. Made a good result important as I would stand to lose a **** tone of DR if I had a hiccup. Races were amazing though. Really enjoyed it.

Was only on for about 3 or 4 races between 8pm and 12am. I was on and off as I had a mate over.

Crazy fast, but teleporting past the chicane? Lol. I need to learn that :)

First corner is nuts. Doesn't brake until they are well "into" the corner. The lack of brake input and how they carry corner speed is jaw dropping.

I need more practice, although I've barely touch the Gr2 cars yet.
The way he enter T1 should be the best way to avoid any bump from behind. No one can catch him lol:bowdown:

I wonder how many experiments he/she did (running wide, crashing, spinning) before nailing it? I'll be attempting this later I think.

P2:"I won't brake so I use u as brakes heheheeheh"
Wolf: "But... I won't brake in the first place?"
Here's the missing chicane

Is it me, or did he have another couple hundredths to shave off on the 2nd curb of the chicane at the end?
Not saying this lap isn't perfection - but I think he has room to go 1,46.xx
