Yesterday Gr.4 Bathurst, today Gr.4 Blue Moon Infield...
The next Megane Cup Season has finally kicked off :crazy:

As for Race B on Mt. Panorama : Did any one of you try both the Megane and the Viper ? What's your impressions comparing the cars in regards of that track ?
The Megane is unstoppable down in the Conrod straight, as it can easily catch you even from a mile behind, using the slipstream. Then knock you off at the chicane entry :nervous:
No more Bathurst daily for me, maybe only if one-make. Yesterday had 3 races, was murdered down to SR D as result :banghead:
I wish the penalty system was track sensitive. Penalties must have higher "tolerance" for such wild tracks. It should realize that e.g in Bathurst there is not so many places for any clean overtake, I at least couldnt name any. So even at your best you would touch the other car(s). Just see any Supercars race video and you see them riding door on door.
I try braking a tad bit earlier for an undercut at the first corner with better exit speed? 3 seconds. Dancing on the edge at the top of the mountain section braking into Skyline corner and another car sticks its nose? 3 seconds.
Rushing down Conrod at 260, the car behind you takes the very inside (actually way too much over the kerb) in the fast right bend, pushing me into the gravel.

It‘s been like that in Race A for a while now, I got lots of rubbing in the E30 and Alpine races last week but were never awarded with any penalties :dopey:
Thanks. It is a new "rule" in daily A? I'd win that race if I'm aware of this - and if I'd be that type. I was waiting 3 laps for the P1-P2 to battle but there was no clean room for a third car. Then in the last lap P4 arrived and pushed me wide. Lovely bending rules.

I however was able to always overtake them through slipstreaming with the GTR at the end of the straight to then gut punted off :lol:

I have no idea how much you can bend to rules there but it's definately like that you can give small pushes to others without even getting an SR down

quitting somehow preserved my clean streak
How? As you wrote, there were bumps and penalties all the way. I really cant treat this system serious.
Maybe the driving and car simulation could place this title somewhere, but this incompetent, faulty online system renders it being a low arcade.

That is what's not clear to me. I usually get penalized for every little touch I receive or give. Yesterday in those A race, nobody was marked red. Even the ones pushing each other all the way on the straight, offtrack, then back again onto anothers side, nobody. I don't understand, but slowly I admit it is my fault and I'd better let it go.

The Megane is OP. ...

I've raced both there, i prefer the viper but it is slightly slower ... the megane accelerates really fast and brakes well ... you can use it to make the game easier, but you pay a terrible price: it looks stupid.

Didn't get to race yesterday but did the qualifying ... with the Viper. Noticed that the top spots were all Megane so I got interested in hearing about the differences. Thanks.

@Pfoetiman
Sidenote : You've got a great avatar, mate 👍 !

@inri
Guess I'll use the Megane next time. Isn't it big fun for everyone racing a goofy looking driver in a goofy looking car :D ?

@bdz_apa
Chin up, you'll be back soon. For sure, racing the mountain needs lots of respect for your opponents and the track itself ;) ...

I swear I'll do :cheers:
But anyhow, Mount Panorama is gambling, more than other races. If you can survive the first few critical corners, you might be safe more or less. But if you find yourself in the meat grinder, then, well hasta la vista SR S

God damn Megane.. Never going to drive another fwd car in GTS.. Ever.

E-Tron @ Kyoto was very fun to hotlap.. But the race itself was a total disaster: DR down 1k. SR -13.

Probably gonna stick to gr-classes from now on. A lot SAFER to race.

I wish I'd select race C instead Bathurst. But was too lazy to learn a new car, so thought 3 laps mountain would be OK. It wasn't.
Infield A must be fun today.

The 4C is awesome around the infield. takes the hairpins and lh double apex with ease. It also has fast corner entry. Top speed wasn't as bad as i thought. Pulled away from a 458 on the main straight.

What aids are you using? I used the 4C once a long time ago and found it difficult to handle.

Did a couple of Brands Hatch races. Saw someone named GTP_Randy who I assume is from here, even went side-by-side with them down Hawthorns bend with no drama (though I got the losing end of that deal).

I gotta say, I'm pretty tired of people who can't drive well loaded up with CSA and ASM assists with their cars twitching around the track like a coked-out squirrel. Yeah you can still beat them, but they can drive all over kurbs and even grass with no issue and catch up to you as soon as you make a mistake. I don't mind that the assists are there, but there needs to be some handicap when you turn them on, like maybe reduced power or something, so there's more of a level playing field. For a track like Brands Hatch with a high risk-reward ratio, those assists provide a real competitive advantage when a tire in the grass can turn into a 6-10 second recovery. Those assists in effect negate much of that risk for them, and I just don't think that makes for as fair of a competition.

I never drove the E-Tron before today, gotta be the worst car in my garage, or at least even with my 4 Sambuses.:lol::lol:

Neither had I but I really enjoyed it. Regardless of the characteristics of the car it was a pleasure to drive once you learn braking points and when to plant the throttle. Did several races tonight in this. My Chevy Lightning Volt.

Amazingly I saw Sven Jurgens in a race for the first time tonight. I know right, the guy has only done like 10k races. After finishes of 5th, 3rd, and 2nd I qualified P2 for the next race and get a DC while in the lobby. :banghead: I really wish they could get this fixed. Anyway a nice night of DR recovery, Creeping ever closer to DR/A again where I will become midfield fodder for faster, higher ranked drivers. :lol:

Raise your hand if you tried to downshift the first couple times driving this car.

Before I heard everyone complaining about the M4, Now it's the Megane. In my races I didn't see any of this, there was always a fairly decent mix of makes.

Yeh, I too tried the 4C a while back and found it painfull. I'll probably try the Veyron again just to see if Bathurst was a fluke.

The Megane has been hated before it's first nerf and everyone was happy that it was never seen again after it. But now it's back :crazy:
Problem is, 95% of Megane Drivers that are not aliens race dirty :scared:
I doubt it is a OP cycle. The cycle is now go back to Megane that PD would never give us a true BoP.:boggled::lol:

ABS: stock; TCS:2, that's all. I tried it at Bathurst(Custom Race) and was spinning the rear. The thing has to brake in a straight line... then, turn. I was braking & turning(scrubbing speed, not trailbraking), which I found caused the rear to unsettle. I can brake & turn rwd and awd cars, but had to adjust for the MR layout.

I don't see the Megane has a menace. The real META of Gr.4 is the Atenza.
I managed to do a 1'10"9xx lap in Blue Boon Bay for Daily Race C, I don't see how to do it with the Megane.
Btw, Gr.4 is pretty well balanced. Some cars still need some nerfs, but the Top 10-15 is pretty close.

Daily Race A: OMR Megane - Kyoto Miyabi | 9 Laps
Daily Race B: GR.3 - Brands Hatch | 6 Laps | RH
Daily Race C: GR.4 - Blue Moon Infirld A | 14 Laps | Fuel: 7x Tyre: 9x | RH

Thanks!!!! And thanks for accepting my friendship request on the Oriental Front! :)

Megane is like what real bmw drivers are to the wotld then. They think they own the road.
