Megane is like what real bmw drivers are to the wotld then. They think they own the road.
??? I´ve already driven a Megane (GT Line) on real life. and never felt that... Same in GTS... Must be some problem on some of those with the food.. or the hormones... or both!!! Hum..or maybe also by seeing to much doses of the "Fast & Furious" series...

Megane is really easy to drive.. seems to be on rails... it's good but... i do like to put something of mine in driving and not driving a tram...

Yesterday with Megane i had my best time ever in Mount Panorama Gr.4, set on 2.11.822 but...

But really more satisfaction was having a low 2.12.000 with other cars where to obtain it was necessary hard drive...

What aids are you using? I used the 4C once a long time ago and found it difficult to handle.

Before I heard everyone complaining about the M4, Now it's the Megane. In my races I didn't see any of this, there was always a fairly decent mix of makes.

Yeh, I too tried the 4C a while back and found it painfull. I'll probably try the Veyron again just to see if Bathurst was a fluke.

Can't see it being mentioned previously so wondering if anybody else has seen the top 10 leaderboards for Infield A today?

My guess would be Meganes and maybe the odd Vantage too?

I am sorry to hear your view on real bmw driver.:nervous:

There are nice bmw drivers irl.:yuck:

I am a BMW driver. I don't lane hog. I know how to use indicators as well, and don't think I own the road.

*If you think BMW drivers middle lane hog on a motorway, it's because they tram-line like a bitch in the inside lane ;) It's a no go area.

Past's BMW driver's behaviour is now to be found with VAG drivers :dunce:

You're SpacedustDaddy from Australia? If so, I'm pretty sure I was in a race with you a few hours ago - daily race C at Bluemoon infield (my first ever online race at Bluemoon!). I was also driving the 4C - good car in the twisty bits, but a bit slow on the straits.

2nd victory this morning and 22nd overall!

I've racing from about 4pm.
SpacedustDaddy is a very familiar name... Not sure if I've already raced with you or if I've mistaken you for another person with a similar name :odd:
Can't remember if i've seen your name today.

Not sure, but the race I just finished, had the dirtiest driver in an RC F. Just went up the inside and tapping people wide. Maybe the driver was upset because of a little incident at the start. There was a bit shoving. As the driver recovered, I got the tail end after the RC F got jostled around. The 4C is very quick in the turns, Due to the aforementioned lack of top speed, I make up heaps of time corner entry, corner exit, off-throttle tuck in.

Finally, after a fair few goes and pitting on Lap 10 for a splash and dash.

Veyrons? Hmm... might give the 'vette a go. So far I seem to find the Viper is the easiest to drive.

It's interesting watching all the high powered cars braking early. If you can get a handle on the 4C, Nothing can touch it from Turn 1 entry to the last left hander re-entering the "oval". I'd like to see what a fast driver could do with it.

In saying that, I'll try the Vette as well(tomorrow as the next race is in 30 minutes  ).

Last race I did on the infield I found I did well by taking the turn back onto the oval with a bit of coast and a couple of gears up from recommended. The first turn I still haven't quite figured out, so I just wing it and hope .

Don't think I'll be racing tonight... stupid Sony!

The e-mail from sony came through, so I could finally log on and have a crack. Gave Brands hatch a go and some pre-qualification laps with the Corvette at Blue Moon.

Took the RSR for a spin. Wasn't entirely comfortable with it, somehow managed to qualify P8/16. The grid was mostly Dr/C with 5 of us Dr/Ds. The cars *always* handle differently in the race compared to qualifying, even with no tire wear or fuel consumption. I went into the kitty litter on the first corner, made the tight second corner on, and ended up on the grass for the 3rd corner. Got re-spawned in 15th position. By this stage I was pretty resigned to finish P15 or maybe P14. I just focused on staying on the track and trying to find ways to beat each previous lap time. Seems I wasn't the only one having a hard time! Every lap I passed cars that were off the track or ghosted after getting re-spawned/getting back on the track.

I kept my nose clean and made no contact with anyone that I was aware off, but in the last lap I was being more cautious with some corners and had someone behind running into me at most corners. If they weren't trying for the inside which was already occupied by me they probably could have set up a pass on the outside or got through the inside as I was coming out of the turn. Finished P6. Gained Dr and back up to Sr 99. Another race like that and I'm in danger of going up to Dr/C :nervous:.

Tried the Corvette on Blue Moon. I wasn't feeling it. I'll try a few other cars (I have about 20 to choose from). I'm confident that I can do a time a couple of seconds slower than 05XR8.

Had lots of fun in Race A on Willow Springs yesterday, closely matched fields and lots of tight clean racing. It was nice that small bumps didn't trigger any penalties.

PD does not get enough credit for Blue Moon Bay Speedway - Infield A. A phenomenal track for Gr4.

It's become my third favorite track right behind Interlagos and Suzuka.

Desperately trying to win on it this morning, but I need to get going soon :(

Weird, I found it to be a pain in the ass. The weight distribution on acceleration would always cause the front end to lift up like a motor boat and initiate understeer. I felt like I was constantly juggling the weight just to get it to turn correctly which required way too much lifting off the throttle and coasting through the apex. I only had it set to TCS 1 and Brake Balance +1 so I can't see that being the issue.

It's a great track. For the lower N-classes too. Loved the Mustang and Civic onemakes there. Normally I'd like tracks to have more altitude difference but Infield A is an exception.

I agree. Personally I just love that turn one dump off from the banked turn down into the infield. Everybody slams into that turn sliding sideway three wide like a mad max caravan, great fun.

Good one 👍

At DRD, I'd suggest you try the Huracan for the grp4 race at Bluemoon... it's 4 wheel drive, so you should get great exits from the tighter corners, you can't spin it, and for a 4WD car, doesn't have too much understeer. Sounds quite nice as a bonus :)

I don't see the Megane has a menace. The real META of Gr.4 is the Atenza.
I managed to do a 1'10"9xx lap in Blue Boon Bay for Daily Race C, I don't see how to do it with the Megane.
Btw, Gr.4 is pretty well balanced. Some cars still need some nerfs, but the Top 10-15 is pretty close.
Problem is the Megane's dominance on the straights. A Megane driver can mess up an exit and still catch up to you. The Atenza is lacking straightline speed a bit, so that won't happen the same way. Also you can actually overtake the Atenza with a good corner exit.

Good one 👍

Thanks :D.

That would be great, except for some reason I don't like roaches. For a bit of hypocrisy thrown in I seem to find the NSX acceptable...probably my inner ricer . Tried the Viper which gave me 2 seconds on the Corvette. Figured with all the trumpeting 05XR8 gave to the Alfalfa I'd try that. It certainly does the tight corners well. I think I could shave another second off my Viper time.

Great fun in the Viper. It’s got a bit of a street circuit feel to it with the proximity of the walls which, along with the fast nature of the circuit itself, makes for a thrilling experience when you nail a good lap.

At lower DR's the Megane is very strong on most circuits because it's easy to drive, impossible to spin, and has amazing straight line speed.
At higher DR's where cornering speed becomes so much more important and mistakes are few and far between the Megane is really only good on a select few tracks.

Unfortunately the GR.4 meta right now is very 4WD heavy with only a handful of RWD cars being competitive.

I'm at upper half of B which is quite mediocre I guess. But I see the same phenomenon. On Bathurst, it is a problem because there really is only one spot for clean overtakes and it's very very hard to get past a Megane there. I find the Atenza, WRX and Evo easier to drive as they don't have this massive understeering behavior but they lack straightline speed in return (which is good).

The thing is: The BoP update for the Megane was totally uncalled for, the car was fine as it was.
