The Gr1 Monza wasn't the fun I expected :D

Horrible crashes.. Lost horrible amounts of time if I avoided them.. I've had enough of Gr1 cars for a while.. Somehow they feel a bit unrealistic with the wheel? Maybe the Bugatti feels like a car but the others feel weird. Lost a bit of DR and gained a bit of SR.

Nice to see the C7 road car return. Had few of my best races with it on Big Willow. Only have an hour or so for racing today :(

Haha, i actually thought you loose all your SR points there. Good to hear that you managed that race well. Congrats! Yh, the races at Bathurst were awesome. Not the first one, but the the others :D
We pushed it to hard sometimes, the walls come to quick on the mountain

Not very keen to participate in today's races tbh :boggled:

I did a couple of Q laps which was fun, but avoided the race given my experience on Monza last Friday.

Did two races in the 208, got a 4th with door number 7 and a 1st with door number 9 :D resulting in a gain of 1004 DR points

C. Kyoto Yamagiwa GR.3 sounds good for me. Hope we see us later again :-)
I still don't get why we were matched together as your DR is like 15k points higher than mine

Haha, i don't know, sometimes the matchmarking is drunk, but it makes more fun with friends :-) I think sometimes there don't exist free lobbys with S/S A/S, and then it gets mixed up with S-D/S... weird...

Had a great day at the Mount today the DR went from 19000 to 25000...although I must say I felt a little dirty in 1 race. Did a no stopper and came 2nd (started 3rd ) it just doesnt feel like racing cruising around saving the juice

6000 DR points?!

And what difference does the door number make?

Essentially it is in order of driver ranking. So, if you finish better than your door number that means you are beating higher ranked players than you and will gain more DR points. Likewise, if you finish worse than your door number you are being beating by people worse than you and you will lose more points. In general.

I assume there is data to back this up as I have seen nothing.

For example, if I am DR A in a race of 20 with four other DR A and 15 DR D, how is my door number 11?

Read the link... there is a glitch for races included D and C drivers (sub 10000) as, it seems, the system sorts numbers alphabetically... so a C driver with 9000 points is sorted higher than an S driver with 75000 (as 9 is greater than 7)

It clearly states in that thread that door number has no impact on scoring.

What do you mean by scoring? DR points awarded?

So, as he says, there is a rule of thumb... beat your number (generally) gain points, lose to your door number (generally) lose points. Except where C and D drivers are grouped with B or above.

So to contextualise to my comments which you originally quoted: I am a B driver and was grouped firstly all with Bs and then with Bs and Cs. Hence my higher door number in the second race.

Yes, a rule of thumb. One that doesn't work very well at all in most cases :)

It works fine if you have a middling door number, but only coincidentally, because...

Top or bottom half is a much better rule, and rank (door number, unbugged) only needs to be thought about for extreme cases (e.g. a high A or S in a room of Bs).
