I agree guy's penalty system now in GTS is very much off (mho!) - Today I had my racing line just fine into 1st corner (Maggiore) when this "mr. overtaker" is determined to get in front of me for any reason... twice making contact (first when he squeezed through on my left side and then when he came back into the racetrack as a "no-ghoster" I then touched his rear as I couldn't put the brakes on too hard as I had a queue of cars behind me and I ended up with 2x3 seconds penalties. Also how come he can just come straight back into the racing track without being ghosted when traffic is so close? - The fun in the game is gone is my feeling of it today. SAD as I love every other aspect of the game.

I'll bite, you deserved both of those penalties. Yes you were unfairly dive bombed in both instances but that doesn't give you permission to ram the inside car. I know you're probably thinking that you didn't ram them, but you blatantly turn in AFTER they are illegally side by side with you. Two wrongs don't make a right and you could have been more aware of the proximity of the car behind you and tried a more defensive line or go two wide through the apex.
That's ridiculous. It clearly wasn't his fault. The car behind was braking too late. Period.
That's the purpose of dive bombing: Braking too late and using the car in front as a barrier to aid cornering.
I don't see there was enough time for him to do something to avoid the collision. He was on the right racing line and it's his right to be there. You can't anticipate every stupid move like that, especially when you have to focus on braking points, apexes, etc.
it's primarliy the job of the guy behind to avoid that kind of collision.

Has anyone else noticed that when you check your driver stats in the new Sport History, there is a box on the end that says 'Total Star Player Nominations' ? Wonder what this is all about. :odd:
I think it might be the amount of times you've been in a top 24 superstars race

Thank you Chemenu! These are the basic's you need to learn before you get on to a real racetrack in the real world! Period.

My first race and only race this week, clean race at daily c. Started at 8th and came home 5th. Used fuel map 1-3 so that the nsx lasted 8 laps before pit stop. I like daily c more and more as it is always a good place to maintain Sr. Good luck mate.

The same thing happened to me but I didn't turn in. I watched the radar and switched to a two wide line and blocked the outside exit line. The guy exited onto my inside rear flank pitting me sideways and t boning me for several yards until I was dumped into the gravel. 0 penalty for me and he went from an S to an A by the end of the race.

Your villain's dive bomb penalty was clearly the cause of the events but the game doesn't currently have a way of penalizing a dive bomber unless the bomber laterally rams an outside car moving away from it. If the outside car moves in on the inside car, the outside car will always get the penalty no matter how the inside car got there.

Umm, except now you are in the gravel and lose a lot more time than the faulty penalty :p Plus, at least as DR.A, you still get the SR reduction for the contact, SR Down or not, any contact is lost SR.

If, and that is if you see it coming in time, and there is no car directly on your bumper, the best is to brake extra and avoid to switch in behind the dive bomber and usually they'll overshoot failing to have a car to stop or guide them. That's a big if though depending on traffic and how far back the car is coming from.

I do suggest keeping half an eye on the mirror. Your peripheral vision is enough to alert you of a fast moving target suddenly approaching, much better than the limited radar view.

In the first instance he would have ended up in the green trying to avoid the dive bomber, perhaps even turned around losing more positions and would have had a shortcut penalty regardless. The second was possible to avoid and the diver would have ended up in the sand trap without the 'assist'. However that's always easy to say watching a replay. While you are racing you are focused on the corner entry and not hitting the car(s) in front. Humans can't watch everything at the same time and it is the responsibility of the car behind not to hit the car in front, not the other way around.

Fun race B. Benefited from carnage at Cheaters hairpin.

What the heck? Why didn't I see any of that entertainment in my race? I was expecting a crash fest based on your assessment. I'm disappointed :yuck:.

OK, so I did some pre qualifying in the punch bug. I know it's not the fastest thing out there, but it isn't exactly slow. My fav Gr3 is still the 911, but the Beetle was working, so I didn't bother to try anything else. Got P8 for my efforts. At my best try I wouldn't have been able to do any better than P6. If I finished P8 I'd be happy with that.

Well the race got underway, and I was expecting to either mess someone else's race at T1 or get slammed myself. I nearly hit the car in front, but I went wide with a couple of wheels on the grass to avoid contact and survived. No penalty and a little green SR popped up :dopey:. I kept it on the track, managed to not rear end or slide anyone off (I think I'm getting better at this not making contact thing ).

The first 7 of us (I was in P6) had a gap on the guys behind us. I was feeling the pressure from the car behind who had a 0.5s gap, and went wide on the exit to the chicane at T1 and ended up on the grass. The car behind followed my "racing" line onto the grass. He did me a favour by rear ending me back onto the track with some extra velocity . Sadly he also spun out after hitting me :(. I passed another couple of people to finish P4 .

SR still 99 and my DR went up again. Like Bathurst I'm calling fluke. Another day at DR/C

Well done gt_manman1! Gr.2 racing is aways superior racing, depending on the matchmaking ;) Gr.2 / Gr.1 / Gr.X is absolute pure racing. Gr.3 I'll sometimes participate depending on the track:D but I just wanted to congradulate you on a good race. Race clean, race smart and enjoy the emotions of the race. Cheers

Thanks @Ricca_AMG

Enjoyed the race very much though it was always tensed at Brand that no room for error. :gtpflag:

Making the GT-Rs work this weekend. Skip to 5:30.

Got awesome fuel economy in the GT-R at BH. Just mash the throttle full power the entire race. Scored 2nd when the NSX ahead tries to conserve with 2 to go, I was catching it and it flew off track.

Brands Hatch, the track where going around on the outside is a valid way to pass or diving inside on the insane fast corners..

But it was fun, changed from the NSX to the Lexus simply because of tire wear, made the last race a tad easier..

We're going to have to change your nick to "Nismo Boi".
Try again. I just sold the Gr. 3 GT-R and bought an R8. Can't remember if I've ever tried one.
I certainly don't see them much, if at all. If you see a green/white Blundstone R8, that's me. :D

It's crazy, I started p6 surrounded by Spaniards and by L2 I was p14 with 17s penalties!!

It's crazy where people brake and try overtakes.. I got shoved in gravel in almost at every turn, no matter what position in track I take. And that's B/A..

Guy that shoved me off 3 times after I overtake him on straight ends up p4 with no penalties and blue sr (went up to S)

People brake so 🤬 early on T1, crazy!

I just stopped at finish line in L3 and let everyone pass, to salvage what's left of my sr when I know dr is going to hell.

Back to sr B, and I had 97 Sr yesterday..

Had a few laps on Maggiore (Daily B), and went out to see how much I am off the pace. It was quite a big 2,5 s difference from top times, so wanted to see a top replay where I have to improve. Well, it is my racing line uncompetitively conservative. :D
8 or 9 times 4-wheel-out-of-the-white-line. That's what I call a failure, not the strict La Sarthe.

I had a pretty good day yesterday, with a third, a second and a first in three races. First was Group 3 at Maggiore and I chose the Viper. I managed to start and second and got off to a great start, but my heroics were short-lived after I binned the quick left-right-left section before the back straight. Still, a third after the previous week's shenanigans wasn't bad. Then I did Group 2 at Brands in the NSX. Never again. That car is such a handful to drive fast and I simply struggled to keep it on track. On the last lap I was sitting behind a Lexus RC-F, not thinking I was going to overtake him when he suddenly lost the back end. I though I had won the race but in my celebration, I went off at the next corner and lost my place. If it wasn't a daily race, I probably would've thrown the controller because I have never made such an idiotic mistake. To make things worse, I ran out of fuel before the line going to fourth, but kept my place because the cars in front had penalties. Then I won the race in my Nissan, which is far easier to drive than the NSX.

Calling it now, Gr.2 on Brands is the best combo in the game. Pushing the car to the limit at this track feels amazing.

It is certainly a challenge. But it is equally rewarding when you keep it on the track for 15 laps xD
I haven't had much time to race here sadly (which sucks because it's one of my better qualifying efforts) but I did get a few in. And aside from one awful run it's treated me well. It even got me my 100th W :D

Agreed, it is an awesome combination but..... my gr2 motul Nissan has started applying full traction control along the straights. I have it set on tc2 for gr2 cars and have tried turning it off along the straights but the car still bogs down with the tc light flashing??? Anyone got any ideas? I went from 10th to 4th in first 2 laps (not so much skill from me, everyone in front of me crashes)but then this started happening and went to last real quick
