1:16.7 in the Viper as of now for Race C. Hopefully faster cars than usual at this track will make the starts less chaotic, if so I may participate in some races until I lose SR roulette.

Dragon Trail continues to be my weak track. Couldn't even get my times into the 36s with the Corvette. I did use the races to try out a few cars one last time before I settle on a manufacturer. It did make for some interesting races, though.

That was one of my "better" efforts. I crashed at the bus stop one race and collected 10 seconds of penalties hitting people that crashed at the bus stop in another race. Have I mentioned how much I don't like the bus stop? :irked:

The Hyundai was actually pretty awesome on DT! I could keep up with the Supra scrubs pretty easily and its the only car where I dont panic when going full throttle in the bus stop :scared::D

edit: What are the dailies for today?

Awesome awesome awesome Gr. 4 race. 14th to 3rd, then, 4th at the finish.

No stop in the NSX. 0.8Laps fuel left on Full Power. TCS 0 and just stay off the walls... After I scraped a couple at the beginning and at the end. Also driving thru the ghosted cars helped. Trust, take your medicine early.

A really nice stable car at those high speeds and so fitting to drive on the rhs in the NSX.

I actually really like Gr. 4 on Tokyo Expressway Central Loop, the pace is great but it never feels too fast to keep from smacking walls.

My first run I managed to go two-wide in corners a few times without drama, felt really great. Not every race has gone the same way but overall it's been a positive so far, I've also managed to get my DR from D to C for the first time post-launch.

Just curious - I haven't really been following what the METAs and underperformers are with the BoP updates, where does the Gr. 4 Huracan stand as of now? It's what I've been using today but I have no clue if it's a dominant car, grids have been fairly diverse and I've had no problem holding my own in the top 5-8 or so.

Oh Boy, no online races for me in the next 3 days. :irked:
PSN blocked me for whatever reason. Guess it was a salty kid who reported me a dozen times because I called him out for dirty driving and purposely ramming people of. (Obviously, he went in way deeper with insults about my mother and other things) But here we go...
I hope I can give him the favor back later, by reporting his messages too :sly:

I'm sure your mother is wonderful as all mothers are. Anyway enjoy having your life back for 3 days.

want to try Race B today is the 911 RSR competitive there as its my go to Grp3 car.

I tried the Supra, Lexus Emil Frey, Porsche and GTR and the GTR and Porsche were the winners for me

I did Race A with no qualifying, just to try building my SR back up again. I finished 1 place up with a clean race bonus, despite a few of the drivers trying to knock me off. One guy came screaming in at me at the big curve before the final esses. I swerved to the side and braked, he went flying past me and crashed into the wall. He'd already hit me at least 4 times before . I lost points but being back to DR/D the pressure is off. SR went up a bit, but not enough to get be back to SR/S. Going into Bathurst is going to be painful :scared:.

I tried the Porsche. I hit a wall with qualifying times after 7 laps, Just couldn't manage better. Tried the rexy, after 2 laps I'd taken a second off my RSR time.

My stats determined, that this is a lie :p

Lies, damned lies, and statistics :sly:.

Well, it's been nearly 2 hours since my last post and no one else is posting, so I hope this doesn't get a red flag for double posting :nervous:.

Given I was down on SR I was kinda expecting mismatch and loosing even more SR at Bathurst. I was just hoping it wasn't going to be a downward spiral :scared:. I used an old technique from the mountains to get more speed involving 100 pounds of yeast and some copper line. Qualified P11 in a grid full of B/As with two other Ds, a C, and a stray A. Wished I'd used that energy polariser...:sly:

I was expecting this race was going to be chaos, fire, brimstone, war famine and pestilence. Little bit of rubbing on the first corner but other than that fairly civilised from what I could tell. I had managed to gain a few places, only to loose them again due to small mistakes that cost me time. No penalties for me ! The rexy certainly seems to have some pull on the straits, but still handle well enough for me to stay on the track.

I did have a bit of a fight at the end. I messed up the exit to Forest elbow, so the car behind me passed on the inside like velvet. I was right behind them and had to brake early at the end of Conrod so I didn't hit them. I got better drive coming out of the corner and headed to the final turn I was ahead on the inside. I was being careful not to knock him off into the sand trap on the outside side by side. I popped out of the corner first, but he had a better exit. I pulled aside as he came up next to me and he crossed 1/4 of a car length in front. He didn't hang around long enough for me to congratulate him :(.

SR back up to SR/S... just. DR went up a bit because I beat some DR/Bs. Another day above DR 1 :D.

No prob on double posting with a 2 hours gap mate 👍 . Less activity today is maybe due to the fact that races are not interesting for most of us.

I know I shouldn't be venting about losses, but on today's Race C, Gr.4 cars at Tokyo Center Outer Loop:

  • I feel like I'm getting matched with drivers who are way, way higher than my caliber will ever be. DR D, SR S, and I'm getting matched up with DR A+ players, and while I can qualify for 7th or 8th in a full grid, it won't be long before I'm forced to let the cars behind me by. I can drive defensive all I want, but eventually the moves will come up on me and I'll have no other choice but to back down; they're simply much faster than me.
  • I must be late with the BoP thing, but it appears that the Megane Trophy dominates Gr.4? Downforce and faster cornering speed seems to really be the edge instead of top end speed.
How does one get matched with players on their own skill level? Does qualifying help? Does not qualifying help? Pessimism is never a good thing, but one should always know his limitations, and with the last four races I got placed in, I can, rest assured, say there's no way I would have won any of them.

Is it normal that my game showed that I got 1 sec penalty and the other guy got 5 sec in the last lap but the guy didn’t serve it, nor it was added to his time. I asked him about this and he said he didn’t get a penalty.

Wtf?

1. Pick a popular race. No one is doing race C today which leads to uneven lobbies. They read Tokyo and run for the hills, even though this particular layout is rather nice:)

2. Race during late afternoon or early evening when most people are online.

Yep, another issue which happens sometimes. It tells you one thing and him another (or nothing in this case) with regards to the penalties. You can't even assume someone with penalty flashing bright above their car actually has a penalty because there's a chance they don't.

Yeah seems like penalties are calculated offline, as opposed to be just "downloaded" from the server and always kept up to date.

Seems like an easy fix to me, if only they just wanted to fix it.

It could be lag on his side, and the game registered that he didn't make contact. It's happened to me sometimes too.

Won my third race today with the VW Golf. (Out of 112 races). Came top 4 a few times too. Really enjoyed racing today (user chalky101 if you raced me).

Would be great if the lower lap/non pitting races could use other cars like McLaren,Lamborghinis, Ferrari’s etc.. instead of N100-N400

I think there are very few race today because of PD's track selections, they can be considered SR killers. I was doing race A had one very clean race and one not so clean but I wouldnt call it bad. My 1st A race had only 10 cars, DR rank from A+ to a C, SR rank was S to D, I dont think I have ever seen a field that was so spread on rank, especially for only 10 cars. The tough thing is I can run 48.6 lap times during the race but I only ran 49.0 in qualifying and was not able to improve on it this morning.
