Sometimes, I feel the zeros and ones "Stewards" see how players race. I've been pushed around, pushed off track, overbraker's bump and run, love tapped, pit manuevred, all of that. When I gave back, I didn't get penalties.

Seems odd, as I'm 9/10, a fair racer. I give way, give up spots, admit defeat if I'm holding up someone or the field. I can't stand it when I then, Still get hit by inconsiderate players. So, I think there is something built in, to allow players to fight for their position.

Despite the DR/SR thing, there must be some provisions, that allow well meaning players, to be aggressive soon after being passive. Just saying, I notice many times, I'm being courteous and the next player abuses that courtesy, by being overly aggressive.

I started today with Tsukabe where I managed to finish pretty much where the game wanted me to finish

Twice matching my door number and twice one position in front of the door number. (Actually 3, there was a 5th race before all these with exact same result as my last race)

What does door number mean for DR
Race 1: door 8, 7 positions up to 7th -> -118
Race 2: door 6, 7 positions up to 5th -> - 89
Race 3: door 6, 6 positions up to 6th -> -82
Race 4: door 3, 5 positions up to 3rd -> +276
Race 5: door 8, 7 positions up to 7th -> -164

Matchmaking was getting really poor in race 4. 13 person room mixed A to D with two SR.A drivers, 6 didn't qualify, not a popular race. I had to check if I really was still at SR.99 or if my SR glitched or something.
Then the last race was so dirty I reported most of the people in that room. It was destruction derby at max SR.S. 5 people quit the race. I got rammed multiple times in T1 from behind (started 14th) then bumped off in the last turn of lap 1 so I started lap 2 far behind the field. Then in lap 4 a whole group drove each other off in the last turn making my comeback a lot easier. Yet after witnessing what was going on there I decided to switch to race C.

First in the Corvette on race hard tires. Any ground I made up my car drank away in the pit. -747 DR.
Then the Porsche on medium tires, pit in the middle. At least I kept it on the road, 5 laps is a bit much for medium tires with that accelerated wear. 9th place +43 DR, tough room.
So the next race I started on mediums and switched to RH at the end of lap 4. That went ok, 10th place. the competition was very tough though as you can see from the results next to it. +162 DR for 10th, 46 seconds behind first.

Racing on Nurb was kinda boring. My position was pretty much established after the first couple laps, the rest was merely watching the gap to the front grow. I don't enjoy hot lapping, yet now I was essentially hot lapping on degrading tires :banghead:

One question, the top driver had a qualifying time 3 seconds faster than what he drove in the race. Is that normal? Top 10 all has 1:53 lap times.

Overall 600 DR down, safely in high DR.B. GR.2 on Suzuka tomorrow!

I had two daily race wins on July 4. The first one was with a Gr. X car, the other was a one make involving a Volkswagen Scirocco Gr. 4. I had a huge lead in both races.

I don't think Qualy transfers to race pace. Regardless of tyre wear and no tyre wear races, I've had fastest laps quicker than my qualy time. I've also had fastest laps quicker than the Pole sitter.

Some players here, post about seeing those same top 10 players, over extending track limits, acquiring penalties and burning them off before lap completion.

I've seen that as well and have had that happen to me before. Do you think it'd be more appropriate to invalidate the time as it is done in Project CARS to prevent this sort of thing?

For the first one, just always assume the car will unghost, especially when driving in a straight line, that’s just naive thinking you can drive right through him.

For the second one, through no fault of your own, your use of a DS4 is so obvious, your steering is so jerky, aim to turn much smoother and you’ll be way faster.

The last one is simply you’ve tired to rejoin the track on the inside of the circuit, ie. you just took a shortcut at a hairpin (even though we can see you didn’t), yeah the game is gonna reset you there!

Keep enjoying yourself though mate :)
Thank you for the feedback again mate i personally beliave for the first case i wasen't naive because i past trough many ghosts before & he just stoped it wasen't like he was done burning off his penalty thanks for the tip! , the reset need a big fix asap imo they even reset you in monza when your going trough the escape road like anyone should in real life... as for the second case i'd like to PM you if you don't mind.

Yes in fact it should have been in game since day 1.

Wait you can change tyre compound in Fia races ?

No, one of yesterday's dailies allowed you to use Racing Mediums as well as the Hards, that's all. Who knows if this will ever happen again.

I've not done the online qualifying, but in offline Single races, Yes. However, Arcade Mode in GTS, invalidates times already. It should be the same for Sport Mode.

With the 911 I found that hards were good for 6 laps and mediums for 4. I started on hards because I knew I'd get 6 laps before I needed to fuel, then changed to mediums for the final 4. I was digging the way the car handled on lap 4 with the mediums, but then again I tend to use the throttle to steer on tighter corners. :lol:

I found the car always handles worse in a race than it does during qualifying, even when there is no tyre wear. Racing conditions are different too, you have other cars on the track you sometimes have to deal with. :sly:

I hope that doesnt happen to often ? You are missing out too many wins. A good qualify is vital for a good finish for most of us.

Soon as that penalty has gone and he floors it again he will unghost, which has happened as you’re inside him (s******s childishly).

I agree with you on the track resets, people massively over cook their turns, end up in the dirt and then just reset back on the track like nothing happened. In your case the game should allow you to return to the track as normal but give you a small penalty, even though you’ve already lost time. Personally that shouldn’t even warrant a penalty because you have already lost time but it’s there to prevent exploitation.

Yes go ahead you’re more than welcome to PM me dude.

I just want to race. Qualy is not big on my list. The SR/DR points, etc., aren't a concern for me either. When I post my finish positions, it's more about the journey, than beating other players.

Yeah, many here, keep tabs on the ups and downs and strategizing of their DR/SR. I can see the benefits in being paired with a certain crop of players. I feel(in my region) it all ends up in a wash. I find good and bad no matter what group of 12-20 I'm paired with. And this is coming from a player(me), that has been exclusively, an offline player.

Fun, is the be all and end all for me. 👍

All these AMG GT3s for the oval. Crazy...

It's the same guys who choose the Megane Trophy or the Mustang for Monza. Tryhards ;)

Had a couple of races in Race A. Love this car in a one make, and I always do well on that Tokyo track. 4th and 2nd, plus stole a couple of fastest laps due to the slipstream. I still need to work on my grid starts.

The NSX was hooked up all race around the oval. Using 4th gear, it bounces off the limiter before the ends of the straights. So stable though.

Race C was a surprise.

No qualy. Kept my nose clean in ntil lap 3 when a fellow NSX got out of shape following the car ahead of it. NSX tried to correct on the grass and I took evasive action in the esses. Nowhere to go and we clipped front fenders. I get a 5 second penalty and shaved it off coasting before braking.
Last lap, 3rd place goes off before the underpass.

Is there a tire compound option in daily race C today?

One race at Northern Isle and I lost 3000 Dr points.

Yay. Back to Dr B... so excited.

What are the best settings for Race B today to get a good qualifying time. Currently a 0:13.834 but I see 0:13.6 is possible.

So I know the secret for good lap is to go on the wall the lap before and then dive to the inside but what's the best TC/CSA settings
for the Merc AMG to do these quick laps?

Had a mix of both enjoyable and not so fun races in the BRZ, overall I like the car track combo, a lot more interesting than some Dailies we've had recently. I started on pole 5 times out of 6 races but only managed 2 wins after either been jackhammered at the 1st turn or later in the race. Starting on pole meant the 2nd place guy often had the inside line going into the 1st turn. There were many idiots, but hey ho, a win is a win is a win.....

Not 100% sure darth_tails, but I usual put CSA on strong, traction on 1. The main thing for the races is being consistent though, probably worth putting traction on 2 to start if you find your self on the banking, I did a few races this morning and noticed several cars spin as soon as the green flag dropped. Just 1 tap of the walls a 5 second penalty so definitely worth running a few laps quali until you are running almost identical laps. I managed a 2nd place in the 911 before just by keeping it clean, several cars where lapped. [This was in C/S fields]

I hadn't played sport mode for a week and a half because I was on holiday. I've been back for three days and gotten wrecked each day with the driver that caused the crash always getting very small penalties (if they get a penalty at all)

I. Am. Screaming.

Just started 8th at Suzuka. On the final lap, I moved up to a respectable 5th after a few cars went off or slowed for penalties... until someone decided to punt me and someone else off right before the backstretch.

They already had a penalty, raced back to the line and only slowed for a second or two. They got 5th while I got 7th.

They ran TWO cars off track, where is the 10 second penalty?! Their Sr went up after this race...

It was a very weird race. I was able to clip through a user for some reason, but they were not ghosted. Note into the hairpin, a user brakes far earlier than normal for some reason and I am able to drive through their solid car. When we get rammed off, they clipped through me...

Video:

The kid that finished 5th was very dirty with numerous people calling them out. One player even called him a homophobic slur.
