My last race for the night. The awd cars are holding me up. Not on corner exit, but on corner entry and mid corner. I'm piling them on the straight, but having to compromise my entry just brings cars behind closer and I've been getting bumped all over.

Maybe I'm too nice and giving way too much space. To add, no one is being opportunistic, it's just players trying to race. I'll figure it out tomorrow.

I gave Race B a go. I was driving the META (the trophy is still the META yeh?) For some reason there was only 2 on the grid. I started P6/16 on a mixed grid of DR/C and D. Happy with that. I forgot to change my pre-race comment, so it was still set for Race C from the previous week .

The race started and one guy ran up the inside on T2. I eased off and let them through, it was obvious they would become a cropper later. I was doing ok and made up a couple of places, but P4 was just too far ahead. On the second last lap he slowed down suddenly, I guess he was serving a penalty. I passed him with no drama, but I knew he would eventually catch up, he's way faster than me. T1 on the final lap and he was coming up the inside. I stayed wide, way too wide to give him room, and ended up on the grass . He was no where near me, there was a car width space between us, so my screw up. That screwed my mojo and the cars handling went haywire after that, I just couldn't seem to make a corner and ended up all over the place. Lost so much time I dropped down to P8 where I finished. I'll probably give it another crack after midnight.

SR unchanged. DR up by a bit. Disappointed with my mistakes, but I'll take the points on offer.

How is the M4 fairing around Dragon Trail Gardens, anyone seen one in a daily race yet today?

Found a livery I want to showcase in a race but not sure how well it will do, still to set qualifying time as well as at work but hoping
for some improvements in my racecraft this week following some steers from fellow forum members.

for some improvements in my racecraft this week following some steers from fellow forum members.

I saw a white one in one race and a gold one causing havoc in another race. They both finished behind me. What places, I can't remember.

Edit: I jumped back in(I know, sucked in). There's a red one in 9th. I'm in 11th.

It's actually that gold one again(the paint chip still shows the standard color). I got dive bombed back to 13th and the M4 finished 5th.

Really enjoyed the Beat Off in race A - qualified and started 5th but it's all about carrying as much speed round the long corners without losing speed going sideways which is easier said than done when surrounded.

Think I'll take the Stang round Gardens now to see if I can get a win before everyone starts using it!

Overall I had a great week at Lago Maggiore.
I like these tracks that are a bit wider and allow for some maneuvering.
Here is a video showing how the patient strategy can pay off. Note the three cars in front of me that are battling...

So, second crack at Race B, the 12:15am run. Beat my qualifying time, but started P7/16 on a mixed grid of DR/C and D. The week is young, so race matching still functions.

The race gets going, everyone heads to the big T1 and I had to slow down because there was a wall of cars going slower than me. The next two corners were pandemonium. A Veyron started to spin out and planted itself across my bow, where I proceeded to watch him pirouette across my front bumper. No penalty <whew> . Oh yeh, and then there was this joker:

I mean, I'm sure you're a nice bloke and all, but I just don't like you in that way...... . This guy was zooming all over the place, it was very distracting. He seemed to spend more time using the rallying capabilities of the rexy than the road car version! I have no idea how he managed to be so fast .

I was doing ok, up till the final corner of "the four brothers", overcooked the exit of the third corner and hit the wall on the outpex rather than the apex . My 4s lead evaporated and I was passed by 2 cars to finish 7th.

SR maintained, DR up another couple of hundred. Disappointed again at my 2 position screw up, but 200+ points is better than a kick in the head ! Another day above DR1 .

Hmm, is that the best position for the shifter? Does not seem so comfortable but you seem to master it.
When it comes to the green screen, the effect might be better if you have a picture in picture setup instead as the slice we get to see looks a bit awkward in your layout. So for example a smaller rectangle in a corner.
However, really cool effort.

Had one go at Race A last night around 12pm pst. During the loading screen and warmup, it showed 10 people in the lobby, I was 9th having skipped quali. When the race actually started, there was only 4 of us on the grid....first time I’ve seen this happen. Is this a normal occurrence, or no?

I guess not, 12:09 power outage again I got punted off in the Porsche curves as well lap 1, front is dirty tonight. So I guess SR down as well next to huge DR drop.

SR was still good enough for the fast room, just 1800 DR loss, minor scratch, it'll buff out.

There was one near the front of the room that kept punting me off each race... very frustrating.
There was also another driver that would slipstream you on the straight and right before the braking zone cut onto the racing line in front of you and power down on brakes making him unavoidable...

1 am, everyone or nearly everyone gets disconnected during warm-up

Not everyone got disconnected, -1600 DR again, 3.4K loss from technical difficulties. I got 700 DR back from winning the next race. I cant imagine how frustrating disconnects are at A+ level :/

I was upset to see you disconnect. Thought we could finally get a good back and forth race. I ended up being pretty solo for most of the race, 2nd place with a 5-6s gap on both sides.


Here's the 3 races from last night. The first 2 have a lot of overtaking as I catch-up. The 2nd race is pretty boring but the result is good.



Overall this was one of the best GT:Sport weeks I've had in terms of fun. After this I can say that I like the weekly structure more. Having this race available all week got me playing way more than usual.

Torque Monster! AWD won't save you. It's a beast pulling from 3rd gear. If I didn't go off before the Four Brothers on lap 3, I would have been able to get by before the last lap.

Corner exit on the final turn got me so close.

Please, keep using that META. Love playing the underdog.

I used to use the Gr.4 Mustang a lot and have recently started to favor the Corvette. I feel like DT Gardens offers a lot of possibilities for different cars to be successful. How do you think these 2 stack up? It's been awhile since I used the stang, so I'm gonna have to compare them myself. Some people would complain about understeer in the Mustang (and the Vette actually) but I find that changing BB to +2 or +3 resolves that issue and then some, especially in the Mustang. In the past I've also been pretty dang fast in the Lancer on that track, but overall I despise driving AWD. I think the Cayman might be another good choice.

Man, let me tell ya. I'm new to A+, but I had a couple disconnects on the way there, when I was pretty close to 50,000DR. Each one cost me 1500 and 5SR. In order to make them back, I had to win race after race, most times only gaining a few hundred DR.

Now that I'm A+ and spent a whole day there doing Race C, I see the frustration of other A+ drivers who are hesitant to race in Dailies because the risk is greater than the reward. Either way, I'll keep racing because I do it for the fun, but if I was trying to be competitive in FIA and thought I stood a chance, it would suck even more to only gain 300DR (or less sometimes) for beating a lobby of 20 people.

So I can see why some of the higher level aliens rarely do daily races. Had a few races with several other A+ or S/S guys, and those were worth it. I think I gained 1700 in one of them...but those were few and far between. It's a bit different now that the target is on my back.

I'm only middle pack A with 40K DR and racing the daily C all week pretty consistently finishing around the top 5 of the top split lobby. I think I broke even on DR overall. If I wasn't having fun I wouldn't want to risk it.

Indeed, it was a great week! A shame I didn't get to race you again. First race with you, a power outage, last race with you, on my end it showed a mass disconnect yet now I see it was just me, hence the 1600 DR loss. Better luck next time!

Despite all the problems yesterday I'm still up to 41.2k from 24.2k on Wednesday, increased my race count on Sarthe to 221, with 18 wins and 8 poles. I'll probably be on Suzuka at 8pm or so, non qualified of course as you can't undo it once you set a time.

That player was cheating. Getting that extra downforce in the front, combining two cars for double the power out put. For shame!

I liked the Corvette at Seaside. Haven't tried it at DTG. However, I feel it might still be good. The Cayman is a nice ride. Share your feed back if/when you run it. A Cayman tried to fight me because I got held up, but it can't compete(with the Mustang) on the straights and out of turns.
Two other Mustangs ran in one of my races. They were both quick, but a GT-R was dirty to one with a "the bottle-o" livery. It still finished strong though. The other Mustang with an "Eneos" livery, started behind me and harassed an Atenza that I passed. The Mustang's got the straightline speed and tight turning.
I can carry more speed and brake much later than the players I've raced, into T1. Also for T2-T4, steers perfect right thru. Braking is excellent into T6 hairpin. I mainly use 4th gear for T7&8(if I'm catching a slower player, I'll use 3rd for T8). 3rd gear for the start of the Four Brothers, with a short shift up to 4th and start full throttle out of the last two right-handers. Setting up for the final left-handers, I drop to 3rd and stay smooth to maximise my exit for the front straight. It's my favorite track.

After two hours and four wins and a few poles I'm livid this Race A combo didn't come up in the past two weeks when I was off work. 2:13.150 currently, if I can get the big curve at the back done properly there's half a second to be had there too.

Im 20k dr B in Asia region and just had few races in C.Im usually a midpack racer who try to survive.goal always top 10 in every race I entered

Mustang - very quick on tire usage, not reccomended

Atenza - this is my favourite at the moment, great balance and manage to save fuel and tires using coasting technique very efficiently. gained 10 spots in B/S full grid session.

Jaguar - great fuel saving but harder to control than atenza. Need special attention on braking.


Weather at Suzuka was evening and track was slippery

I believe the only reason we had it for Race C last week was the track being Circuit De La Sarthe so a tuning setup was kind of essential
than a stock car hitting the limiter down the straights.

Tuning in Daily Races in general is fairly random and not predictable at the moment.

Yeah, last time I remember tuning in Race C was N400 at Le Mans with no chicane, so stock transmission would've been terrible. I remember trying to do a qualifying lap in the Raptor for a bit of a laugh, but I wasn't laughing half-way through the lap. There was also an N300 at Tokyo East outer loop with tuning too. Either way, tuning with these N-class vehicles didn't even the field and just made the meta cars faster (N400-spec Ferrari F40 and N300-spec Ford GT'66).

I run the NSX. Having a bit of a struggle again. My Maggiore set isn't working at Suzuka. Still, good fuel economy shifting before the red, with 2.5 laps on lap 6 pitstop.

I think the R8 looks good. Seemed stable when I was in front and behind it.
