I raced the Suzuka Gr 3 race for the first time tonight and I had so much fun. Although I didn't win, I was battling non stop with Mitsubishis, Porsches, Corvettes, and even a Hyundai. I ran a near perfect race following the race line most of the time until I went wide on the first corner late in the race, but It was like I was "In the rhythm of the night," as Fernando Alonso put it with his Le Mans 2018 night stint. I'm looking forward to possibly racing you guys at Suzuka this week!

I completed the circuit experience again, hadn't done DT Gardens and Sarthe yet. Easy money, especially on Sarthe, didn't even need to try after last week. I did an extra lap though to see how far I could troll the game and racked up 33 seconds of shortcut penalties ignoring half the corners. There are still some track limits that work! Now I have 2 more duplicates in my garage, yay. Back to 100% campaign, that 97% was ugly to look at.

Then I entered Suzuka, whoah it was like the engine wasn't on. Why is my car not accelerating. First race I couldn't keep it on the track either in a couple corners. I feel like I'm crawling yet the car won't turn. GR.1 effect. I adjusted after a couple laps, got a little better in the next race getting into 2:03s for best lap times, yet held up a lot in traffic. Not confident enough yet to go for risky passes, it takes so long to overtake a car in GR.3 lol.

The last race I did I was stuck behind the same car for 5 laps, then he dirty blocked me when I finally had a much better exit on him at the straight and went for the pass. So that meant the gloves were off and I chased him down the S curves right on his bumper then stuck my nose on his inside in the Dunlop curve. He got the message and backed down, finally clear road instead of driving 2:05s behind him. I finished 8th.

Only 4 races tonight, Suzuka is not that interesting. DR down as expected for not qualifying nor practicing. Always practice live, it's more more interesting, plus the races need bodies.

I know that feeling, except I still have two blemishes I need to address. Silvers for Nurb and la Sarthe final time attacks.

Hehe didn't take much adjustment for me. The group C cars handle more like normal cars . Someone did warn that the track was slippy.

Great Jobert, Bobert! I’m on Suzuka too but EMEA servers. Enjoy.

Im 20k dr B in Asia region and just had few races in C.Im usually a midpack racer who try to survive.goal always top 10 in every race I entered

Mustang - very quick on tire usage, not reccomended

Atenza - this is my favourite at the moment, great balance and manage to save fuel and tires using coasting technique very efficiently. gained 10 spots in B/S full grid session.

Jaguar - great fuel saving but harder to control than atenza. Need special attention on braking.

Weather at Suzuka was evening and track was slippery

Didn't know that Atenza is good on tires and fuel. But, don't you lose a lot on the straights compared to the faster cars?

Yup, there a race that a Viper took a place from me on the back straight.

I did a race on rsr today with bunch of aussies, then ran 991 too. Manage to clock a steady 2:04 and pitted on 5th lap, changed the tires and using all the power without hesitation with extra fuel

Sold the Mustang.

If this blasted Evo didn't kee pushing me on the edge of the track and stopped blocking and stopped giving me the bump and run on the first lap and a half, I would have passed those Slophys.

That Scirocco was fast into T1 and has some good top end. However, the Corvette is something special. Just like the Mustang, it has the excellent braking and turn in. Even better the Ford thru the Four Brothers. No intrusion by TCS 3, at corner exit of the first ess and final turn. Superb car.

I love the weekly races, the racing is getting better, people is racing cleaner (at the end of the week in particular), this weekly thing is raising the bar.

I went from D to C in about 2 hours. I had a terrible night to forget on friday with the Ford GT and I dropped my DR to extremely lows in D.
Next morning I focused in time trial until I got a top lap time (5 hours of time trial to get a time 4.5 seconds slower than Lighting, I almost break my hands). That was my saturday

On Sunday I gained Home Points (which are the ones that you get by being a good husband and doing the dishes, the laundry, the shopping and the launch) :sly: And I expended my Home Points in 2.5 hours of uninterrupted racing.

I raced as clean as possible, because at the end of the day is our own mistakes what get us away of victory. The lowest I finished was P5. My D rank bar was empty at 18:00. By 20:30 I was C and my lap time was giving me top 5 in C category!

This Summer Bank Holiday has been the first time I had the space to sit and follow this simple but effective method. Get a cracking top time and then race from the top.

I did something I normally don't do. I changed car in the middle of the evening, from the friendly, quick, nice to drive Corvette to the highly unforgiving Porsche, which is quick as hell but the smallest mistake will have you out. Unfortunately I need a car that keeps me at the edge of madness or I get bored and start daydreaming. The Ford GT is similar in this aspect, but with ABS weak the Porsche turning is better. I went from finishing P5 to finishing in the top 3 every race. Needless to say that with all aids off this car will try to kill you, but it devours apex like anything I've seen. The second gear in the Porsche is perfect for chicanes. The 3rd gear is perfect to throw a race away. This car has made me a better driver, thank you Porschiiii :O:O:O

This just happened.

Seriously, I can place this car anywhere (I placed it with too much curb in the middle of the first ess ), but hey, didn't sweat it. Think I'm going to put an Underdog decal on my "AntiMetas". :)

That car is a powerhouse, is seriously quick and you can do practically anything with it. The second gear can be a bit treacherous sometimes but you don't use it much in DTGardens (you can virtually avoid this problem by just changing to 3rd and then back to second)

Wait... I just realized you are driving the GR4. Sorry, my bad. That car is almost as good as the Gr3. But I don't know much about it. What is your qualifiying time with it?

The Gr3 Corvette is awful with front tires at Suzuka, it's very planted in terms of stability, and can keep up with the 991s. Is it considered an "anti-meta" in Gr3?

Sold the Mustang.

Good man! I agree with the principle, I too would sell any Fords I had, if I could, but I'd never have bought any in the first place :p. I keep the ones I have in case Campagn Mode decides to add a one make series like they did with that stupid Raptor .

1:39.3 Mustang
1:39.6 C7
I only do one or two flying laps when I qualify.

I was raised in a GM & Chrysler household, but love Mustang race cars. Been a fan since Bullitt. ;)

Just had a fantastic race on Race C, I’ll only be doing C from now on, A+B are too dangerous with other drivers trying to win in lap 1.

I started on pole, much to my surprise but was down to 8th after the first turn because the SLS in second was rapidly gaining on me and I realised I didn’t have my rader on, thus making me miss my braking point in sheer panic. I was stuck behind a Spaniard for a lap and a half, being a very awkward customer but did nothing against the rules until he turned into my line and braked in front of me pre-spoon and got himself punted off the track.

I clawed my way up through the pack, after lap 5 I came out of the pits in 4th with new shoes on. P2&3 took each other out then it was just a case of catching the SLS.

Lap 8 i got within 2.5 seconds and went off track increasing the gap to 8 seconds, but with a healthy lead on 3rd place I wasn’t too concerned, I poodled on and assumed I would be finishing second until I saw “YELLOW FLAG” on the final lap and suddenly I was in 1st place!

I tried to ask the driver what happened but he left the lobby quickly, a sweet victory nonetheless. I’ll be watching that replay shortly.

You mean that you got him out of the race and you weren't skillful enough (or didn't care) to avoid the crash. Out of curiosity, did you at least wait for him to recover the position that you stole from him, or you just ran away?

Well, that's one way to say it

Yeah, I know. I'm sorry but I can't stand this kind of ********. I have done the same myself, because I was careless, and I've done it in a FIA race, and I have stopped and waited for the guy to rejoin, even if that costed me the race. That is why people call them Manner Points (or respect points) and that is why some people have none.
If you take someone out of the race @ThePhantomAli at least have the courage to call it by its name.

Call it that if you want but coming up to a corner the last thing I want is to punt a guy in the rear, so I come completely out of the slipstream, then he turns back into my non-racing line and brakes, assuming he thinks I’m about to perform a dive bomb.

No I didn’t wait for him.

Why would he think that? O_o

No I didn’t wait for him
Of course you didn't, seeing your stats it is clear that is not your stile. He's probably still in the side of the road waiting for the RAC to show up and tow him back home.

The hilarious part for me is when, in top of all this (which you happen to consider perfectly normal), you blame him for being in your way! I would laugh my ass off if it wasn't a very sad and common practice.

Out of curiosity, did you at least apologise in the chat? The last guy that hard ****ed me from behind sent me a message, friend petition and even flowers.

Today I reach the 2:00:8xx time on the qualifying Suzuka track, but now I don't know which strategy I can use during the race.
I want to use the Ford GT but any type of advice is welcome.
I'm A S category

That is actually the most rational thing one would think of if you see them on the inside. Rule number 1 of online random racing is unless you know who you're fighting against, never trust them. They are dirty until proven otherwise, and drive accordingly so. However,

Given that you know that the driver will probably anticipate a divebomb if you position your car in such a way, it would've been nice to have driven so accordingly. I think this is just a racing incident, but one that could've been handled better.

First of all, I know that this is for December, but still a good help. This is the fastest alien in game.

What I normally do is I watch the fastest guys and I try to get as fast as them (always 4 or 5 seconds slower), this might mean that there is still time to suck from your laps. I don't think the Ford GT is the best for Suzuka (suzuka is full of high speed corners, is more about high speed precision rather than power IMO). I would try the Lexus, the BMW or the Audi (even the Lambo), most probably the best to use is the Porsche?

The first lap would be the most important, always protect the interior and keep the door closed. It is difficult to overtake in Suzuka, is not impossible but you will need to carry a lot of speed to overtake mid corner, the safest is to overtake in the 2 straights and then defend in the highspeed corners IMO. It is very technical Suzuka, and prone to long battles. A real racer's track.

I used the GtLm but very bad on fuel and strange on tires. Then the AMG and it drives really well and balanced. And it's fast. Above average on fuel and good on tires, IMO

Ive enjoyed the beetle, z4 and viper so far. Didnt really like the amg gt3 which seems the most popular. The 911 is good on fuel and better balanced than most of the mr cars only race lap in the 2.01 was in the 911.

About to run the sls and see how that goes.

Listen pal, I moved out from behind him so NOT to hit him, he turned into my path and put on the brakes early, call it my fault if you will but this is a thread for discussion, not for being plain rude. Send me a PM if you want to do that.

Also how do my stats reflect me as being a dirty racer, I spent a good few days online learning the ropes where my DR has steadily increased but my SR has had its ups and downs until an SR crash around day 30. I’ll put that down to being an amateur.

Since then I maintained a 99 streak where I prioritised SR over DR, avoiding battles so not to spoil anyone else’s race, that streak was spoiled by Race B at Maggiore last week and I’ll maintain that that was down to other drivers, one tap can get you a red rating, multiple races Can result in a big drop. Like I said in my earlier post I’ll be sticking to Race C from now on so to maintain that 99 rating for good.

Edit: oh and did I blame him for being in the way? I said I was behind him and he made it difficult for me to pass but did nothing against the rules. I was being respectful hence why I said I didn’t want to hit him, but I’m going round in circles here.

I don't know exactly what happened yet things aren't always that black and white. Changing lines in the braking zone is not good manner. I've had it happen before that I'm off the line out of the slipstream of the car in front and while were both braking the other car moves over to block me, reducing my braking by putting me back in his slip stream. If there is no more room to avoid, then yes sometimes I hit them. Sorry but I consider that their own fault.

Then you have those that do a last second over take and throw their car in front of you while already starting to break. I don't have the reaction skills of a 20 year old anymore and can't always adjust my braking point to such a last second maneuver. When I'm not over a car length ahead I will not move into the line of the car behind me and give them room to out brake me if they so please (or are simply late) so I don't get bumped from behind. Always leave room for the other car, that's what manner points are about.

And no, I don't apologize in the chat when someone pulls that stuff on me. If you decide to do a risky block, it's your job not to cause an accident. And his stats are fine for DR.B

Gaaaaaaah what a night.

Was about to win race b when i was taken out three corners from the end by a stupid Megane because it corners way, way too fast for this formulae.

Then i am third in the next race but can see the two leaders (who i was quicker than) fighting, they both push wide, i duck up the inside and i just nudge one of them, spinning him off. My fault but a gap you had to go for.

Lost 13,000DR points for that 3 second sin :(

@ThePhantomAli Is nothing personal, I'm just discussing the action, not the individual. You can argue whatever you want, but if someone goes around hard ****ing people from behind (as the SR graphics proofs) nobody will want to race with you. And you have the nerve to say that is the other guy's fault, and... you get offended when someone discusses your post in a public forum :D, which is ironic if you think about it. (you can always use the ignore function of the forum, I understand that you don't want to read negative feedback)
Next time you drive someone off track, don't bring it here (not without a video at least, so I can get the popcorn and I can comment it better:cheers:). Also, don't take it personal, every time I read crap like this I react the same way, no matter who writes it.
PS: consider watching the brake lights and give some space next time, so you don't have to blame others for your own mistakes.
