2 x Race A today. Started 8th/10th. Lost 2 spots/gained 2. Not exciting but very clean. Got my fix.

I had a good week. Leveled up from DR C to B over the weekend. Improved my confidence and consistency on Maggiore GP and got to know some of my Gp. 3 cars.

I know working on qualifying times is a key but I'm focusing more on consistency. I'm often 5 - 10 seconds off the leader board times. But I want to race. So I try to ignore my time and work on staying on track.

After putting together comfortable clean laps. I watch a video of a faster driver to work out where I'm sacrificing speed, where I can push and where to play it safe.

This approach has helped me feel more prepared and confident.

Well, that's it for le mans... Doubled my DR points, and now I'm "visiting" DR B as Invisigoth likes to say :)
But all those points came as my SR rating dropped (even to D) which is a sad feat of this game...
But generally, good week, I managed to fix SR to A. We'll see Suzuka and DT tomorrow :)

What time is that at? I have had that happen in NA as well from 2 am EST (11 pm PST). SR.A The SR range starts to widen to fill up the room.

8:30pm. There should have been plenty of people logged on. The bulk of the drivers are in Japan, so maybe they were having dinner, since their time zone is earlier. I did see more Australian drivers than usual, but then again I usually don't race till after 10pm. I think changing to a weekly format has killed the interest. Aside from people like you who are trying out every car, I think people driving the same car over and over again on the same track just get bored and move on. I know if I wasn't curious to see how the four Group Cs went I would have only done a couple of races for the week.

I'm thinking the same thing. KP still shows the same number of active daily players, yet not how active. This thread has definitely taken a dive in activity. I've been keeping my interest high by driving every GR.3 car on Panorama at least twice, then the same for GR.1 at least 3 times per car. Today is my second day driving the R18 again with qualifying and I'm already getting bored of the races all playing out roughly the same. Not enough GR.1 cars!

Next week will likely be a low in my driving. I've been racing on Suzuka for 30 years now, it's old hat. Already tested all of GR.3, GR.4 and N100 don't interest me. I;m going to enjoy Sarthe some more tonight though, likely not to see it again for a while.

So this week in Race C - Gr1 at LeMans, I've went from DR 33.600 to 51.600 in 908, can't count how many victories there were... Really enjoyed this event and the car...

I like that Yamigawa track. Not sure how it will be with the N100 car. Race B, little interest. Race C, definitely not.

Do they have something against group 2 races? Also about sick of dragon trail racing by now. Its like they only have 4 tracks to choose from anymore

I did some DTG custom races. I'll be using the Mustang all week. It's got that excellent off throttle tuck. The brakes are superb as well. Using 3rd gear at all the slower corners except the hairpin.
I'd gather the RC F suspension might be just that bit softer for a bit of curb hopping, but the Mustang is damn strong everywhere. My runs in the NSX and Atenza are good, but the Mustang puts the power down loverly, even with TCS 3. So easy through the "Four Brothers" right handers.

Another car I think will be good, the SLS. It handles like an MR, just without the sliding. Can't wait.

I think of them as one big corner. I don't know what everyone's beef with the track is. I kinda dig it. Not sure about Suzuka. I've been fighting the track with the F1 since the update and I'm kinda sick of it.

I think what dulls the experience is, there are no views. It's like Motegi. You can't get a glimpse of the scenery, beyond the stands.

Mount Panorama, well, the name is self explanatory. Dragon Trail, Nurburgring GP, St Croix, even the airport track, gives the player something else to look at.

Ugh bad start to racing tonight. First no sound, then the screen goes black right at the start. I'm desperately switching channels on the amp and tv to get the picture back and there I am 20th with the field gone again. Why is modern technology so fragile! I finished 9th, got stuck in traffic a couple times. The no-stopper is still grinding along anyway.

Sound check, picture check, hope it stays on for the next race. We already had a power outage earlier tonight, so that's out of the way, right...

Not looking forward to next week, 3 hours left to enjoy GR.1

I guess not, 12:09 power outage again :banghead: I got punted off in the Porsche curves as well lap 1, front is dirty tonight. So I guess SR down as well next to huge DR drop.

SR was still good enough for the fast room, just 1800 DR loss, minor scratch, it'll buff out.

1 am, everyone or nearly everyone gets disconnected during warm-up :banghead::banghead::banghead:

Not everyone got disconnected, -1600 DR again, 3.4K loss from technical difficulties. I got 700 DR back from winning the next race. I cant imagine how frustrating disconnects are at A+ level :/

Looks like race c will be the go for the next week anyone know if tuning is going to be a thing again or will it be full bop settings?

Mate, if you have time to take in the scenery, you aren't trying hard enough!

When I race I have a death grip on the wheel (figuratively speaking.. DS4 user) hanging on for dear life and praying I can finish the race without coming off the track! I'm focused on the next corner, the car in front of me and maybe the radar . Half the time I have no idea what the name of the driver in front of me is, I barely register their nationality! The thoughts running through my mind are not so much "My, those are pretty yellow butterflies." at Alsace and more "ohcrapohcrapohcrap!!! Turn ya bastard turn!"

It's the Honda Beat '91 for race A and no tuning for any of the races.

I won the last 3 races on Sarthe, competition wasn's as big though. Despite placing 4th, 2nd and 3 victories my DR went down from where I started tonight thanks to technical difficulties. Anyway there was some good racing at the end, farewell Sarthe, who knows when you'll be back. Perhaps I'll race on Suzuka a few times next week, it's going to feel so slow after GR.1

Figured it would be the Honda Beat for Race A but that's cool as I think that will be my go to race this week along with Race B.

got A+ rank in last Sarthe race :gtpflag:

unfortunately, Suzuka without tuning
for me it's time to go back to lobby racing

I feel like several cars will be competitive there, how come?

Suzuka is a nicely balanced track, not many Gr.3 cars outshine the rest, the GTLMII probably will dominate though

After not racing in Sport mode for over a month, I decided the Beat at Kyoto might be OK. Large track, small car....and on my alternate account so I dont lose my DR A on the main acct. I qualified second and passed for the lead when the car in front went off track at the big left sweeper. I got passed again by someone else braking for the first chicane. Putting on the pressure works, I was gaining on him through the uphill esses and he got loose and bounced off the guardrails. I cruised home for the win. SR still 99, bumped up DR 300 points. Woo hoo.

Torque Monster! AWD won't save you. It's a beast pulling from 3rd gear. If I didn't go off before the Four Brothers on lap 3, I would have been able to get by before the last lap.

Corner exit on the final turn got me so close.

Please, keep using that META. Love playing the underdog. :)

I loved having tuning back in Sport mode, I really hope they bring it back for Race C. I am bored of driving cars with gimped default setups.

I believe the only reason we had it for Race C last week was the track being Circuit De La Sarthe so a tuning setup was kind of essential
than a stock car hitting the limiter down the straights.

Tuning in Daily Races in general is fairly random and not predictable at the moment.

I swear manual gears has cursed me. I went to SR C after 2 races at Le Mans last week. However I got myself back to SR B after a strong showing at Maggiore. I managed to get a win in my Audi R8; I now have 69 of them...

It's too blue collar for many players. If it had a Bull or Prancing Hor.... uhhh, what was my point?...

You could be right. Those things are everywhere out on the streets. I blame you. But then again if the Megane could become a META, I reckon any one could. I wanna see a GR4 Hellcat or Camaro .

I swear manual gears has cursed me.

You made the change to MT?

@darth_tails tuning should be part of races now, especially the Race C since races are now a week here and there is a lot of time for fine tuning etc. Of course, those that don't wanna do it, don't need to, because there will always be people that don't do it... And at the end of the day, there is always this and similar forums with community that will share a lot of stuff so noone is left behind...
