Livid.... Lead from the front at Brands for 10 laps. Second was ever so slightly closing, may have been an interesting last lap. Come up against a backmarker who refuses to move over and at the top of the hill touches the grass, goes sideways and smashes me off the track. Luckily I ended up no worse than second but why the **** don't people move over?

I had that yesterday on La Maggiore, 7 laps in and in 1st place came up against a backmarker who refused to give way and he sent me off at the S's. Finished 3rd

My first run on Big Willow this morning was fun.

It was with my C/C account, and I didn't have time to qualify so started 14 of 15.

By lap 2 I was in 6th! Cars going off left, right & centre, and I never actually got to over take a single car.

Ended the race 5th.

The Brands Hatch Gr. 1 race was a lot of fun. The only issue was lapped traffic. Overall I think this is much cleaner than any Gr. 4 race. Mistakes cost too much time, so the drivers that resort to blocking, dive bombing, and ramming generally can't keep pace for 12 laps.

So here's a question: I've been lapped recently on the oval tracks. Let's say that I'm not quite in last place and am trying to maintain my position so I don't finish last. If one of the race leaders laps me during that time, what exactly am I supposed to do? Relent and let everyone pass, including those ranked below me? Or do I hold my position? I don't go out of my way to block race leaders, but sometimes I can't quite clear the path like they want me to because I'm trying to traverse a turn while trying to stay ahead of drivers ranked below me.

Big Willow is fun. Everybody is too afraid ending up in the dessert so respect is high. Maybe they should put lava near every track. Off track is dead :p

I managed to get a up of my ratings.

Apparently I don't have the Lancer Final Edition GRB Road Car that's needed for the Willow Springs race, today. Where can I buy it? It isn't in Mitsubishi's showroom.

Patch balances seem to be working fairly.

Went from C to E at a single race at Interlargos by being battered and rammed to kingdom come. Should of just quit from the first bend

Really enjoying the Lancer at Big Willow, great combination. Makes sense since the car is a road version of a GR B car. Had a good battle last night swapping the lead back and forth until I dropped a tire in the dirt. Currently 3 tenths off the top 10 time, but I know I can go faster. Will be revisiting this race tonight for sure.

Well you don’t just go “oh look a faster driver I’ll pull over”

A driver who is that much better than you will get into a position to pass and you you’ll not ram or block him, I don’t know how to explain it without sounding patronising so apologies if it’s sounds like that

That's usually my frame of mind when it's happening. I feel that there's plenty of room for them to pass. I don't really want to upset my flow, especially if I'm not being a threat to their position. I just find it weird that sometimes they get right behind me and start flashing their beams.

I just did a few brands hatch Gr1 races today expecting it to be total carnage... But to my surprise it was even worst than I thought, qualified in 3rd place for the first two races and finished 10th and 16th after being bumped to last place on t1, the next race qualified 4th and finished 7th and in the cleanest race of all I managed to qualify 5th, lost a couple positions on lap 1 and manage to get 3rd place until I make a mistake in lap 11 and ended finishing 8th...

I'm going out.

A little rant here but this has been bugging me for a long time about Sport Mode.

PD needs to get with the times and let us do our own setups with BOP on already, would be nice to be able to stick with one car and have multiple setups for different types of tracks. Instead of just resorting to whatever car has the best default setup on a given track. For those who don't want it, there are tons of setups on this site and youtube. All you have to do is bring it up in your browser on your phone and copy it into the game, it's really that easy.

What is it about tuning that puts the fear into people in this game? I've never seen anything like it anywhere else. It is commonplace in literally every other racer that I've owned but in GT (especially on this forum) people treat it like it's a sacrilege.

You can't be DR A if SR C?

I don't agree.

The dailys are about having a easy accesible competition imo, where you can casually put in some qualy laps and then go racing and find competitors because of the matchmaking. If you put all this setup stuff into the equation you're maikng the dailys too complicated especially for casual gamers.

With the FIA Races you could argue about the possibility of using your own setup because these races are meant to be "more important" and "more serious". But for me it's fine like the way it is.

I almost threw away a race win yesterday in the Group 1 daily at Brands. I started first in my 919 and by the third corner behind the pits, I was off the track in a big way. Far too aggressive over the ripple strip and lost the back end. Dropped back to 7th and my situation looked pretty bleak, but I somehow got myself up to third place without much fuss. The leader looked to be too far in front, until he spun off the track before the last turn. I was then in second place and had to contend with a Bugatti, but I passed him quite quickly, and won the race.

Big Willow was good to me tonight, regained dr AND sr, did 20ish laps to find my limit then entered, got 2 clean race bonus' too, best quit while i'm ahead. :-)

Wish I could suss the final corner out properly. Ha.

Big Willow didn't start out all that great, literally 1 second from reaching the finish

It's a fun track yet I had to resort to bad measures in another race after getting hit 5 times in a row within the first minute. Brake checked him at 0:56 causing him to eat dirt. No way was I going through the final corner with that kind of driver behind me.

Imo the dirt should be a lot less forgiving as well, people just drive on like it's just a bumpy road, any penalties scrubbed by the end.

Races are better than on Monza anyway. I haven't tried GR1 on Brand's hatch yet, SotC remake is calling me away. I thought GTS looked good, however that 12 year old game is making my jaw drop to the floor all over again.

People in this race are trying to dive-bomb every turn, especially higher ranked drivers, because they can't catch up to each other. I've had players make very risky and aggressive dive-bombs to try overtaking and every time it was me that prevented a collision. They are counting on you to disappear from the way and that is not good. Any other track would not allow that. Anyway still some very fun races, although I'm being matched against S DR players and it sucks since I need a couple first place finishes to get Dr A.

Just watched someone work his way up from near the bottom rung of the grid all the way up to 3rd at Big Willow. Car was teleporting back and forth. Have to wonder if it was a lag switch or something because he conveniently managed to knock a bunch of people off the track and into the sand. I finished 4th, so he unintentionally cleared a path for me. Still, pretty suspect. I wanted to overtake, but I didn’t want to risk getting knocked out.

Big Willow was cursed for me tonight.

I have been steadily climbing to DR S and was close to 2500 points away from reaching it before the start of my evening races.

I put down a top 10 time of 1:16.700 and consistently ran clean fast laps in practice. I won my first race and even though I had either pole or a top 5 position on the remaining races, I finished between 7th and 11th place after making stupid mistakes.

To make matters worse, my SR dropped a level for the first time of my GT Sport career. I lost about 3000 DR points as well.

Needless to say, I enjoyed the car and close racing but I paid heavily for every mistake tonight.

Looking forward to tomorrow’s races and definitely ready to focus again on some clean wins.

Yeah passing on an oval isn't so hard. What a backmarker on an oval should never do is anything unexpected. Stay clean and predictable and if they are fast they will slingshot by.

I also climbed from D/E to C/B it was a decent track / racing. I to wish I could suss out the final corner can someone advise the optimum way to take it. I was in 5th and at the break marker just released gas and tried to coast the corner in 5th until I could accelerate out of it...
