A Ford in 05 Marlboro colours? That'll do me.

It was intended to hack off the Ford fans :p. Here it is at Murry's :

Been doing Race A. A repeat is good for slow learners like me.

That standing start is killing me. Just can't get it right. :ouch:

Manage to get a decent Q time, just under 1.07. But still getting mid-pack starts. Even last night. :(

I decided to run some races at Dragon Trail yesterday, despite the reverse layout. I figured since so many people know DT Seaside so well, then the reverse layout there would be less chaotic than just about any other track.

Wrong. Ok, maybe a little bit right, but that doesn't mean I wasn't rammed into and pushed off track in almost every race by people who have a hard time racing in close proximity.

I even punted two different people accidentally because I was rammed from behind while trying to battle. I hope they watched the replay and saw what actually happened.

It just seems to me like people are desperate to win and will attempt the pass at all costs. And as far as giving positions back after punting someone? Nah bro, not gonna happen, those guys would rather just burn their 3-5s penalty before finish and keep those spots.

At one point I was in 3rd place behind a 86GT, he qualified ahead of me but I had a quicker pace than him on track (I didn't spend much time qualifying for my 1:48.0) and since I was in the Lexus RCF, I had way more top end than him. I had been in a few races with him already and things were clean so I figured we would work together to try and catch the leader instead of me passing him on the straights and risk battling him too much. So I draft bumped him 2 different times on the long straights. Finally he messed up exiting the chicane of death and I got a better exit than him going uphill toward the esses, so I made the pass instead of bumping him again because we were much closer to the leader. Of course, first downhill right into the esses and he slams the rear of my car sending me off track and into the wall. Didn't wait for me, not even a flash of lights. He left the lobby right after the race ended and I didn't see him again.

Basically this happened over and over again just about any time I got close enough to battle and overtake someone, with a few exceptions. I had one 2nd place finish, another couple 3rd places, and a few top 5's or lower, but even the top 5's were a result of getting punted and working my way back. Yeah I made some mistakes along the way that cost me positions too, but if it weren't for all the unnecessary contact I'm certain I would have had more podiums.

Oh and in case anyone is looking for a good alternative to the FF cars or the Huracan in this race, try the Lexus, it's a beast on the straights (faster than Mustang and Vette) and still has real good turn-in with the BB set to the rear. Still not quite as fast as the TT or Megane, but if you get in their slipstream it's enough to stay close and catch them in the turns, where they suck hard.

I was in one of your races and saw it all. I hit a Huracán in the slowing left-hander after the chicane because he slammed on the brakes at the last minute. That caused someone else to hit me and I spun. He waited up for me (good sport) even though it wasn't his fault. I finished last for the first time ever in more than 500 races. The other two races were OK but I was starting up front. Got a victory in one and dropped to fourth in another after two making clean passes on me and the third getting by me when I put a wheel on the grass.

I am going to move to Race C. Like you say, A and B are too short, and DT - Seaside II is too technical for sprint races. It works at wide tracks like St. Croixe or Kyoto. It's a shame because I like the Gr.4 + Seaside II combo.

I'm having a hideous day,. Dropped from DR.A SR.S - to DR.B and SR.C in just 3 races!?, Race 1, Got bumped 9 times by the same driver in just 2 laps (almost every corner), I then couldn't avoid a 3 car pile up and collided with 2 of them, 5sec + 8sec penalty in the time it takes to WTF in Swahili .
Race 2, Room got booted
Race 2, again room got booted
Race 2, I'm in, grid all over the place, race start and lap one is perfect and I'm in 2nd place, driver behind brakes into me and i hit the wall, flashing SR drop (is the flashing new?) and 5sec penalty, I carry on in 8th place, car in front is ghosting I take a different line, but he thinks to try and avoid me in case he solidifies.... he takes my line and goes solid, I get 10sec penalties and another flashing SR drop. Last lap, I spin out finishing in 12th.
Race 3. Pole position, first corner I get proper buggered by car 3 and 5, I hit the wall and get 10 sec penalty. Rage Quit is imminent, I carry on in 8th and see two cars ahead battling and ghosting each other, I slow right down to avoid any contact.....you guessed it..My SR drops and there's no one anywhere near me wtf is goin on!?. I'm now on last lap and in 9th place, it's a good lap (no one around me lol), about to cross the line and the room gets booted......Gt Sport caused me to rage quit (literally pulled the plugs from the wall socket!, no 'PS button, power options, shutdown - just straight up yanked the cables out $£"%*!!) and then kill a harmless False Widow Spider in utter disbelief

Man, I saw all that chaos you were involved in through my rear view. I was hoping we'd come together eventually and have a good race but after seeing all that smoke and ghosting I knew you'd be caught up in the huge mess.

Better luck next time and hope to see you on the track again.

I've also experienced similar things yesterday. Shortly after the start I was rammed in turn 2 and was then last. On my way forward, I passed many drivers who apparently did not know the route. For the resulting contacts there was massive SR deduction.
I do not understand that. Why are these drivers driving the race if they do not know the track? Some had no qualifying time and others were 10 to 20 seconds slower than me. Why do I have to drive with drivers like this at all? I'm not the fastest but at least B/S.
It would be reasonably OK if they were at least fair. But no, they are blocking and if you then overtook them it is rammed in the next turn. That makes no sense if you are so much slower and do not know the route. For a hard and fair fight you should know the route and the limits of the cars. In addition, you should have about the same speed as the other driver. If this is not the case, it makes no sense to fight bitterly or to try to overtake extremely aggressively.
They probably want to experience thrilling races but are too slow, too inconsistent and probably frustrated because of the bad placement. Training and getting to know the track would help. But that's probably too boring for them.
Seems like the racers you encountered are using the actual race for practice, and learning the track on the fly.

WARNING - Just done race B - Auto drive didn't disengage until the straight at the end of the first lap.

It may be a one off but beware !!!!!!!

Oh I was always a believer i just wanted to see it as I like close racing. That was truly nuts and TBh the guy behind was absolutely EPIC in term sof hounding you without turfing you.

He needs a medal. I was defending pretty hard and he was piling the pressure on. That's how racing should be. He could've bumped, shoved or divebombed for the win but didn't.

It was a great few races with that person last night.

Tonight, I've just hit DR:A+ :) Let's see how long I can stay there lol.

Has anyone mentioned how this is the same assortment of races from about two months ago?
"Daily" Races 03/09 - 10/09
A - N100(Mini Cooper S) - Suzuka East Course - 7 Laps
B - Gr3 - Nurburgring GP - 4 Laps - Rolling Start - No Tune
C - Gr2 - Red Bull Ring - 13 Laps - Fuel x8 Tyres x10 - Grid Start - No Tune

I know people can just check http://www.kudosprime.com/gts/events.php but I like having them in here :)

Not really.

I love the way we have set races at set times as it guarantees a pretty much full field of racers every 20mins or so. Unfortunately with there only being 3 choices of race type/track (bar FIA races) it limits the choice even further. THEN to only have 1 longer race (which I enjoy the most) is even more painful! I just wish we'd at least have the choice to select a long or short race option on each track choice they give us. Maybe the amount of ppl on each race would suffer? but I find it's almost pointless driving for just e.g. 4 laps every 20mins. Pretty pointless racing on the lobbies as it doesn't impact your dr and sr rating, maybe if I had more mates that enjoyed this game I'd find the lobbies more worthwhile (just for the fun of it ).

I'm sure the Bathurst race was around that time. Even the fact that Race A is a copy of something so recent is ridiculous.
Yeah there was a Weekly Bathurst race C with Gr.3 in roughly the middle of August. I remember trying a different car each race; some good fun!

I didn't play for two weeks due to lack of time, and today I raced on Bathurst, and understandably I'm pretty bad (B/S)... But i won the race, because apparently there are bunch of people worse than me, hitting the walls and whatnot...
New tire model or something ? , the game feels different significantly ?

They changed the tyre model with one of the recent updates, but that was more than two weeks ago. I'm finding the rear end keeps locking up when it never used to on just about every car. Not a fan :yuck:.
