I find it very rewarding when I manage to finish on the podium, starting from last, with the fastest lap under my name. I got a couple 2nd places again last night, one as close as 6 seconds to first. Getting contact free through the field is much more fun than starting up front and driving by myself most of the race. The main problem is matchmaking of course, or rather not enough people entering the races. When I did all those Nordschleife runs with qualifying I got many pole positions and plenty easy wins. On any other track I would be bored.

My experience is also that people starting at the top can be quite unpleasant. I had the replay saved from the race where a fast player, that dropped me to SR.A in one race, went to SR.D himself. After seeing his temper in action I just have to share:

I see him waiting for someone then he starts to ram this person every chance he gets... So I go back to the start to see what set him off. He's fast, he usually starts on pole and simply runs ahead. (And I'm glad I don't have to race him starting last!) Here he decided to do a no stop run. He sucks at it, gets frustrated in lap 3 (second half of the video above) when he's about to drop to 6. 6th place is frustrated because of his slow driving, doesn't manage to pass and contact happens. It kinda looks like a block from our fast player as well. The next lap the fast player keeps him (and everyone else) behind, then at the end of the video he blocks the pit lane.... (remember he's doing a no stop) and drives around waiting for him (where the video started)

Yeah I rather race in the back then with these kind of people!

I have no problem sticking to SR.S so I don't really meet the bad blockers as often. And when I do I pit in lap 4 and end up way ahead of them after they pit. The first half of the race is usually the 'easy' yet careful passes. Patiently predict and avoid then pass contact free when there is a safe opening. In the second half I get the go for the fastest lap and chase the fast people. They always end up in range when they're battling each other.

Last night I had my second closest finish ever, I lost the battle for 3rd place by 1 ms coming from behind.

I backed off at the Conrod straight, falling just a little short to attempt out braking. Then tried to pass in the final turn when he was defending the inside line. Almost pulled it off!

It doesn't always go that well. My dog wanted to go for a walk in the evening. So he got all cute in my way and laid down on the keyboard while I was refueling. He pressed the enter key and made me leave over a lap of fuel short :banghead:

GT League in sport mode definitely has a novelty factor and its not completely without its fun bits.

However my experience was that racing from the back I "ran into" too many "fast" players like this coming up through the field.

Well, it’s been a while, but I am glad I got a chance to race the mountain!
I qualified up in my trusty m6. Got on the starting grid 16 I think. Top of room was SS dr bottom was me at BS
Off we go then up up and away!
Basically I got taken out twice. The second time irritated me because he spun me out just before exiting down onto the last straight. Whoever it was slowed but I somehow got reset before the corner.
Anyways I caught and finished right on his bumper, I could have taken him out easily the last two corners but I just don’t go there.
On replay I saw he was trying to wait up but my car disappeared to his view. Still caught him anyways.
Whoever said there are a few bad apples today was right in my opinion. The first time I got taken out was coming under the bridge before the dipper. This guy was quite fast but he went left of me all four wheels on the grass to get overlap! Yes, there was contact and got spun out and lost like five positions.
I think he was expecting me to brake too much for that part and swoop in and get online with a late brake.
However I enter that part well and he basically cut the track and forced contact.
Ah well, I lost 300 dr but I still went up 3 positions and still 99.
Nice to see on replay that the guy who took me out the second time waited up. Wasn’t intentional.
The first guy was just a very over aggressive and probably young driver. I forgive him.

I have been very lucky to mostly have the last place start to myself. The weeklies help with people qualifying so I don't have to deal much with the impatient other fast drivers behind me. However today is Sunday so all bets are off. And of course straight away another A/S driver starts behind. No problem any other day of the week yet I know this one, it's probably not going to go well.

First lap, I'm staying my usual 0.5 sec behind the slow traffic, not overtaking until the Conrod straight as the field is still too dense. The other A/S driver behind me doesn't have the patience and starts poking at every turn. I guess I should have just moved over as in Forest Elbow he punts me and I end up turned around over 10 sec behind the field.

Next race he starts behind me again and is even more impatient. Drafts up my inside for T1 and runs me off not caring about any traffic in front. I catch up and he does the same thing again. In a 3rd race I let him go ahead, then he doesn't compensate for the slow driver in front of me and crashes. I avoid him and think good riddance. Unfortunately not as a Brazilian takes me out in the Chase. Anyway after that race I did not see him anymore.

I did have a great battle with pole position in one of those races. He must have crashed to the back as I got him in my sights while in p8. Managed to reel him in, stay on his tail for a lap then pass him on the way to T2 in the final lap. I was comfortably ahead on the Conrod straight when I ran out of fuel :banghead: Brain fart, I must have gotten 81% instead of 91% when pitting in lap 4.

It's Sunday all right, beware of the bad drivers. Here are the penalties I got today
BQyS8t6.gif

3 sec for getting rammed.

I got another penalty there today from a front bumper tapping my rear bumper in the slight right while I'm as far right as possible. People do not know the dimensions of their car. I much rather take that corner along the outside. I have no issue taking it at full speed driving on the left edge. And even if the car on the inside screws up and taps me I can get the car back on the road and still brake in time without any penalties.

There also was this penalty
ROdYuly.gif

I guess he slightly scraped the wall after touching my car. Again I prefer the outside there or just wait. He was going so slow though, still recovering from messing up T2.

Edit: Oh, I just realized I passed under a yellow flag. I forgot that was still a thing :dunce:

Another great pass rewarded with a penalty. I was lucky to stay on the road with that late braking Beetle.

The 1 sec had no influence on the outcome as they all crashed each other off behind me.

Yet finally a double pass without penalties and everyone staying on the road :)

Outside, Inside, Outside, best way to go.

SundaySundaySunday!!!! Monster Trucks!!! Demolition Derby!!!!!! Death destruction and more!!!! Good morning and welcome, to all the drama, of Mount Crashorama!!!!! Race cam will cover all the action of today's (cough) race......:crazy:

Wanted to do a last race in Dragon Trail. Got Pole Position. But also got disconnected after the loading screen. Kind of frustrating.

Sux, don't it? I had that happen to me early on in the week. Race matching lately has been somewhat less than balanced, so for me to start in the top 5 has been rare. I was slated for P3 when it happened. I think when I was finally able to race I started P8 or P10 .

Question! In the Fuji N200 race this week, are we able to use, for example, a detuned N400 car?

Wah, no more Bathurst. I don't want to check how many hours I wasted on that track last week, it was all worth it. Racing standards were high for a Sunday evening / night.

It was great to race @NosOsH for real, although that mostly happened due to his bad luck in the beginning of the race. Lots of great close racing to end the week with. Now I have a big debt to pay to the sleep fairy...

Thanks mate, that’s such a shame it’s a OMR how boring! I want to improve my SR again as I was on race b all last week, so I’ll have to race at Fuji a fair few times

Took me a while, but I enjoyed last weeks race B after I discovered just how fast you can take the first chicane. Had some good races on there, and somehow managed to pick up a couple of wins. The track encourages good racing and clean overtakes are possible.

I love Bathurst, but have never been remotely close to winning there. Usually turns into demolition derby. Can't wait for it to appear again though.

My task for this week is to get up to speed at Suzuka. It might take me a few days. Any ideas which Gr 3 car is going to be well suited to this track? I generally find the Genesis to be the most neutral handling, but I don't think that it is the fastest.

The good ol' Beetle or the 911 RSR for race pace, or go down the @Tidgney route and use the RCZ. The R.S.01 has the one lap pace, but it can kick the rear end out when exiting from the Dunlop Hairpin. And watch out for the Ford GT LM and the Toyota FT-1 as well for a combination of handling and top end speed.

I made top 10(9th) with a 2:05.685.
Started with a 2:07.7. Then, 2:06.4. Then, my top 10 time. I can go faster.
4th gear for T2, saw me gain lots of time.

Edit:
2:05.558

Edit2: anyone having problems entering Race C? I'm stuck in the clock screen.

Edit3:
2:05.423; battling 9th in the top 10.

Finally got a race in. Started 2nd. TCS1 got me the hole shot to 1st with pole sitter spinning tyres.

Lead for 5 laps 4 seconds clear. Tyres fell off a cliff while 2nd place was catching me. Passed me on lap 6 and pulled away to 5 seconds at the finish.

I caught a .6 second penalty, when my tyres were like driving on ice. Managed to pull away from 3rd from a 5 second to 7 second gap at the finish.

If I had got in the first couple races, I'd know how the tyres fade. Oh well. No dramas.

I really enjoyed the Bathurst week, I wish there was more GRP3 and GRP4 racing instead of all of the 1 make racing there seems to be at the moment.

Yeah. I hadn't checked the start type, went no TCS and put it into 2nd early which was a really bad move and I was at least 10th after the first corner.

The lobby weirdness was even stranger here. Initially it seemed as though you had suffered a DC, then during warm up your "hello" message appeared and mysteriously you were on the grid.

I mentioned earlier about being stuck at the clock screen. Restarted my PS4 three times. And just lucky to get in this race.
That's how it was. I was waiting.. Waiting... And then, it reads "Warm up completed.". Say what?

Good comeback by you. I had nothing left. Even staying in higher gears. Front tyres said bye bye.

*Looks at this weeks Sport mode offering*

Plays other games for the week.....

Curiosity of mine... How is going Race C??? Lot´s of carnage.. or.. by the contrary??? And the Toyota is N200 in this race?

Fairly messy races for me so far SR down around 20 points and got spun at the 1st corner on lap 1, felt like I was hit about 3 times. Was on the outside so if you get a chance move towards the right, unless your racing in better company I was B/S now B/A. Bit frustrating because the first race wasn't shaping up to badly but I had to answer the door and auto drive lost me a few positions. Disconnected just now for the next race.
Edit: Managed to improve my time a little and started 3rd next race, went to the inside this time, a bit too far right to be honest and got small penalty nobody bothered hitting me though. Started 3rd finished 3rd and got a blue SR. Guess you just need to be lucky and watch your radar.

Thanks! I think then.. that its going according to what I beleive, was expected...

Big fun with the Fiat 500 at Lago Center for the slow car , sadly for the GT3 zzzzzs we have to deal with a ice cream track feeling while driving normally a good track but not in Gt Sport , and numero 3 will be for later in the week .
