First race for the night, I took the kitty for a walk around Suzuka. I was able to get within a few 100ths of my quali time from last night, so I didn't feel I was cheating using my GTR qualifying time. Last night that time put me P4 on the grid. Tonight was a mixed grid of primarily DR/D with a few Cs. People have obviously been practising.... a lot ! P9/14. The pole sitter was almost 5s faster than me and almost 2s faster than P2/3.

The sucky thing about starting P9 at Suzuka, is that auto drive dumps you smack bang in the middle of the chicane . I was doing alright and was hanging on to P7 when I ended up in the sand avoiding contact with the car passing me. From then on the handling of the car turned into a big steaming pile of brown stuff and I just couldn't get back the rhythm. Turns I was making, I stopped making and ended up off track. In the end I finished P12. Don't think I'll be using the Jag again.

SR remained on 99, DR dropped 670. My next race report may not end with "another day above DR1" .

It's funny you mention Brands. On both Brands and Suzuka I can usually find a consistent rhythm to the course and enter a thoughtless trance like state. I'm not fast but I usually pass several people just by staying off of the lawn.

I found that if I sit back try keeping out of trouble you make progress I will try to pressure who is front of me aswel forcing a mistake but I never Ram anyone my sr is s 99 love brands hatch & suzaka but my god there is no room for error

Suzuka requires minimal error, I once ruined my quali lap and didn't have enough time to finish the other.

But atleast I went from 16th to 7th.

It's unreasonably difficult in this game. I can clap around Bathurst doing 2.06's but can can barely do the same time at the shorter Suzuka (equivalent time would be a 2.03) and if you so much as TOUCH the grass you spin a dozen times. Cannot find any rhythm there, i find it impossible to race on and difficult to just keep the car on track on my own.

I find that the main points of the track are, I know it’s almost the entire track, but tackle them one by one:

First turn and the esses, the uphill left makes a huge difference.

Hairpin.

The exit of the Spoon turn.

Barely lift just before the 130R.

Try to floor it as soon as possible out of the last chicane.

I’m not the fastest, and it’s been some time that I don’t play it consistently, but I was still able to do a 2:00.2 paying attention to these points.

I did one race on Fuji as I've never raced there before (online). The week it was on I was on the Nordschleife.

So I start last, never driven the car before afaik, damn it's so slow! I saw some penalties here and there yet managed to avoid it all and passed a few people as well. I finished 7th, got commended for my clean driving, clean race bonus, and all I was thinking was, I'm glad I didn't nod off during that race. Not even a pit stop for some 'excitement'. The track is so wide and then there are no real track limits either as I saw people go on either side of the kerbs without any issues.

Hmm it says I did 2 online races on Fuji and 21 laps. Was it that Fia race I did? Must be. I guess it wasn't very memorable

Found it, internet has a better memory than me. GR.1 with a broken car.

I have to disagree, Fuji is a beautiful track. It’s wide and allows many overtaking or over under opportunities.

I’m slow and in turn 1 being able to actually get off throttle and brake before the apex. Then on throttle before those cones they’ll say don’t use really help me.

It is supposed to allow different cars, long straight and twisted bits, but it’s mostly power and some small bit of handling can handle it.

At any rate, yes, yes this is a slow, slow race and you and my friends have already dusted my time.

Good times and keep posting, I enjoy reading the adventures into Sports Mode, I can’t make everyday and really enjoy them.

I hope that now I have time I can toss a Suzuka replay. It was from Tuesday and I really did get lucky, P2 dumped allowing a gap and then there was a Porsche, from the back. The driver was fast and I was pressured and tense. It was good to finish clean, pole and P1. I mostly never do that.

I attempted 2 races on Suzuka today, one in the Lexus and one in the Porsche. The 911 was faster. Not that I was very fast and thanks to my still high DR from last week I was presented with 2 of the strongest grids ever. 4 or 5 DR.A+, rest DR.A with a few DR.S in between and a slowest qualifying time of 2:02. Then me, unqualified, and barely getting under 2:05 in the race. The leader driving 1:59 laps. Starting last was exactly where I belonged in those races.

The first race I gained a whole one position. 2 people crashed, 1 overtook me again. In the second race some more people crashed and only one passed me again. I did not pass anyone, I could hardly stay in range of the pack. The only upside, no danger to SR and clean race bonus. DR down 1132, not a lot for finishing so far down. Hot lapping behind the pack is even worse then out in front.

Anyway 2 races was enough for the daily race bonus and "I'm alive" signal to KP, back to VR for the rest of the evening.

NO!! Just got booted in the warm up screen on the last 10 second count down, SR down 5 as if it wasn't taking a pounding as it is. Come on PD make the game work, what is going on I already have to remember to restart after every other race. My SR is all over the place this week, get a good race followed by one full of rammers what is the crack, down in SR C now lol, have to avoid race C for a while and nip over to Suzuka, wish me luck. Going to need it man.

In my race last night The DR/D pole sitter qualified under 2mns. the next 2 places were 2:02. This was an all DR/D grid .

Race B and C are blatant this week. I can not remember having experienced so many aggressive and unfair riders ever since I am SR S. At Fuji I knew that because the track favors that. But Suzuka is also bad this week. Is there a logical reason for this?

I only race at B/B but i have found Suzuka pretty clean this week, lMO Bathurst last week was tougher, I am finding it easy to get a clean race this week.

First race up for the night, and I'm both confused and a bit shaky. OK, here's where I started.

As you can see, a wholly unspectacular qualifying time (actually my GTR time). I'm down near the bottom on a grid of my peers. I'm not sure if the guy on pole sprinkled fairy dust on the track or something, but I felt like Moses parting the Red Sea. I made it through with no penalties, and if it wasn't for getting rear ended at the chicane on the final lap and ending up on the turf, I'd have gotten a clean race bonus. Somehow I managed to maintain control and forward momentum and make it round without loosing the position or getting a penalty.

The part that left me confused and shaky was this:

I did not make a single proper, carefully crafted pass. I simply kept the thing moving forward and on the track. The mind boggles .

Got my two SR points back and 700 odd DR. Weirdness.

I have to admit, the races with the less powerful cars can provide some really good racing.
Fiat 500/Race A is a good example for that, had some very good (and clean!) battles there, 3 wide down the start-finish straight.

My best race so far was, when I started last and ended up being 3rd at the end.

Race A was fun last night on Lago Maggiore. The late apex lines on the turn 2 hairpin and the last turn are so antisocial but necessary to maximize speeds on the straights with those mini cars. It was funny to give up the early apex lines just to zip past the same car further down on the straights. They never adjusted their lines to match mine so they must of thought I had a faster car or something.

Finally managed to beat the 2.01 barrier at Suzuka with a 2.00.940 - Unfortunately, I am nearly 2.5 seconds off the current fastest lap and about 1.8 seconds from 10th spot.

Just don't know where I can find any more time - Respect to the top 10 drivers

Race C and A is my favourite. C is more challenging because I use TH8A H shifter and the timing for downshifting must be perfect.

A is all about racecraft and make out the most from slower car. The key is TCS = 0

The same as always, people who don't know how to race in traffic. They take the same lines and braking points as they do in qualifying and cause a bunch of crashes. I've done 4 races in the last days in Suzuka, and they've been clean for the most part, but I'm qualifying in the top 5.

Second race for the night and not quite as successful. Again started P10, but on a full grid of 16. P8 was my target 👍.

The race once again starts with me getting dropped in it in the middle of the chicane... in the wrong gear. I managed to keep it together .. for a while. I survived to get to P7, then messed up the second of the two tight turns before the hair pin and ended up in the sand . Dropped down to P12. Got going again and had to fight to keep from hitting the guy in front. Eventually he went off and I was free for a bit, but someone was catching up. I went wide at Spoon and nearly ended up in the sand, then again at the next corner. I'd totally lost the rhythm I had before, and my experience is that once you go rallying, it takes a lap to get the handling back. I managed to cross where I started, P10 .

SR maintained, DR down 214. I finished ahead of where I was last night, so I guess that's a win . Another day above DR 1 .

I'm at a 2.00.4xx (edit: it might actually be a 2.00.6xx but can't remember right now) in the 911. What are you using? I've tried the Mclaren and it feels great but just cannot quite squeeze the performance out of it to challenge my 911 time. I'm about 4 tenths off.

Turn 1 can be make or break. I can still find time against my fastest lap at degner 1 but whenever I'm up, I will fluff spoon or fluff casino.

It's become more frustrating than fun now though so I'm leaving it for a bit.

Respect to the top 10 also. Way outta my league.

Same thing at Willows Springs. I like it because you just have to stay on the track to have a good finish.

To qualify in the top 5 is certainly the key. I am BS and am usually in the middle or at the end of the field because the A and A + riders are in front. In these races, I am usually involved in many accidents with over-motivated drivers. But I was also in a pure B field once this week and started on P4. This race was very fair and clean for me. But hell broke out behind me. In the end, all drivers outside the top 5 had devaluations and time penalties. Matchmaking has a huge impact on the quality of the races. I just hope that here is still a lot improved.

Agree with all that but I can't do it, can barely keep it on the track through the uphill left hander after the esses.

I tried to use the Atenza Gr3 for Suzuka, wow it's a tough to handle.

I tried a couple of races yesterday. 3 actually. The worst races I ever had in GT Sport.

1- Disconnected from pole.
2- Pole, bumped by accident in the first lap, then bumped by everybody at least 2 or 3 times each lap. Felt like I was playing Burnout or something.
3- Pole, I was so upset with the previous races that I couldn’t focus. Made a mistake and lost a bunch of places. Just went into “just enjoy the view” mode and prayed for it to finish.

I think I’ll just go to private lobbys. I know it doesn’t mean anything, but I won’t give my DR points to those ******** bumping everybody.

Tried the Fiat race again.

My QT is 108.72. Pole has been around 106.5. And it's bye-bye on the 1st lap.

Passed 2 cars this morning with a QT 1 sec quicker who went off and I had a 2 sec lead only to lose it 2 laps later.

A second per lap, or even 1 or 2 MPH makes a huge difference.

I'm using the WRX - less likely to through you off in the kitty litter if you go an inch of track !!!
It should be fast enough, as TgTenka has a time of 1.59.053 - 7th in the EMEA rankings !!
