My thoughts on Suzuka this week: Have to say, i really love this track!!!
But then, in the beginning of the week, when i set some qualy runs, i was surprised that it felt so different than i was used to with the Gr.3
since the tire model change. My best then was a 2.00.4, with the 911. Now, i was struggling to get in to the 02's. Tryed a few cars other then the Porshe and did my fastet with the Mustang, a 01.2(yeah, with that fat bastard). In race trim, i felt most comfortble in the WRX. Have to say, i admire those who drive the GT LM! That car is so fast and respect how they can keep it on track without any mistakes! Anyway, result till now is +6000DR. But it's though! Next week, Nurburgring, another one i love to race!

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I managed to beat my time from last night by a few 10ths. What I need is a couple of seconds. Anyway i got lucky with matching and was placed P4 instead of P8/13. The race starts, P2 goes off at the esses and I'm in 3rd with a 1.5s lead. I'm just about to brake for the hair pin when BANG! Bloody disconnect :banghead:. I have spent weeks trying to work my way back up to SR/S and fighting a broken system that rewards people hitting you from behind in braking zones. Now this (we need a crying "smilie" ).

It took a while for the disconnect to register, but the loss has finally updated. Only lost 3 SR. DR is down to 213 . I lost nearly 1k. Screw this, I'm watching Detective Conan :dopey:.

I restart the beast after every race.

I restart the beast after every race.

Restarting only works for the bug where you get re-set to the sport mode selection screen. It does not prevent a disconnect during an active race. The system sees it as poor sportsmanship, so you loose SR, and effectively finishing last, so you loose whatever DR you would loose for coming last. The game is too brain dead to differentiate between choosing to quit in the middle of a race and a network error message.

Three races at Suzuka today: two 2nds, and a 7th. Good clean racing.

Qually time 2.01.9. Really struggling to chip away at my time.
Qually and raced in the Beetle.

Was nice to see a mixture of cars in the top 10 qually times this morning.

Unfortunately this has nothing to do with brain dead. When fines were first introduced for deliberately leaving a race, many simply turned off their modem or disconnected the cable. With that they were out without a penalty. The developers have responded and now punish every leave of the race. So we can thank those who use every trick for their own benefit.

After having a break I decided to have a go at the midnight run. Previous experience had me expecting to start about P8-P11. Most of the races have had the people ahead of me a couple of seconds faster. I got lucky the last race... had I not been disconnected. Well I guess lightning does strike twice. I started P3. I can only assume there was enough people wanting to do that race for them to match me with the trifecta.. SR/DR/DR points. I was down a lot so I can only guess I was matched with other low point drivers ... who were much slower than me. Or the stars were in alignment and I just got lucky .

The race starts, we plunge head long towards T1, and the Ferrari behind me (I think it was a Ferrari... some kind of road roach :dopey:) tries to make a run for the inside. I was already turning when he hit. I got lucky and kept it on the track... barely. P1 dumps it in the sand at Degner in a "the only way you're gonna get out of this is a re-spawn" kinda way and suddenly I'm in P2. I was doing well hanging within 1.5s of P1, sometimes less than 1s, till lap 3... I buggered up the exit of the first corner at Degner and went into the sand long enough to loose momentum before getting onto the tarmac bit that sticks out next to the wall :scared:. The guy behind went from 4s behind to right up my watsit. I was still ahead coming out of the hairpin. His car was making a funny noise, and at spoon he tried to make a move, but I managed to stay ahead. I didn't hear any collision, didn't see any sign of contact, but an orange SR popped up . Looking at the replay, he was laggy... the car was a bit jerky. Anyway I finished :

Pretty happy with that, but still pondering what might have been :p.

SR up 4, DR up about 70 shy of what I lost from the disconnect. Another day above DR 1 :dopey:.

Apologies to anyone to anyone who started behind me in race C last night around 23:40 uk time. I must have idly pulled the down shift at on the start line and started in reverse :( sorry haven’t done that before and won’t do it again.... I hope. Oddly I didn’t get a penalty, so I slowed to let some cars past, who then all ended up in a big first corner accident.

Le mans gr1 for race c next week looks good. Might actually get around to playing some GTS for the first time in weeks

For my last harrah at Suzuka I thought I'd break out the black bird. Sadly every man and his dog apparently did the same thing. There was quite a few 911s on the grid. After the luck I had with race matching last night, looks like it's back to business as usual, P11/15 and a second off the pace for P5 .

I think actually getting dumped at the chicane helped me at the start because I was able to negotiate it better than those behind, and time lost negotiating it meant I had a gap in front so I was free to brake wherever the heck I wanted for T1/2. It didn't take long for people to start sliding off or spinning out. During practice I found I had to change the BB to -5 to stop me locking up at Degner, and I dropped TCS to 2 to get a bit of rear end assist around the corners. I tried 1.....I lack the subtly for that. I'm the kinda person who uses a sledge hammer instead of a screw driver .

I slowly made my way up through the grid, past the wreckage strewn across the battle field. I had a guy spin out before the hairpin, then join the track in front of me and spun out again. I had no where to go so I just had to drive through his nose. The expected SR down never came. I finished P6 with a clean race bonus :scared:. Again it seems to go back to what others have observed. Stay on the track and you will make up places 👍.

SR back to max. DR up about 350. Common sense says I should quit while I'm ahead, but I'm going to do one last race after midnight :dopey:.

It´s done! Thank you PD for bringing races on Fuji this week, so i was able to complete the 75.000 points driver rating. :D
I had a top at 73.000 several months ago, but disconnects and crashes or offtracks in many races prevented me from getting the last couple of points.
I was stuck in a range between 70.000-73.000 points for a long time.
Now after 568 races and 262 wins i finally reached my goal.

The insanity, the madness, the carnage that is Suzuka continues... for the last time. One last run with the black bird for this week. With only 2 laps I wasn't able to improve on my time before the start, so P7/15 for me. There were no DR/cs this race, but the pole sitter was on 2:00. I was still 1s away from P5:odd:.

I started just exiting the chicane and I made a clean start. T1 I had to adjust my line because I was very close to the guy in front. There was already someone off into the sand. I was doing well, keeping my nose clean, till I got to T15 (the left hander at the end of the strait after Spoon). I had been nailing that in the previous race, but i messed up my line and went wide. I had to go softly softly to keep from ended up in the sand or spun out, but I got it back on the track without loosing much behind me. The guys in front on the other hand got well ahead  . So much for my clean race streak :yuck:. Next 3 times around and I nailed it in 5th. Not too much drama, but i took too much of a bite out of the second corner at Degnar (T9) and picked up a 1.something penalty. There was a 5s gap to the guy behind so I carried it. I was catching the next car ahead, but just didn't have the legs to follow through. I finished :

Woot! They even got my race number right :sly:. Good way to end the week .

I go into Marquis de Sade tomorrow night with 19 SR to spend and nearly 1.2k ahead of where i was last night. 👍

Manged to improve my Suzuka time by just over .3 seconds - now down to 2.00.637 -There's still at least a second to find, somewhere between the hairpin and Spoon :boggled::boggled::boggled:

Congrats! I'm over here just trying to get into A+ lol been stuck at 45-48k for so long

I just started playing the daily races today, these are fun. Though I keep getting penalized for reasons unknown. I’ll figure it out. :)

Started to drop a lot with the DR, sort of didn't expect to do so many errors in Suzuka and my mind was sort of chill about it.
So i switched up to a Z4, chilled from last place (14th) and watched the madness unfold, placed 6th place with 0 effort:confused:

And just had a race with a RCZ constantly brake checking and illegal blocking.
"Oblivious" that brake in a straight line in the middle of the racing line (pretty much right after spoon).
And got a WRX that forced me off track before the triangle, amazing.

Had a cracker of a race in race A last night, started off in 4th but a bad start pushed me down to fifth. Got to the last corner and got a really good run, 4 wide down the straight and moved from 5th to the lead before turn 1. Then what followed was a 3 way duel to the last lap...got a run out of the first sector, go to the outside (leader goes defensive) on the run to the last corner. With nothing to lose I keep it on the outside and get a small run on him...just enough to beat him by .042 at the line all without touching

My “daily” race experience recap

Race A: Who knew 500’s would provide the best racing this week? And some W’s for myself to boot. 10 in fact.
One of the races was so crazy, I won by 1-thousandth of a second.
Anyone need a driver for a fiat 500 racecar?

Race B: Suzuka is good fun. Gr3 is also fun. Most if not all of my overtakes may have been due to drivers killing themselves, but still made for good racing. 912 may have been the leaderboard car here, and it’s really good oc, but I preferred the way the WRX Gr3 drove tbh. 4 w’s came with this one, first one v12 vantage, 2 wrx’s, then the 911

Race C: Legitimately one of the worst races ever. I want my time back. Nothing but idiot drivers being nuisances. HOW DO YOU MAKE FUJI UNFUN TO RACE ON?!

Overall, much better than last week. 2/3 races are gud.

FINALLY! A combination that has me pumped about GT Sport again.

I’m very much looking forward to a week of Gr.1 racing at La Sarthe.

Oh. So i drove after few weeks and the tyres felt different, handling was different. I thought some problem with wheel.

Loosing front easily now.

Me too Vegard. Hoping to get back to Dr C may be B :gtpflag::gtpflag:

Could you, or someone else, do me the favour and post the races here? :O
The daily race site isnt updated yet.

We have had the exact same Race A 3 times?
Yep. Wish we'd get a Race C, for a full grid of Minis in different liveries.

Well, I was a victim of the orange arrow bump drafting at The Sarthe. An LM 55 VGT kept bumping and trying to move me over when they could havl like ummm... used the other side of the road!

Tried only once Fuji, it was so bad, I exited in mid race. I expected a much worse penalty for this, but it was somewhat 4 or 6 SR, which very little IMO. Anyway, Suzuka was very good this week overall beside a few Carmageddon races, hope to have time for Nurb this week.

When do the daily races change over to new ones? Sunday nights?

Time for part two!
Why don't you choose McLaren VGT? Though it is the machine which became stable most and stands big output. Now we declare "McLaren VGT is a supreme!" If you approve of this declaration, to participate in this c h a l l e n g e.
Did some qualifying laps. Best one was a 3:21.898, but I know there's more to find if I can be braver through the turns. Still, it's going to be hard to get close to what I managed with the PUG longboi back in the FIA season (3:20.4xx, which had me in the top 10 stars for a while).

I'm still going to race the McLaren just for the sake of it, though maybe not tonight. Trying to play GT Sport a bit less these days so that I don't burn myself out completely.

Also tried the RS01 GT3. Surprsed me. Nice car, with awesome turn in and braking.

Daily Race C is easily doable with no stop, at least it's how i did with the 908 HDi although the R18 is hard to pass up or any LMP1. The acceleration demolishes my car.

And posting the races we go
Daily A
One Make with Mini-Cooper 'S' '65 Suzuka Circuit East Course

Daily B
Gr.3 Nurburgring GP
4 Laps

Daily C
