Penalty is from going wide there. And yes, it does come out about 3 metres before the finish line.

A bit torn on this race. It is the only that seems ok to me this week, but there is a lot of punting there. First few laps are all looking at the mirror trying to avoid MrRamboiRammerstain from throwing me out. Can have a fun race, but still have not had a race where I have not been hit behind. TT is OP, Cayman can be fun as it stops on a nickle.
So you have the experience with the Rammer too.. what a bad ars. Thanks for sharing. Can’t these mosquitos be banned?

I got a few second places today on N24 from the back, helped by the difficulty of maintaining 99 SR which is quite the challenge on that track. I'm currently at 94, only gained 1 point in the last race where a car behind me lost control and took me out. Not really his fault, stuff happens and some pixels of grass are programmed to instantly spin any car that touches it. The problem is, that since the crashing car went off the road before crashing me off road, I end up with a 5 sec penalty.

That stuff happens often enough to make it a continuous battle back to 99. One car that spins out in front of you which you can't avoid and any hope of gaining SR for that race is gone. 2 such incidents or a couple impatient people that tap your bumper a couple times and it's a red rating. Which will drastically alter matchmaking once you drop below 90 SR.

It's not that people drive bad at max SR, it's the penalty system that makes things bad. And the actual ...holes know how to get away with it or simply don't care.

Yet don't lose hope. While racing through the backfield I encounter most drivers in each race, some twice with me or them doing a no stop. And by far the majority are racing really well and I've seen plenty people wait to give back the position after making a mistake. It would be wonderful if the penalty system recognizes this behavior and negates any penalties and SR deductions from such a collision. (Of course the game would just get confused when what it considers the victim, waits to let the supposed aggressor pass)

I'm kinda worried about penalty zones coming to sport mode. The one thing you can do last second to avoid a collision, which is leave the track, often leads to a shortcut or wall penalty despite losing time. Slowing you down for that only makes it even more logical to simply crash people out of the way and hope the penalty system gets it wrong instead of taking a voluntary penalty.

Anyway, lots of fun close racing in N24. One eye on the road ahead, other eye on the car bouncing around right in front, third eye on the mirror to keep track of what the car bouncing behind might try to do, fourth eye on the radar in corners when we all bunch up. Glasses required, 2 eyes are not enough.
Are those extra eyes for sale. Mileage? Cheers :)

It’s been a decent night so far, 2 Dubs and I beat my time by 2 tenths, then a dirty, dirty race where I finished 5 and undid all the good the first two races had done. Oh well, still a net positive. :D

Consistently good laps there mate. Super Good!

Any lenscrafters will sell you a pair of extra eyes ;)

However 4 eyes aren't always better than 2...

I've been making some different crash compilations in my absence from GT Sport.

I've never fallen out of my car in GT Sport, that's a bonus!

Meanwhile I'm dropping further down in starting position, more people are qualifying yay! Starting 14th next, out of 16. Still so many disconnects.

HAHAHA. I still have to restart my PS4 after three races, keeping me from being disconnected.

TYVM Sir, it’s been a good night in the TT. I just shaved another tenth to 1:36.687. Man I absolutely love this track, it’s so much fun to drive. :)

I did too, but last two days too hurtful with my 1:37;4..... no more for me this week. Too many dive bombers there..sad. Planning on joining lobbies from now on. Penalty system is soooooo far off. I’m happy for you mate! Cheers

I haven't had the "throw back to race select screen" since I got back. I have been racing for hours now without restarting. I did have a regular disconnect in the afternoon though, the first race I tried. I used to get the abort back to race select screen while loading the 2nd or 3rd race, I guess that has finally been fixed! I still see people leaving the room as soon as entering :/

Last race was awesome, 3rd person racing, as in behind 2 other cars, anticipating both their moves not to run into the chaser when he aborts a pass attempt, then add another car behind, fun! Unfortunately the chaser spun out and while I avoided him he must have tapped my rear bumper while spinning back on the track. Penalty for me and a red rating lol. One more race to set SR back on 99 (always one more race)

I tried the Megane on the Daily B tonight to mix it up. The power on the straights is super fun, and it's just good enough to keep pace and defend the corners.

Check out this start line launch. I gain a position before turn 1.

The car I used to win my first Sport mode race in the full game! :)
I reckon I should give this car a shot along with the McLaren.

Don’t think I’ve seen this issue raised...but just had 2 races on B this morning and both times there was a glitch, where the person in 1st (I think) was showing as 12th, and I was 5th but showing 4th. I got bunted off both races on the first lap so kinda wasn’t able to watch what happened but I know the Blue flags were showing, I think for at least the first lap, so not sure if positions changed after the 1st lap. Will have another go later and see if still there. Anyone else seen this? Not seen it before today.

Yeah, I saw this once in race C yesterday.

The McLaren is not much use at all, one of the worst Gr4 cars. It feels good to drive and all but it just doesn't deliver fast lap times.:(

The Megane on the other hand is a nuisance and a punters dream. Very fast on the straights, decent enough brakes for when there isn't another car to help them stop and good enough through the corners to make overtaking it through them almost impossible unless it's driver over defends or drives off the track.

I'm on a clean streak. No Qualy. Interesting to watch people at the back. No pressure from me, but I'm there though.
Mixed bag of cars each race. I used Mustang, TT, Scirocco and the Megane Gr.4. The race now, has 7/15 Huracans. Should be fun.

Race B. Got my first race win of the week last night in the Audi TT. Pole to flag win. I set a qualy time that I am fairly happy with (1.37.5) in the Hurican, but for whatever reason I cannot string more than two decent laps together in that car, so it's the Audi in the race for now, which seems very easy to drive, but not quite as quick.

Also had a third. The 2nd placed Megan breezed past me on the way into turn 2 on the first lap, and then I ran wide trying to repass him so dropped to third. Nice clean race though, 5 of us at the front lapping within a few tenths of each other.

I probably need to forget about times and just concentrate on practicing 10 cleans laps or so back to back in the Hurican to really get the hang of it, and then start to worry about improving the qualy time.

Far out, how frustrating is race B this week? I’ve had a clean SR (99) for the last few months and after two races last night lose 35 points. I was about to lose my ****. Seems I’m not the only one having ‘issues’ based off many other posts in the last few days. I’ll just say that there are some very average drivers out there

Yeah I saw this in a Race B. Basically it was showing 1st as 15th and then 2nd as being 1st and so on. At first I wasn't sure if the person who qualified 15th had just been put to the front of the grid a lap down or the numbering was wrong! Anyway about half way around lap 2 it sorted itself out and everyone was given the correct positions. It was confusing for a while though!

To be fair the racing I've seen has for the most part been hard but fair. I think the only issue is that being 5 short laps, group 4 cars and only really two overtaking points (turns 2 and 3) makes people a little more aggressive at trying to overtake.

Passing someone is a challenge so people stick their noses in when perhaps they shouldn't, so you just need to be hyper aware of that. I had one race where a group of 6(!) cars were really tightly packed going into the left, left, right section in the in-field. I would normally back out of a situation like that but kept my foot in trying to hang it around the outside and pick up a few positions. I got a slight nudge (likely unintentional) that stuck me in the gravel that has a treacle like consistency at Red Bull Ring.

My strategy tends to be to give everyone a tonne of space for the first 2 laps, that usually means picking up a few positions where people make mistakes, and are bumping into each other. Then I hot lap to the end trying to overtake where I can do it cleanly.

I'm enjoying the track and car combo but it is a race where small mistakes can mean losing several positions. I've had a few podiums but a win has been elusive so far.

Really struggling at Race B... seems to be penalty heaven!

Down to SR B :(

Also, my lap time of 1:37:400 I cannot seem to break! I have an opt of 1:36:300 which is quite embarrasing, I'm a whole second away from my opt time :(

I've seen it before and it also happened yesterday on race C. Pole position was showing as 18th (last) and the blue flags were out for the entire first lap. It actually showed pole as sitting in the pit at the start. It fixed itself when lap 2 started.

I also had lobbies again where the drivers weren't sorted correctly on entry. I was shown as starting 8th (without a qualifying time) while there were 8 more people that had qualified. That fixed itself after warm-up.

And I also had the start bug again where the whole backfield bunched up at the final corner to explode in a mess of cars once the timer was up. GT Sport keeps the races exciting!

Another day, another Bull run. Qualified with the NSX and managed to beat my Viper time... by 4/1000 s . That put me in P3/14 on a mixed grid of DR/D and C. 1s separated P1 from P2, then the next few places separated by 100ths .

Auto drive lets go and I'm hanging with the two in front. The guy behind pokes his nose in for T1 but can't make it stick. I was in P2 for a while and there was a lot of side by side action, but everyone was managing to keep it clean. I had the inside, but was so slow trying to avoid the natural inclination to go to the outside on the exit that the other driver had a better exit and back to P3 for me. I did bump him on the exit to T1 and hung back while he stabilised the car. For some reason the last two laps I seem to loose grip on Rauch and Wurth. This happened last night too, and that's when the guy in front gets away :nervous:. I'd picked up what equates to 4s (3.something) penalties, which I just couln't seem to scrub off. I pulled over to the right on the final strait but just couldn't get rid of it in time to keep P3, so P4 for me. At least I didn't get punted off the track or end up in the kitty litter!

SR dropped by 3 for that contact with P2, DR up by about 600. So far Race B has been kind to me... I'm guessing I'll face my punishment in Race C .

YES SIR, it is!

I've found I got penalty for going too wide in T1, but I'm then able to scrub the penalty in the braking zone of t2? lol

Yep noticed this myself today, so stupid. :ouch:

Anyway I might have given up with qualifying now it's just frustrating. I improved to a 1:35.800 but the optimum is apparently a 1:35.4xx, not that I'll ever get that but I thought I'd get with 2-3 tenths but it's not happening. :dopey:

Still running -2 BB for the whole lap too in the Lambo.:gtpflag:

I'm going to cream on Race C. I love the 24h Nordschleife. My first races were a bit unlucky because of some very very stupid mistakes but I start to get the hang of it. It was my first time playing the daily races in a long time so perhaps I was just a bit nervous. The longer I played the more consistent I was.

A week ago i was complaining hiow S SR lobbies and in a few days I've been reset to a SR of 1 (E) and DR dropped from 27,000 to 3,000.

RBR is brutal, conducive to a surprising amount of contact.

Ring a ring a rosie, another go at the Nurb. I tried and failed to beat my M3 time with the Viper, but I wanted to try a no stop strategy, and in the past the Viper has always been pretty good on fuel. This was a mistake of apocalyptic proportions :banghead:. I started P4/18 on a mixed grid of DR/B and D. The plan was to use Fuel Map 3 for the more technical sections, and fuel map 1 with short shifting for the more flowing parts. Yeh, no :yuck:.

Race starts and I'm trying to get the fuel map screen up and end up with traction control and the cars in front slow down way too much for T1. While I'm trying not to hit them, a lambo who thinks he's Colin McRae gets sideways and slams into me, spinning me out. If I was just focused on the race I may have avoided this . So from P4 to P15. Faffing around with fuel mapping had me crashing my way round the track bouncing off the walls. I think I also changed traction control and brake balance in the process. I pitted P13 with 0.8 laps left in the tank.

I probably could have afforded to keep the boots on and just splash and go, but I didn't. Came back in P14. Once I managed to get fuel map set to 1 I just went about my usual race for the second lap. The car felt funny because of the accidental set up changes, so it was a bit of a struggle, but I finished P11 :odd:. Tomorrow night if I'm up for it, I'll give the Viper another go, this time running my normal race. I don't have the co-ordination to bounce between fuel mapping screens, changing fuel mapping, changing to radar screen *and* drive. Kinda wish I could instruct someone in the pits to change my fuel map on the fly :p.

SR went up to 99, DR dropped 70, so the damage wasn't too bad. Another day above DR 1 :dopey:.

I’m almost wondering now if they tinkered with the SR system on the last update, it was always easy to lose it but it seems even easier now to lose it and it’s harder to gain it back, two clean races got you from 80 to 99 a couple weeks ago but last night 2 clean races in a row gained me 3 whole SR points. I think they changed the system somehow.

You probably missed the tyre model change, which has made a big differnce to the handling.

Ended up in the same race B as @Philtaylor17 today. That's the first time I've recognised anyone from here :)

That's not to say I really saw you, what with you doing lights to flag victories while I was scrapping in the mid-pack. I felt fast enough to hold on to the lead group but kept overdriving the car and picking up silly penalties for track limit infringements. They were fast lobbies though that I didn't feel quite ready for!

I never had the problem with my DR/SR dropping too hard. Just make sure to get a good quali lap and try to avoid first corner carnages. Best would be to get a clean start/finish win. Also the higher your SR/DR the less likely it is to get killed.
