Not going to get the chance to race this week, work and stuff but I’ve never driven rbr and thought I would do a couple of laps in different cars. So first laps, in first time cars.. Rcz pug 142.xx, jag 140.xx, can’t remember my last car but was low 139’s opt was low 138’s. Only 1 lap with each car.
Not sure I like the track but I don’t think 136 is out of my reach. I might hot lap it the weekend just to see.
Was having difficulty figuring out the corners just being new to the track and the turn 1 overrun in 3 laps I came no where near to optimising.

No point to this just my experience of rbr

yes, I agree with most
but n ... ring,I love and drive every day
and it's stupid punishment, when others hit you, and you are the third one. And then you throw it out
very depressing
although in today's competition, a different relationship
But it's sad to punish me by letting out and dropping others, because I just want to race and dodge it
tomorrow I will put the video to see why they took me out
and videos how unfortunately you have to drive because the system is unjust

Wow! Glad I haven't given race B a shot this week . Is this how the majority of the races have been this week on RBR :scared:?
apart from that one moment all my races have been fine. got a good laugh out of it.

If you've been mainly racing at the RBR then remember the track limits. I don't think you can't get a clean race bonus running the off the track lines in T1 even with no penalties and zero contact, I have not had one yet and I've had a few unchallenged penalty free races from pole, so I'd imagine this will affect the SR system too. ;)

I’d say you are correct Sir. I meant clean races by my standards, not the games haha. I didn’t make contact with any other cars the entire race, that’s a clean race in my books, I got the .5s penalty on T1 on most laps though. So that’s probably why I’m not gaining SR, I’m getting a penalty on nearly every lap. :)

I only did Race A today since I got some consistent and quicker Qualification laps („quicker“ in relation to my abilities). I was clean, the others weren‘t.

So to make a long story short: Nothing to see here, move along!

Edit: I can finally edit my posts so Pigems won‘t come after me anymore! (Y)

"You can't win a race at the first corner..."
...But you can do 99% of the work, I didn't expect this to work as well as it did!

Hehe, well done. Of course if you were in any of my races, you would never have made it to that second corner because someone would have slammed you off the track and into the wall .

Damn. I thought the "throw back to race select screen" bug had been fixed. I just got it again :(

Oh well, I've raced enough today. Plenty great close races and even a win!
IPZc.jpg

It was after I got bashed around a bit in the max SR.S room, easier room starting me 10th without qualifying. Still 17:10 total time is one of my best runs yet. @NosOsH was in that race as well. I only got to follow him for a little bit until he misjudged a corner. Good recovery later on! I'll race you longer next time.

I don't get the time penalties - I have done on the 'ring I guess 8 qualifying laps now ( not all finished due to the races ) and I don't get time penalties. But in the race I am picking them up in the first section of the Nordschleife - the game doesn't penalise for having a wheel on a red and white striped curb in qualifying - but it does in the race itself. Weird. a

Is it possible to run soft tyres in the 911 in race C? The hards may not be all that much slower though but I haven't tried the softs except in my first race and that time they lost grip. I am thinking that if I ran with reduced fuel levels on softs I might save the tyres and gain some pitstop time.

I have been running medium ... I am worried about the softs loosing grip. In other races I have run whole races on hards and the 911 handled well right to the end if a little slower. The tyres were fine but I haven't enough fuel to run hards (or Mediums) to try that. I was going up the famous long straight

its a bummer you cannot test the tyre wear in qualifying - why the heck not ???

I have attained two more wins in the people’s car of race a. Improved qualifying time to 1:39:296, which puts me 11th in the American region.
I took everybody’s lunch money on both occasions, for a total of sevens wins in this event.
I’m practicing Race C, because Nürburgring is easily one of my favourite circuits. I have to do it justice! Ironically, I think the GP portion of the track is the one that gives me the most trouble and time lost.
Oh, and Red Bull Ring sucks, so I don’t think I’ll do daily B. It’s just the same corner over and over again with a straight inbetween. Not for me, Tilke!

Capture.PNG Looks like I'm in for a series of easy wins in Race B.
After some messed up races (mid-pack) a spanish mosquito managed to drop me down to SR=E and my DR got reset to D (7000pts?)
Thx Polyphony, I really needed the ego boost!!!

Totally makes sense! Maybe my identity has changed today and I have to be treated as a new driver...

That would be DR/C. DR/D goes up to C at 4000 pts, but it does look like you got dumped down to D in the past. If you made it to DR/A before, getting back the points is the easy part. Getting back SR is a whole other story .

No problem with the SR. Last time, it was back at 99 after one day of clean Suzuka. (Just start on pole, so no one can reach you)
DR was indeed down to D.
I had two wins before posting this, so it was already back up to ~8500.
Maximum seems to be around +1000 if you really crush a race. So I need about 30-40 wins. Looking forward to that

It makes you wonder what the point to it is. Last reset I had I think I then had a run of 11 or 12 poles and wins and incidentally it remains my longest clean streak.

You don't lose 1 second by not running wide, it's a lot but nowhere near that much. ... The fastest I've ever got to the first split is a 23.9. ...

So what's your rough guess, difference between using the full run-off ( like you do ) and keeping two wheels on the track ( like I do ) ? 2 or 3 tenths ?

Btw would be great if you could post your ( average ) splits. I'm a fair bit behind you and interested in where I lose time :).

Mustang goes well as always. That off-throttle tuck in, makes cornering too easy. I can get back the throttle before the apexes. At the eases, short shift up to 4th and use that torque. Beautiful.

I also struggle in finding some more tenths on rbr. 1:37,3 is max I can do. Watched the stream of TheKie25 and he easily is a second faster (while eating ) and his line didn't differ from mine. One thing I noticed though is he brakes super late but always hits the apex. Braking where he does makes me go super wide. So he seems to decelerate more then I do. What's the trick?

Maybe trail breaking...
This might help

From the videos I see, the fast guys break late for the split of a second in a straight line (hit the brakes to the max for one tiny bit of a sec) and let go and dive in to the curve with the speed. Takes a lot of practicing.
I use the TT and slide through each and every corner with ease. My quali is around 1.37.500 and it's good enough for me. Even if I start 5th, somehow somewhere there is a carambolage and if I manage to get through, podium is always there in the end. Just takes patience.
Or you start first and finish first.

More than that, maybe 4 or 5 tenths, well for me who's out of practice at staying on the track.

24.05 or so first split, 42.8 or so second and last about 29.15. 23.9,42.6 and 28.9 is possible though and I've done them all but not on the same lap. If I ever got it right I'd say a 24.0, 42.7 and 29.0 is likely to be my limit really maybe half a tenth more.

That's what I tried to. The former works quite well, the latter, well, on rbr mainly seems to depend on your opponents T1 braking skills...
T1 is important but if you mess up on T1, you'll get a max of 0.5-1 sec penalty and it goes down somehow during the race by itself. Even if it doesn't, you can concentrate on your line easily and make a bigger gap than 1 sec during the 5 laps. T2 is important too in the first lap. I've experienced many missiles coming in hot on this turn as well :)

Where exactly are you getting time penalties? I've only managed to pick up some small penalties in the NGP section of the track in the two fast chicanes. Going 2 wide through those is tricky.

At least in the '17 Lexus softs work fine for a lap. They still have better grip than hards on a no stop run, yet they do have a less grip in the last third of the track. Since pretty much everyone runs softs now it doesn't really matter.

I haven't tried the 911 yet. I like the fuel economy of the Lexus. I run AT and still have 41 to 43% left at the pit. Once I passed 3 cars in the pit, much better than always losing a position when I use the Corvette. Corvettes go faster on the straight though. I had the faster corner exit, drafted up and passed the Corvette only for him to outrun me again without drafting.

I don't know about the 911 but the GR Supra works perfectly fine with the Softs. If you want to win you have to use the soft compound or your opponents will do circles around you. Being fast while shredding your tires is useless so you have to aim for smoothness to avoid any wheelspin and oversteer at all.

*bouncehopspin!!!!!* *sings*"weeeeeee are the champions my friend......" My race today at RBR was nutz. I tried a few cars in qualy and just couldn't seem to gel. Then I gave the heavy chevy a go. I've been having an internal battle between Chevrolet and Dodge ever since I bought the game, and the Viper has always won out. I managed to beat my qualifying time with the plastic fantastic. Sadly, even though it showed it as the fastest lap in purple, it didn't record it as faster than previous qualy because of a penalty, even though it had been gone by the time I crossed.

By some bizarre miracle I started on pole. I was prepared to take a time penalty for T1 just to avoid getting knocked off. That didn't happen, neither did the penalty. This was the result:

Red_BUll_Ring-301118.jpg

No penalties, but I drifted wide on one corner so no clean race bonus to complete the trifecta :p. Even more bizarre than me getting pole was finishing with a 7s lead. Every lap the gap seemed to get wider, and all I could mutter was "stay outta the sand, stay outta the sand...".Going by the door number, the game wasn't quite as optimistic about my chances :p.

SR still 99 (no one to hit :lol:), DR up 1.1k . Too tweeked to face N24, so... another day above DR 1 :D.

I must just be on a big positivity buzz...that or you lot are just depressing each other...but I've not experienced the whole frustration with run offs, track limit abuse and penalties in Daily B this week. For the most part cars around me have been going into single file on T1 (yes I'm just as shocked) first time round and run offs are caused more because someone tries to cut up the inside and forces a driver off rather than an intentional abuse to gain time. I did have one numpty in a Mustang hit me 3 times in the rear before we even made T2. I let him by on T3 and figured he'd do the same to the car in front of me. By the end of the first lap he and the poor unfortunate ahead of me were in the sand and I was up places again. Part of my change in race attitude is to let aggressive and dangerous drivers by. Generally they end up off track anyway and they don't do me any harm when they are in front of me. My only problem is the venture into 13,000 DR Points and being a low end DR B getting DR S opponents. I've gone from races where quali times are 1:37 to 1:38 for the field and me in 5th to 9th so all you have to do is stay on the track and you'll pick up 3 or 4 places and now find myself in last spot with SR S drivers setting 1:35 times.

3rd place driver rammed off 1st place driver (I’m in 2nd) on the 2nd corner @ A1 ring and I get an orange SR rating plus 1 second penalty. Huh ?

Penalty for not intervening and sacrificing your position for the guy in p1. Only that is real sportsmanship
