I think the best strategy is soft/soft with some fuel saving, any other thinking or experience?
I've been doing no stops on hards, and the tyres are very unhappy by the end. I wouldn't trust myself with softs

Come on in race B. The water is fine. I went with a couple qual laps waiting for matching and hit a .34 flat. It’s not enough to get up the grid for bs. Gotta hit a low 33. Started 10 in race 1, lap 2 people were battling and I got up to 6 from all their battling and then they wiped out in front of me. I braked, avoided barely but got rear ended by the fellas behind me and punted in the fast left maybe turn 3? I had the two car streaking sideways across the track in front of me.
No orange down arrow just stuck in dfl. I recovered by the end to my start position so I must say it was still a good race. Second race I started 10 and finished 6. The heartbeat of America was beating strong as I outdid the Found On Road Dead And Viper chasing. It was quite exhilarating running tight with some good drivers.
Not bad. I picked up a hundred dr for my efforts ad stayed sr 99. Race 2 got a clean bonus!
I ran a couple times equal to my qual in race. I run faster when chasing. I really enjoy that track. What I profit from is battles. People get stuck in battle mode and don’t want to give an inch which can be a huge mistake. I’m right behind ya runnin the race line and I love to see battles. IMO some of these younger guys should think ahead instead of running 2 wide battling for 7th you know? Seriously sometimes it’s faster to allow an overtake and run the race line instead of getting out of shape all over.
I’m not what I would call fast, just consistent in gr3. It pays dividends. I may work a bit on the qual time, but tbh I just enjoy racing people in a fair fashion.
Really nice runs tonight. I’ve truly found after being 99sr for quite a while now that it seems like the people I race are pretty clean/concerned to avoid contact.
Stay thirsty my friends.
ABS gitch? Oh, do tell lol.
Practised Interlagos for 2hrs last night and found .8s resulting in a quali time of 1:32,9. Now I start 2nd or 3rd among DR Bs and there the race is much cleaner. So after my troubles on Monday I am back at SR S. Unfortunately getting up at 5am and driving at 11pm my concentration during the races is, well, let's call it inconsistent. I got penalties in all races for leaving the track after the double right in the infield making me lose one position each time. At least I didn't ram anybody off the track and gained about 2000 DR points. You sound like you are doing exactly the same as myself. I'm only recently a DR B driver but holding steady at 12 to 14,000 points. Quali in Daily B is just over .34 for me (Interlagos Gr3 with Vantage, Atenza & Mustang all doing about same times) which gets you the bottom half of a DR B grid. I generally end up 4 to 5 places better by the end purely by being consistent, letting others battle and watch them fall off the track. Often I don't make single real "overtake" as such. Most important for me is not to get involved in any rubbish on lap 1. Don't dive bomb on turn 1 and make sure you take a clean but defensive line. You are right, generally DR B / SR S will respect that and single file in such cases rather than pushing into spaces that don't exist. Only problem last night was that I got a very heavy punt in two races in a row, pushing me miles off track and giving me a virtual nose bleed. I don't think either hit was intentional, I braked early to avoid a slide in front and the car behind rear ended me. Ended up last in two races and dropped 2K DR points. I don't think low end DR B drivers are generally faster than good DR D and C. Four weeks ago we were at Interlagos and I was only DR D but the races were just as fast and in a lot of cases they were cleaner. I think DR B races are just more consistent rather than outright faster.

Grids/matchmaking isn't good; feel real sorry for the DR-D/C guys that get matched with much higher ranked drivers.
People will drive a lot cleaner with severe damage settings. Easy as 1,2,3.
Racing is a small part of my spare time in the evening. I see no reason to finish such an activity being angry and frustrated instead of calm and relaxed (it used to be lile that until they made the penalties FUBAR).
I have a question for you all. I apologize if this isn't the place, but since I race mosty daily B races... I'm wondering where you set traction control in a GR3 car. I've been running at 2. My best lap this week is a 1:33.8xx and I have a handful more laps in the 33's with consistant mid to low 34's with a clear track. Do most of you set and forget, or are you playing with TC during a race. I'm thinking of running some laps with 0 TC to work on throttle control...
Oh, and he was definitely a Brazilian with a US account. I'm sure of it.

0 for me, will only ever use TC to launch off a standing start.
Yes and no CSA or ASM either. Not sure why they are still allowed in the "dailies" when they are banned in the FIA stuff. Plus once you learn how to drive without CSA, as I had to do, it's better.
Ugh matchmaking. I woke up at 4am from pain (back still bad) couldn't get back to sleep to I entered the 5am race to distract my mind. It's a dangerous time. While during prime time the separation didn't change all that much, (mostly DR.A to DR.B all still SR.S) at this time of night it's a mess.

I got rammed by the SR.C's no surpise. 3 times punted off the road and more contacts. They had red ratings at the end of course, yet dragged my SR down as well by 8 points. I feel for those now stuck in the tiny regions. At least when everyone is SR.S you still have a chance at a clean race.
The next race only had 11 people, yet luckily limited to SR.A - SR.S range. There were still 3 troublemakers in the 11, one who dropped to SR.B, however I managed to gain 5 SR despite getting hit. One more then.
Racing in prime time without South America was slightly better. The skill gap was a bit bigger yet in the 3 races I did (from 8pm) there were no huge explosions in the first chicane and much fewer red ratings at the end. Less lag helps a lot in GR.1. I still seems to be one of the few that bothers to drive without a penalty. Why would you really, penalties disappear so easily on that track in GR.1. Penalty zones will change that completely.
Well rip me. 8 SR.B in the next race, SR.C and some SR.A's, 16 entries. Only 4 SR.S.
That went surprisingly well, thanks to my worst overtake ever. I have no clue how I got away with this and it was merely the result of mistaking the 150 marker for the 200 marker, braking 50 meters later than I wanted to. How to dive bomb 3 cars at once
There was also the classic corner helper

Thanks for the push!
I finished 3rd in that one, got briefly in second yet couldn't hold on to it. One driver dropped to SR.E after the race. I went to SR 99 thanks to that beautiful dive bomb, hmm :/ A least it got me out of reach of the SR.E driver (and SR.B's)
The race after that, only 9 people. I'm the only DR.A in the room. The person in first thinks it's faster to cut the chicane every lap, it's not.

I did one more race at 7:30 before getting the kids to school which showed this server separation is pointless when the game still allows cross region accounts. Not that that's always bad yet this race had two 1 bar connections, one of which I had the pleasure to get stuck behind. He was lagging all around and when I was passing him on the straight his car behaved as if I wasn't there and rammed me off, giving me a penalty... What's the point in removing the South Americans with decent connections (never had much of an issue with most yellow connections) while allowing bad 1 bar connections to stay. Only 3 SR lost luckily.
(The game doesn't always report it right though. I've seen 1 bar connections with only 35ms ping time driving like a green connection. This one had actual major lag and reported as 160ms ping)
I voiced my opinion here, about a week ago, saying that I would prefer to race with the South Americans.Sure, incredibly relevant this informartion. But now you are gonna race just with US players, your problems are solved...![]()
Thank you @6BK! Looking at how long it took until I dialed that in it is far beyond my imagination how the top guys shave another 2.8s though...Sub 1.33 is very tasty, well done @El_Tim. I've done a good few laps of Interlagos but still can't beat the 1.34(.02...damn I was close) but I'm also half afraid to do it. Sometimes I get a lucky lap and knock 1 or .5 secs off but can't repeat it. Then I end up in a race where I'm out gunned and look like a mobile road block.

In quali always TC 0 but in races I don't dare as I don't want to spin in the heat of a battle. So there I use TC 2. Be sure to set that in the car menu and switch it off in the car. Otherwise you might start with TC off while you think it was on. Not that it happened to me, but...I have a question for you all. Tried my best to get into 1:30s with R8 LMS, but my first sector is always .1 or .2. Also losing 3 tenths in middle sector somewhere and I just can't find it. I think the top 3 have adjusted their brake balance through each corner
