I hate the Tokyo "circuits"

Yes even at S/S the first turn is a punting spot at this version of it and pushing others into the barriers is rife at every version. With the slipstream you can't even drive away from the ones doing it that easily either.

Daily Races

A) Willow Springs Horse Thief Mile -- One Make (Suzuki Swift)
B) Alsace -- One Make (Lancer Gr.B Road Car)
C) Tokyo East Outer Loop -- Gr.4 endurance

Yeah mad max thunderdome race

No, some of them are basically a joke. The thing is all the rammers and lower ranked players probably like them, especially the tracks, the Ovals, Tokyo, etc and play them to death because they have a shot at winning and then PD see they are popular and start doing even more of them.

Friday seems to be a bad day for races, for weeks now they have been mostly awful choices. Even weekend hasn't been much better lately though. :(

My experiences on the Tokyo tracks have not been worse than on other circuits, there are always some good and clean overtaking opportunities - actually there are quite a bit more opportunities to overtake on the straight out of the curves (especially as the idiots tend to crash into the walls) than on other tracks. At least I like that more, overtaking when braking into a slower turn is not exactly my cup of tea as you always run a high risk of touching your opponent one or another way.

I think the problem is the lack of run off, for me... you have to be so precise to avoid hitting inside or outside walls on every corner. And for me, that means to sacrifice speed.

took a breathe and decided to take the plunge at race C, all sr S drivers, so what could hapen?

A lot... carnage... the room was filled with s/s a/s b/s and c/s drivers and I qualified 13 th or so 1:13..... in the BMW (nope, couldn't go faster, gap to pole was just 4/5 seconds). First corner and KABOOM.. braked earlier because you could clearly see it was going to be messy.. Meh.. avoided the scrapheap of cars and was 8th, in fact a clean lap all green! Second and third lap got smacked in the trunk by an italian who thought it would be cool to spin me in the lefthander before the last corner.

Meh... Back to 14th or so, made it back to a pack of 4 cars (including the italian guy in the megane) Awaited the oppertunity, and got past the first 2, last corner, Italian made a mistake 2 corners before, so gave me a clear shot in out breaking him into the last corner, offcourse he turned in giving me orange sr (again). Outran him on the straight and after finish he was rewarded with a massive time penalty and I got a nice red sr. :grumpy:

The pole sitter (german driver melman) was only seen in the shot of the start, easy drive for him.

Race B was good ! clean and fair again same mix of drivers, got the sr back to nutrual thank goodness.
So, thats it for today, never again tokyo...

They don't seem to be getting any better - B is the only option for me today !!
Tried race B and lucky enough to got a win.

A lot of the time its luck i just tried race C Tokyo with C/C drivers, managed to quali 1st after just one run, went on to win with no contact from any other driver. Probably mostly luck tho, my SR took a big hit trying the Alsace race was getting bumped a lot.
Just a quick edit, tried Alsace again got bumped twice but still went from SR C up to B.

Hi!
I think we're all here because we like the game some way or another and hope for it to become even better. Personnally I love it and think PD needs a bit of time to fine tune the algorithm for matchmaking, BoP etc. I believe this is the first attempt at that level ("MMO" racing) so the more we race the better it'll get!
Also, maybe a way to increase player count would be global daily races? With current technology there's probably more lag due to slow individual connections than global distance. It would help at least during weekends, and I'd love to race with drivers from around the world. Maybe in the future?

Happy Friday and see you online!

Maybe see you online indeed, we have similar ratings. Will be sure to fly the :gtpflag: if I see you :)

Race c is a perfect Ricky Bobby set up the problem is finding a kale nawton jr that will shake and bake with you... So far only a few know how to properly run faster doing this and being patient through the turns to set up draft + fuel management with someone running similar lap times, when it happens it's alot of fun but it's rare so far

Yes, we have 👍 you started one behind me on Dragon Trail on Tuesday evening and you came 2nd in the end I think? It looked close though as I noticed P1 and 2 kept switching on the final lap.

Oh dear, I think I remember giving you a little tap into t1 then =/ felt pretty bad about it at the time, is that right?

Hope we meet again, as that's not typical of my driving. I'm still struggling to get a good feel for braking in this game, the M4 in particular seems to feel very vague.

I've got a share button clip of one of those Gr.1 Monza races with 2 of the Top 10 stars, I may upload it in an attempt to redeem myself a little :)
Strangely I can drive the gr.1 cars a lot more consistently than the lower categories :S

Ha...! maybe - I was in a blue Huracan. I definitely got bumped at some point as I was in 13th by the S section.

To be honest, I had an absolutely terrible race anyway! I got so nervous at being a B starting among all you As that I couldn't keep focus. You would think that an hour of qualifying and setting what I thought was a good time, would mean I would be able to keep calm ffs. I said elsewhere, but I kept lifting off for the chicane too early, or turning in at the wrong time and clipping the inside or hitting the outside. I even pressed the PS button 3 times over the two races I did. Utter disaster .

did you win or come 2nd in the end?

TBh that may explain the tap then, you being a little nervous into t1 and me coming into the race with a string of P2s looking for the win; very difficult to compensate for a slightly slower car when you're already committed on the brakes - I'm still sorry though :)

I think I did end up 2ND, the Vantages were able to drive straight past on the short straight after the chicane before the last corner, but I think that was the race I was forced defensive into the last corner and the German was able to take a sweeping line and just clinch it on the exit (with a little grass).

Close one though.

Maybe the chicane woes you were having were tyre wear related?
I saw a lot of people coming unstuck trying to take their qualifying lines/speed through there several laps into a stint...

Yeah I made a complete cock of it basically, thinking about it again I'm pretty sure I went a bit early on the brakes, then got tap and ended up in the sand.

I thought I saw it flick back and forth a couple of times in the final few moments... unlucky to just miss out

In fact, the opposite - I considered tyre wear too much! It was firstly on on lap 1... I went through the first part and then I suddenly thought "****, what about tyres and fuel load" and then braked. After that my head was just gone.

In fairness, I never should have been matched with you... I'm a steady 22-25000 DR and started in 6th among with one S and 4 As ahead, and 3 As behind. It should have put me in pole with a grid of Bs

Agree... Gr. 1 should just make a guest appearance a couple of times per week.
No, it should appear every day along with Gr3 and 4.

I've said this on a few different threads now so apologies to those who have seen this argument before.

The daily race schedule needs to be extended from three races to five. Three of the spots could be dedicated for Gr1/3/4, leaving two slots everyday for Nx00, and one-make races. Everyone wins.

I want a "super like" button for such posts!

...and not to forget Alsace. This will be a perfect start in the Weekend. Looks like it’s Christmas and Birthday for me at once :D

With 5 hairpins on Horse Thief giving the person behind you 5 perfect punting opportunities I have the feeling it will be more like "Krampus" day if you have someone behind you like our "special friend" :boggled:

Aww no Gr.1 today. Gr.4 on Tokyo, I hope I don't fall asleep behind the wheel!

I tried the daily A once yesterday and it seemed I wasn't even moving! It was a pretty dirty race as well although the general speed was so low the penalty system hardly did anything. Yet blocking and pushing off the road was the norm until the field finally spread out enough. That was just after I got back to max SR. I prefer the obvious rammers (you can avoid) over the dirty pushers in SR.S

Sacrifice speed? Nooooo! You gain plenty of speed after someone has rear ended you....into the wall!

So far tonight I've done Horse Thief. I predicted carnage, but surprisingly no. I didn't receive a single hit. The Zook has really unforgiving gearing, so that one little excursion off track killed me. Hopefully Race B will be better.

This might be a little unpopular, but i'd like to see some of the GT League races from campaign mode as dailys.
