Congrats, Awesome Lap Man!! I knew I wouldn’t last long up there. :)

I don’t particularly like any of them either, I think I’m gonna try to work on my Race B time the rest of the week. Sub 47 may be possible on Race A but I don’t think I’ll be the guy to do it, 150+ Laps today didn’t get it done.
That is still a great time you have there! And gl

Thanks, it’s nice to be able to enjoy it this time. :)

What was your Optimal when you were done? Did you get it to sub 47? The best I got mine too was .089, but the closest lap I got to my best after setting it was .192. :)

Oh well, it's not working, 2 clean races in a row now on the daily B.

A clean race at the daily B is worth +6 SR at SR.S, was +17 SR at SR.E, a 283% increase.
So the +60 SR for Suzuka at SR.E turns into +21 SR without the boost. Which is what I already got at 51 SR. Perhaps the boost only starts under 50.

I guess I can verify when my SR drops to 77. Should go from 77 to 98 with clean race bonus. This was a lot easier to figure out when @jasonguernsey's site was still active as it would report the SR gains without the 99 cap getting in the way.

.077 was it, I don't think a sub 47 is possible unless you cheat somehow...

Nice! My thoughts were similar, it would have to be a lap where you either lucked yourself into some time somehow or cheated the penalty system on a shortcut somewhere, I tried every corner from every angle I could imagine and came up with nothing. All we can do now is sit back and see how long we can hang on to our spots. :D

Congrats again on the Great Lap Man! :)

Pretty crazy how everyone on the board is battling for hundredths on race A  And we're only a day in! Those races must be ridiculously competitive...
Great job on those laps @Pigems, @suprajef !!! Going to take a shot at this later, hopefully i can find a spot to squeeze into on the leaderboard lol

Hmm after the much anticipated launch of GTS on 10.17.17, I would think PD would possess the innovative muscle to bring the fans something new and exciting? It's not a complaint so much as it is a fan's perspective on how PD could serve the devoted by reenvisioning "Daily" races?...still only 3 weekly races?

Some of us have over 100k miles clocked, legitimately, and would really welcome more variety...seriously.

I really don’t like online. But I do think daily races are fun. I do think we need more variety and some of those gr.x should really be in a diff class. Put the 330 xj13 and the gt40 in their own class. Gr.4 I honestly think I’d the best class but even then the cars look too similar to their counterparts. Look at both meganes.

I thought about the Dailies as well. So many tracks now. Also in reverse.

Glad its not just me finding the dirty crap in high ranks too. Those are guys who fleece the SR, you see them start a race up front then let everybody pass them every couple of races to get back lost Sr.

Not every fast guy does it, I have been reset before because of a dirty driver that consistently bumped me. There was nothing I could do besides avoid him and be worried he would do it again. Funny though I have seen him recently and he can't touch me at all...I will give you one guess what flag he is?

He's not Brazilian, they are the cleanest drivers I encounter online (0_0)

I got video of guys hitting anybody who comes close to them. Buddy enven flopped a corner going wide off the track and so once he gets back on he's going much slower than the aproaching crowd and he turns into the first car going to pass him. I say buddy got skillz cuz even tho he got hit from the block move he manages to stay ontrack while buddy he crashed is in the dirt

Man, I took a longer break just to come back today.

Welcome back dood! :gtpflag:

Daily B is a Lamborghini Festival - somebody should have told the bloke in the Megane. 10th to 5th:lol: I’m actually a little bit disgusted that once again after multiple tests I end up quickest in that bloody Megane.

My first race for the week was in the trophy. Slow on the straits but deadly on the corners. Not everyone drives the META, which seems to be the lambo. Aside from the NSX you won't find me driving a road roach :yuck:.

Raced my first 2 races this week. Both at Suzuka. No Q. Used the Ford GT in the first, the Atenza in the second. Both races were similar in that I started decent, pitted, then had issues with people in the second half. The GT got punted in the hairpin on lap 8 by a brazilian that thought it was a good idea to try a pass from .4 back, and brake 1 carlength from the apex. I guess my drivers door is a good berm. That put me in last place...finished in 12th, up 2 positions. The second race was similar, but I was spun in Spoon, then, due to dirty tires I imagine, I got wide and lost it coming out of R130, and again out of the chicane. Anger may have contributed to that one.:O Finished 12th, up 1 spot. I need to try some cars there. Best lap was a mid 2:04 but I know I left a lot of time in spots, especially T1. Might try A next. With a good grid, and the right competition, I could get a win. Ran a 47.4xx so my pace isn't bad, as long as @Pigems doesn't show up I may have a shot.

Nice to see someone is actually planning on racing, instead of spending the week qualifying .

I've never put in more than 5 laps qualifying for any daily race. If there was an option to practice in identical conditions as the races (also known as actual practice) then I would consider it, but trying to hit the perfect lap in grippier conditions than the race itself just doesn't seem like good preparation to me.

Did a 48.0 at Lago. Not as fun as it used to be. Should be at a different track or Lago Centre II in fog, would have been better.

@Pigems wow, that was really close to the top regional time! Great job!

In response to a post a few pages back (I’m on a trip so I can’t log on very often right now): I consider it fair game to change your line once or twice on a straight to break the slipstream and I do it myself sometimes. What’s off limits for me is constant, frantic weaving throughout the whole straight. That’s just annoying. What do others think of this?

It does always make me laugh when you see a snake of cars weaving down the straight because the first car is trying to break the slipstream.

The fact of the matter is if the car behind is in your slipstream, weaving across the track won't change that. It's probably best to pick a line and stick to it. I'm sure there's an argument that weaving will slow you down allowing the car behind to get even closer.

It only takes the lead car though. If they change their line EVERYBODY behind has to follow or be left behind.

Surely constant weaving is actually slower? There is no need for it, if the car behind has a slipstream position your car to make the entry to the next corner as tricky for the car behind as possible.

Alternatively let them past, and pick up their slip stream into the next corner

Yep, that cleared it up for me. I was unsure as to whether going from the outside to the inside and back to the outside again was referred to as one or two line changes, that’s why I said “once or twice”. @watto79 I’m pretty sure this move has merit, otherwise it wouldn’t be specifically addressed in the OLR guidelines. But you’re right in saying that it won’t change the fact that the trailing car is drafting you. I assume breaking the slipstream works for however long it takes you to change lines, as once you’re facing straight they can slipstream you again.

I was wondering about this for a while because I had been accused of “weaving” once, even though what I did is apparently defined as a single line change, which does not violate any rules.

@headdertz What’s the Verstappen rule?
