Today's Daily Races

* Monza with no chicanes seems interesting as the first proper corner will be at Variante della Roggia
True, without chicane is much more fun I found out.

Too bad that with a gr1 I am afraid you can just put a rubber band on your gas button and take it full speed.

It’s much more fun when you do it on sport tyres with road cars;)

Interesting, I hope I don't brake check anyone tomorrow when I zoom by my usual brake point for the Monza chicane.
Even more fun when the version with chicane comes back right after!

Then don't zoom by it, learn your braking points (using tyre wear) before you even consider entering an online race. It's those sort of actions that have been angering the community so much. There really is no excuse for entering a race without knowledge of the cars braking points - ever.

He‘s refering to the braking point he has when the layout with the chicane is on.

Yes I'm aware of that! My first sentence could have been a bit clearer! The post ultimatley is correct as no one should enter a race on a circuit or layout they are unfamiliar with.

Oh yeah, so not to ruin your personal pleasure, your royal highness? Please have some sense of humor, ok? ;)

Btw, is it any real? I mean is Monza w/o the first chicane layout even being used for real races?

True that but I guess it was mainly intended as a joke.

Maybe for motorbike racing? idk

Oh dear.... I was gonna get my drive on tonight but that Monza race is just asking for trouble. I think i will put some time into the others instead, shame as I like the grp1 cars.

Only entered the FIA races yesterday... did the Manufacturers first, in the Vantage Gr. 3 (I packed Aston as I wanted the Gr. 4 for Brands on Sunday) and, for an unpopular gr. 3 choice, it was surprisingly competitive. Started in 8th and finished 6th, notable ahead of 1 x S driver and 1 x A. Confidently, I moved on to the Nations event... Maggiore West in the Gr. 4 Veyron. Bad decision. Car was a pig and I didn't give myself enough practice before entering, meaning my only real practice was in the qualifying session. Qualified in 18th  and finished 16th. Would have been better except for an incredibly impatient prick (you may call this person vaffanculo) who ruined several races by pushing through corners, as well is intentionally sideswiping and ramming in straights, before spinning out on the banked hairpin and quitting on lap 6 (of 13). Overall -500DR to 23800 but SR up to 99 for only the second time in my GT Sport career.

I avoided them for a while, but actually quite enjoy the FIA races. I didn't fancy racing on Dragon Trail (although I liked the car) due to the probably chicane mess, or Maggiore where my last race ended in a drop of SR from 99 to 72.

Looking forward to the Skyline race at Brands Indy.. had good success there with the TTS a couple of weekends back

Edit: and @Lebowski I am sure @Sven Jurgens was just joking :)

Gonna try Skyline at Brands Hatch Indy, live now:

Edit: some error happened, live again

Edit 2: I'm not ready for race, if not safe for myself, then, not safe for others - so no.

I am starting around 9-13th position against and A/S drivers, and I'm gaining positions each race, it has gone up by looking at my stats on Kudos, I am very close to A now. I could do another qualifying lap for a faster time but I'd rather start in middle.
As others have said: it's all about finishing position relative to other drivers and the statistics of those other drivers. Starting 20th and finishing 10th against a room full of DR exactly the same as you will result in a net gain/loss of basically 0 as you beat 10 people, but were beaten by 9.

Qualify harder, start higher and finish higher.

I really hope the next update comes with more balance for the Group 4 class. Going by qualifying pace, there’s a slight advantage to some cars but I’m having no trouble setting times similar to people I consider to be at the same level as me despite not using the ‘meta’ car (I use the Viper). Though come race time, I constantly feel like I have a battle on my hands due to the disparity in fuel and tyre consumption.

Dragon Trail a few days back wasn’t too bad, I still had to save more fuel than those around me in M4s and TTs, while the Vantage drivers seems to struggle a little too, but I at least had a pace advantage for the most part which made up for it and I was able to rack up a couple of wins.

This race at Lago Maggiore, though, just feels completely unbalanced for me. Going flat out, I’ll just lose out massively due to tyre wear first, then in the pits when I have to take on more fuel. If I try to conserve, I just end up too far behind by the time my pit stop comes around, with tyres that are still thrashed in comparison to the competition.

On the other hand, I do enjoy playing the role of the underdog... but I’d much rather be in contention without having to change cars.
A friend of mine using the Viper had the same problems. I experienced it in Willow Springs once that the left front tire of the Viper completely gave out after half the race, almost three quarters of the tire wear indication bar thingy were red.

I don't really have a go to car in Gr. 4 except that I try to stay away from the meta which was M4 and TT yesterday. I used the Genesis and had a good time with it while being the only one on my servers. Tire wear was fine really and it lasted 5 laps on FM1. One 4th and one win (I am somewhere in the middle of B/S).

Only the second time? I guess this makes you a dirty driver .
 I think before I was more worried about finishing position, not necessarily dirty but not afraid of contact... now I am making a more concerted effort to avoid all contact now and sacrificing finishing positions.

Sorry guys, but two errors, first while first stream, now when I was leaving Qs menu - that one kicked me out of game even!

Anyone else with errors?

Speaking about Race A,
I'm not ready for race, if not safe for myself, then, not safe for others - so no.

I'm at work so can't check... I did wonder why the stream dropped though.

Really? Can't quite get the feel for the car and track?

It's great car-track combo, but I'm not feeling good, sorry :(

Ah  fair enough

Evo Race is very fun and competitive, got my Dr. A now finally.

EDIT:

Was at around 32,000 DR points, game lags out then my tv resets randomly in middle of race and I'm kicked to 16th place. Brought down to 30,000 and some points. What in the heck was that?

You smashed your SR down 2 brackets and got a DR reset.

Yesterday at Maggiore Gr.4 I raced the Hyundai as well (why not? :) ) and found it pretty stable, consistent. I set personal record 2:07.1 (ok, I'm only DR C and play with tilt sense DS4)

I like the Hyundai too! TCS off and CSA Strong and the thing is a rocket :)

I had a great battle for second place with a Genesis driver during my final race of the Lago Maggiore Grp. 4 race, he pushed me and my Viper to the limit but I managed to hold him off. He could’ve easily been fighting for the win. Perhaps it’s a bit of an underrated car.

I like the hyundai cars. They are seen as underrated by many.

Also quoting fast and furious Tokyo drift. You're representing me now. What do you think, I'm gonna let you roll in a Hyundai? Not cool for many people, but like it.
