I had a great battle for second place with a Genesis driver during my final race of the Lago Maggiore Grp. 4 race, he pushed me and my Viper to the limit but I managed to hold him off. He could’ve easily been fighting for the win. Perhaps it’s a bit of an underrated car.
At Maggiore I actually started 3rd but suffered lots of bumping from behind so fell back down to 9th and recovered only 6th :nervous: but the Genesis was really surprise

I've had good luck with the Genesis, I've been driving it more often lately and even got a win with it. I also picked Hyundai in FIA manufacturers this week. I'll probably go with Mazda next week since the Atenza Gr3 is identical to the Genesis.

l don't quite feel right driving the M4 though for some reason, even with CSA on. :)

Moving the brake balance to the front really helped me in the M4 at Dragons Trail last week; Maggiore's obviously a different track with far more radials, but worth a try if you're struggling for front end.

What's the general rule on Brake Balance? I tend to stick it to the rear most of the time (+4 or +5) but not really sure if it's making much difference. One area that I know made a huge difference was the Atenza sedan on Maggiore Centre last week which I put to the front (-4) and it helped massively.

personally i move it back until the car starts to slide more than i want it to on turn in (this is a disaster on slow corners) which usually means +2 or +3 for me. some cars are unstable to turn in with even 0 brake balance like the old viper road car that came out with the recent patch. for those i move it to the front

For me I like to have control of the car so I tend to put -2 on most FR cars, but the exception of Genesis Gr3/Gr4, GT86, Atenza Gr3, WRX Gr3 and Lancer Gr3 I put +1 for their rotation. With the Skyline R32 yesterday I had to use -4.

What I found is that it makes a huge difference for me in Toyko Central through the fast corners, the car is much more stable braking into those turns when set more to the front. On most of the other tracks it is probably better to set it more to the back tho.

It is quite interesting to see how TRL_Lightning changes the brake balance throughout the lap, although tbh I can't quite figure out the pattern:

3 through fast T1/T2, then another fast right but only 1, then 0 through hairpin, then 2 trough the medium speed left spoon....

Strange... so no real 'pattern' although I'm sure there is logic...

So generally... FR is minus and others plus?

Generally it's BB to front if the car is oversteering/unstable under braking, BB to rear if the car is understeering under braking.

First race of the night down. Brands hatch in the R34. Wowzers that thing is a slippery little bugger! I've noticed the cars always seem to handle differently during the race compared to qualifying. I knew things weren't going to go well for me when I saw all the SD/Bs, including the one who didn't bother to qualify. His pre-race comment was "rubbin is racing".

Never been a big fan of the R34. Much prefer the R32..... too many episodes of Wangan Midnight and Initial D I expect ;). After a break and a shower I guess I'll dive into Monza. Oh what a feeling....:nervous:

You have a shower break between races?

Looking at the Top 10 leaderboards at Monza, I'm amazed at how one chicane can dictate the meta car

There's usually an undiscovered car that's actually quicker than the meta car. But, you would have to be the fastest to to really find and test it! Even +.5 off P1 and you may be faster by car preference and not the limit of the car, so we usually don't see too many meta switches until one of those guys sets P1 in it, or if someone sets close to P1 and P1 tries it.

It's also funny to see one region have only one car in the Top 10, and the other region have only one (different) meta car.

I loved it last time... haven't had the chance to try it today yet though.

What's today's favourite then?
The L750R Hybrid and the LM55 VGT are popular right now. The surprising part is that there's a 908 HDi FAP in the leaderboards...

Yes I'm aware of that! My first sentence could have been a bit clearer! The post ultimatley is correct as no one should enter a race on a circuit or layout they are unfamiliar with.

It's muscle memory. After driving the same track countless times and then a version with a slight change to it, no matter how much practice beforehand, in the heat of the race muscle memory will take over.

Anyway it was just meant as a joke, I don't expect it will happen, and certainly will be reminding myself of the layout change every lap!

7:20 was very ZZZ

13:00!!

16:00 you braked too late

Jesus  what an end! You could tell the German in the orange and green Atenza was bad news since one of the first laps.

Man, you need to get out of SR/B... there was some terrible "racing" there!

Arrrrgle!!!! I can see what people mean about DR/B being dirty. My Monza grid was made up of only 5 DR/Ds out of 15, the rest mostly As and Bs. I was doing really well, worked my way up to 8th from 14th, then the ramming began. I was rear ended in the straits by at least 3 different cars. I was punted into the barriers at the first chicane twice (that's the second chicane for the usual track layout). Spun around and ended up facing the wrong direction once. These were all avoidable. I'm amazed that I only dropped 2 points from my SR.

Qualified a 1:23.996 at Monza
.6 seconds off the pace. I never thought I'd make it to the Top 5 with that time but ended up 2nd only to a Top 10er

"Maybe it isn't so bad"
...
I missed 4 braking points. Consistently

I'm never doing Monza again.

Got some more wins, another disconnect and another blue screen crash, strange day. Not totally happy with my qualifying time either, could definitely have challenged the leaders earlier, before the big dogs came on anyway but never really got the lap in. I managed a lap in the race just .5 off my best qualifying time on lap 12.

This was all Gr3 at Interlagos in my AMG, with the livery created by @DigitalBaka. 👍 There's a few cars that are good here too it seems, the Viper, Lancer, RSR and the M6 too of course, are also all running good times here. Maybe I'll get some more races in later on too, I don't know yet.
