I only had a few Daily races last night and was able to up my DR 2k and SR is at 94 after a weird penalty.

Going around last corner the guy trailing me cuts to the inside hard and going too quick for his line he pushes wide into my side. I don't get out of shape but buddy lost control and spun out, I get a penalty lol

I got hit on my inside while in the lead driving the outside line :/ and I get a penalty cuz buddy slide into me losing control if his car oh well

Thems the Breaks, I see it as if we are all subject to an unfair system it makes it fair for everybody.

End of night I Beat a DR A+ while losing to a DR S. Im good with that :D

Getting bashed around on/off track it's harder to get away from them when you've been totally thrown off your shifting pattern.

After a while you don't think about it so much and it allows you to do Hail Mary downshifts to keep you on the track when someone rear ends you often. Sure, you can go off and let them get the penalty, but while you are spinning your wheels on the grass or getting re-spawned, half a dozen cars have passed you .

In the engine it roars! When the Mountain king calls all his kilowatts home. Madness reins in the hall of the Mountain king this night . Yes, another run at Bathurst, and still no cause to start off the post with lyrics from "King of the mountain" :(. I came close to beating my Supra time with Herbie, but I just ran out of time, so the Love Bug and I started P12/20 of mostly DR/B and C. There were just the two of us DR/Ds.

Auto drive lets go just before Murray's and around I go. I kinda locked up at Hells allowing the guy behind me to get a better run up Mountain Strait and beat me to Griffins, but i was right on his tail all the way to Forest Elbow. The bug is awesome on the twisties and I wanted to cry because the car in front was such a road block and the cars behind were backing up and were loosing patience. Managed to get past at the Chase and did me laps. I climbed up to P7 and was diging the Beetles angry sound track. I stomped on the loud pedal too early exiting Murray's and ended up on the grass spinning my wheels... and getting re-spawned (see @Sven Jurgens :yuck:). Dropped down to P14.

I clawed my way back to P10 to pit at the end of lap 5. The meter was reading 0.3 laps left when I entered the Chase. By the time I was in the pits putting on a new set of boots, it read 0 laps . Filled up and exited P14 .

Again with the road block, but there was no precession behind me for a good 8s. I waited patiently and hounded the poor guy for 2 laps when he went wide at Forest Elbow. I clung to the inside wall and quietly slipped past and gave it some welly onto Conrod. I closed in on the cars ahead... Mr roadblock prevented me from getting to them earlier. Sadly I ran out of laps and finished P13 and wondering what might have been :guilty:. The Beetle was awesome on the Mountain. Sadly I wasn't 👎.

SR up from 94 to 99. Even with such a crap finish, all those Cs and Bs kept the damage down to a loss of 161 DR. Better than a kick in the head. Not sure what I'll go with tomorrow night. Maybe the 'vette... maybe the Porshe. I don't have an appropriate dress for the Viper .

Another day above DR 1 :dopey:.

Next Daily Races

Race A
Fuji International Speedway (Short)
4 Laps 12 Players Car(s): N300 | Specially Provided Car

Race B
Suzuka Circuit
4 Laps 16 Players Car(s): GR4 | Car from Garage

Race C
AUTOPOLIS INTERNATIONAL RACING COURSE
12 Laps 20 Players Car(s): GR2 | Car from Garage BoP: On Settings: Fixed Tire: Racing: Medium Fuel Cons.: x3 Tire Wear: x13

My prediction for a full on Japan week wasn't TOO far out! Better get to grips with Autopolis.

Can someone send a reminder to PD about allllll the other tracks in the game they never use

Autopolis reeks of Fuji. Apexless and endless, pointless, noodling, the pink floyd of race tracks.

Unbelievable! Fuji...again? 3 Japanese Tracks? Autopolis I understand but it's like a version of Fuji with a few more bends. So many in fact that I do tend to get lost and drive the wrong way up escape roads. Worse though is that the next 2 week's tracks are up:

A: Tsubaka N100 - of course
B: Interlagos Gr3 - 4th time for that very same combo in as many months?
C: Tokyo Gr4 - Does that mean the next two weeks have 6 tracks and 5 are Japanese?

At least the track selections have been so bad the last two weeks I've now got my gold medal for mission challenges and have only 1 track hot lap left to get gold for circuit (need Nurburgring lap, have all gold segments and silver lap...doh!). Then I buy Dirt Rally 'cause these Sport Mode races are starting to look a little familiar.

EDIT: Gr3 Daily B at Interlagos: 2019.01.13 / 2018.12.09 / 2018.11.09 / 2018.08.11

Did a couple A races this morning, seems like I'm a solid 3rd 4th or 5th :D

I qualify on tcs1 but to replicate that in the race I have to put it on tcs2. I know it should be zero but I just got it off 3 or more a week or so ago. I did get my 3rd ever fastest lap star at a time under my QT. DR highest its ever been, halfway to B. Once I get more consistent on the faster races I'll join all you ballers.

STOP using left stick and use Motion Steering instead. It's far more fluid and 'realistic'.
I never got used to tilt steering, it feels strange and am way off my own pace when using it.

Anyway, my secondary account had three solid races and its first victory on B today and is now C/S rated. I‘m a bit sad, now that I got used to the car-track-combos and would feel confident to race with my primary account I won‘t have a chance to do so.

Lets hope for a controllable decent car for Autopolis next week (which I consider as being set)

It's PD's signature combo. They just loved to put up that combo again because the microscopic speck brained combo man thought that everyone needs that race otherwise it's no longer GT Sport, when in reality everyone wants something like a Gr.1 race at Sainte-Croix C or a Gr.3 race at Kyoto Yamagiwa + Miyabi.

I don't mind this, Brazil seems to be being my showcase track for liveries since I've been doing very well there when this combo comes up!

I'll be in the Grp2 races though as can't wait to try the challenge of Autopolis circuit but this of course means new liveries are needed for the
race!

Just for everyone's quick reference, you're likely aware we're doing an article every Monday for the Daily Races. Each week we'll need a featured image for it, and I specifically look in this thread in the photomode/scapes forum for anything that includes one of the car/track combinations.

So if you're having a practice of one of the combos for the following week and feel the need to take a nice snap and drop it in that thread, there's a not-bad chance of you getting that image onto the GTP front page.

Yeah I agree. I don't hate the track per se, but I (and a few others, or even most of us) wanted more variety when it comes to combos, like a Gr.1 race at Interlagos (FIA 2018 Series S3 R4 flashbacks incoming) or a Gr.3 race at, again, Kyoto Yamagiwa + Miyabi.

Fair point, lot of repetition of late. More importantly though and you can PM if you wish to keep on topic but which idols do you think I should do for the Grp2 race?

Hello. This morning I awoke from my slumber to a hot cup of Joe. Obviously I turned on the game to warm up for a c race. Got the q time down below 03 so figured I’d see what the mountain had in store for me.
Mixed room. 2 a plus at the top with sub 01 qual. I’m feelin good starting fourth.
No familiar faces, and OF COURSE AS ALWAYS HAPPENS LAGGER Southerner BEHIND ME!
I don’t know what it is but one red bar guy has a penchant for starting right behind me.
Worse he’s in a stang, which is a very strong car up mountain straight.
Of course he rear ends me, he was back a bit at the road on the left, but I couldn’t be sure it was intentional.
Luckily I’m driving a yank tank (ty @Invisigoth for the term, love it) and I lose the inner banking, but miss the outside curbing.
Basically at this point lap 1 I’m still ok...
I figure pressure him and get away from the pack...Well I was not so lucky he decided to slam the outside wall at the cutting, and I was on the inside but lifted on the right hander because I didn’t want my race ended right there...Looked like he was gonna ricochet across and spin me.
So I fall in behind, but I’ve lost speed and the hungry pack of wolves behind is four cars deep with sixth right on my bumper...
I took on some risk with extra throttle through Mcphilamy and luckily pulled a margin to skyline and into the Dipper.
Meanwhile the one bar Mexican ahead has made good time but exiting onto Conrod he somehow spins off track on the left hand side (not ghosted) and I swerve to avoid him careening back across and pass with two wheels off.
Ok. I’ve lost the draft but now I’m in the clear back in 4th.
Third undercuts, and I pit lap five. I was unable to save much fuel though and get jumped in the pits.
Towards the end I was reeling them in as tire wear kicked in, but ran out of laps.
I could have had a podium looking at lap times, this room wasn’t like the ones I’ve been in so far this week like with tart butter on pole. I have no chance to podium against those aliens.
Now, if I KNEW what I now do after replay I would have barged through on Cutting exit, but I didn’t know for sure so kept the powder dry.
Gained points maintained 99.

I gotta say, today was a good day. So far this week I have been executing my plan of avoiding risk staying clean and staying on track. I didn’t even have to use my AK.

I don't mind Race B being Suzuka because it's Gr. 4 again. Gr. 2 at the new Autopolis seems like it'll be a wreck fest with how tight it is and how fast they are.

When the Mountain king calls all his kilowatts home. ..
Great now I have Hall of the Mountain King by Grieg in my head. :banghead:

Try driving Nurb with that in your head.

Totally off topic but did you know Daylight Savings Time in North America is tomorrow. In Europe it's on the 31th. And most parts of Australia on April 7. Japan and most of Asia don't observe. Nor Africa. In South America only Paraguay and some parts of Brazil observe. So confusing. Don't forget to set your clock and miss a race.

Well earlier this week I as other have been kinda board with the Dailies line up and I ventured into the open lobbies that can be a real craps shoot. I stumbled upon an even hosted by a GTP member @DesertPenguin , as part of his GTP GTS racing series that's very driver focussed. The cars are not BoP the power is increaded and weight dropped but tuning is restricted on a one make race event, this is similar to dailies where its all on the driver, no advantages in car or set up.

Its a once a week event with announced track for practice. @Pigems not sure if I want to invite you to check it out, I like the chance of winning :/

All drivers get a number and the series is recreated with livery logos and livery guidelines I like this cuz it really adds to the replays IMHO

If anybody looking at the up comming Dailies events is a little tired of repeats or just not feeling the combos maybe want to take one night to check out this really cool series

They have a points system for race results and save replays if an issue occurs it can be reviewed. High damage so bangers get messed up its well organized, the races are Wednesday Nights and thus week I took part in 2 races that were really fun and spectated another that was a really entertaining to watch.

I've signed up, but keep in mind you don't even hae to race every week, people have lives so the point system is set up with some leniency on that front.

I hope to see some of the Dailies guys at least check it out, I believe you can participate as a guest or something as I did if you sign up, DesertPeguin answers questions in the thread promptly and is helpful and curtious getting people involved.

Here are the liveries I made for my car :D to participate in the series

It is an 86 Racing Series using the GRMN

Thanks for the shout out!

Just to clarify, if you sign up in the thread you're officially a member and not a guest. Last week K3Tuning was considered a guest because he hadn't yet posted in the thread but I told him about the event prior so he wasn't exactly a random person joining the lobby. If someone joins that I didn't invite and I don't know them they get a nice welcome message saying that it's a private series and I provide a tinyurl link to the thread. Sign up/post that you're interested and you'll have a spot.

Unfortunately there is a mix up with the points. In previous seasons we would drop the lowest scoring week but that has since been dropped to count all four weeks equally. One thing I have included to help with dropouts is that anyone who has to leave or disconnects will receive the points of the last race position. This means if there are 8 drivers and one drops, he will still get 8th place points for that race and any following races that night. If more people join between races and it becomes 12 people, he will get 13th place points. This is good because if you know you can only make one race it's okay, you'll still get something at the end of the night.

Lastly, and this is a new development that hasn't been made public yet, but I'm considering dropping damage back down to Light Damage. There have been some issues with it lately in that damage alone slows you enough but pitting makes it exponentially worse. Light Damage will still damage your car for long enough to matter but when it's cleared you aren't entirely out of the race.

Feel free to ask me any questions in the thread if you're curious about all this. This coming Wednesday is the Season 5 finale and I'm working on a special endurance event for the week after but if I don't it will just be a practice week before Season 6 starts the week after that.

Did I bump him or was this a clean pass? I couldn’t tell at the time and I couldn’t tell from the replay, I went frame for frame and don’t see any contact but it looks like he gets bumped in the video. What do you guys think?

Edit: @K3Tuning Does that mean I’m not invited?? ;)

Is it me, or is the grip on the race C almost the same as the qualifying session? Not able to put race laps to 2:02.xxx, but feels like the grip would allow that. I just tend to save tyres in race. Race laptimes are between 2:03-2:04 in clean laps.

Did few qualy laps and got the time to 2:02.1xx. That put me in 3rd place on race. Got punted in T2 by espanjol havier, dropped to 5th, got 3sec penalty, on hairpin that opens to down hill, got punted again, kept my place but 2sec more penalty :banghead:

Managed to keep my 5th place and burn the penalty before the finish. DR up to 24.5K, SR down to 92.

Clean. Messy but not dirty.

Messy due to the other car misjudging space. They could have gone inside more to partially block you to slow down. But chose to open a lane for you. Then found it too tight and had to move out. I do this a lot. Not the passing. The getting passed part. Letting people by is a skill. Having said that the driver in front did very well to avoid contact, unfortunately sacrificing tarmac.

You sure are invited Bro, hope to see you there, I've been getting smoother hopefully I can at least keep up enough to make you look back going in a couple corners :D

Along with as many of the Daily Boys as possible. Great night Wednesday a little break from dailies

Maybe oh so maybe a slight itty bitty rub, nothing to cry about, not like he have to bang a dent out or anything.

E- just kidding, my sleepy self did not realize you were talking about another thread.

Bump, I’d expect nothing else from you ;) haha

Next week race A and B look good, not tried Autopolis yet so no idea what that will be like.
