Confirm.

After driving both for the first time today, the viper has the incredible ability of making the Cobra feel like a formula 1 car.

Still can’t figure out whether the viper resembles more a boat, a pick up track or a classic straight line only muscle car... perhaps it’s just all put into one :D but fun it is not for sure:banghead:

must be fun.. for some.. to drive it using a DS4 only... Who knows?

Might do some hotlapping Gr.1 tonight. Would have liked to race but unfortunately this tire change bug ruined the C race and A and B dont seem that great today.

Just done a race. Qualifying with 1.18.9, started from second, do pit without tire change and only fuel and get back to fourth. None has cheated here, so i try with map 2 and no pit now...

Despite this car being ridiculous, I made a challenge to myself. Trying to get as close to Enzo as possible. Still 0.4 away.

It's so frustrating watching the car oversteer in second gear at 60km/h with less than 20% throttle. Poor poor tire model.

Done my last race for today in GR.1. Get Bump-Overtaked in last round at the last hairpin. Loosing one place and finished third. Really unfair. Typical S/S. A few races and i can start my unfair S/S career too...

What tire set do you think would've been more ideal for the Viper race?

I think tires war is not the big point in the GR.1 race. You can do 12 laps without tire change easily. Without pitting, the fuel strategy is more dependent. You have to use a map between 2 and three, or maybe 2 and only short shifting, never tried this in this race. I started the first 5 laps with map 2 to get some space to the pack with defend, and then lap 6 to 10 with map 3. The last two rounds with map 2 or 1, depends on the fuel level. So many racers actually didn't pit and use a lower map too. If you have a pitter behind you in the first laps, the pressure is big from behind.

Well, no stop may be the better strategy but some fresh tires would still be a big advantage.

Yeah the dailies today are awful.

Do they normally put a lot of thought into the car/track pairings or is it randomized? I thought the Toyota 2000GT/Tokyo Expressway pairing for last Friday's Race A was nicely done. Yesterday's A and B were also pretty good.

I did two races this morning in Gr1.

1st race was rough on my part. I rear ended 2 cars on 2 separate occasions despite braking early. Neither time was T1. It felt like brake checking but still made sure not to advance position either time. Lost a ton of time with the second incident. That made my decision for me.... No pits. The rest of the race was clean. Ended up picking up 2 spots after starting 7th.

2nd race started with getting rammed through T1. I left the track around 5th and returned around 6th. No penalty. <sigh of relief> The rest of the race was clean. No pits again. Everyone else ducking off got me to second. I got passed for second on lap 11. Kept up pretty well finished third and was awarded second as the driver in second had a 2 second penalty at the end.

All in all, no complaints with Gr1 on Interlagos.

The absence of tire grip feedback and the fact the car spins in 4th gear at less than 50% throttle is ridiculous, yes.
I hated it at first, but I found putting the brake balance toward the front helped keep it a little straighter - it's quite fun once you get into it, but not the greatest combo from a hotlapping perspective! I think I can get into low 1.29 but 1.28 is very impressive with such a loose car

My DR goes the other direction atm, still in A but let‘s hope tomorrows races are a little better than todays.
Race A was pretty fun actually, it‘s all about driving a clean line and stay in draft, but some people don‘t get it, wreck you and the wreck themselves to. In one race somebody tried to spin me around three times in one lap and then caused a mass-crash with 5 cars as he spun and bumped into somebody else. I finished 3rd then  The other races also saw some crash kids but I guess that‘s to be expected at ovals.
Race B was a terrible combination, the Viper without aids is really fun to drive but I cannot be fast with it. Maybe it would‘ve helped if the brakes were better, especially for the first and final corner.

Ugh, Race A kind of sucks too. Not a good car/track pairing. It’s so easy for people to pass you. I gained a few spots and quickly lost them.

I don't mind people passing me, but this combination seems to reward people for nudging you just enough to cause a spin. :banghead:

The viper was enjoyable this evening I thought. I don't often stray away from GT cars, so it was a welcome challenge. The only issue is that it is a difficult combo and all too easy to get nudged, removing all pace from the exit of the corner and losing a lot of time - last race I was in 3rd, received a bump from a late braker and very quickly found myself down in 8th despite most of the grid lapping in the 1.31s and myself in the mid 30s. Tricky but fun!

Yeah, it’s so easy to get lapped that it’s ridiculous. It’s like your speed is being capped while everyone else is set to go faster.

Not sure if this is the right place to mention this, but it has to do with Interlagos race C and the Mazda P55 dominating it, I got the P55 as a reward on my alt account and the funny thing I found about it is, during the loading screen the engine sounds like the famous 26B rotary from the 787B but when you drive it, it sounds like an early 2000's Renault F1 V10 (more like 2004)...

Sort of like the Cobra, on the loading screen the idle is perfect for imitating a cammed up big block v-8.

After it goes on the track between the loading screen and the track someone took the cam out of it and at idle is no where near as good sounding.

I notice that,
Also when watching the replay my Mazda has a different sound than the others (don’t know if it’s from the camera each user selects)

yeah i had a an interesting race c today. i put it on pole with mazda, had a 3-4sec lead after the 4th lap. i went to the pits and came out 19 seconds behind the leader who didnt pit. i cut the gap by 5 seconds a lap and lost the race by 0,4s at the end. so i think no stopping is faster.

Lagos isn’t too bad. Tried it thrice. Lots of carnage, though. But if you keep yourself safe, it’s pretty fun.
