I spent a good 2 hours trying different Gr.4 cars for Tokyo today. Fun actually. Ended up with a satisfying 2:08.9 qualifying time. Problem is... Turn 1.

First race, knocked back to 6th place.

Second, knocked down to 3rd, and guy goes on to win the race after slamming me into the wall.

Third race, I won, but had to chase the entire time. Some people really aren't that bright. Blocking me on the main straight when I have slipstream advantage. If we take turns slip streaming, we might actually catch the leader????

Interestingly, someone crashed after the chicane and didn't turn into a ghost. I couldn't avoid, crashed straight into them. Lost 3 places, as I was turned into a ghost. Hahaha. This game sometimes makes no sense.

I usually end up bump drafting on the straight on Tokyo to catch up to the leader. They normally get it after the first bump and you don't have to worry about them hitting you from behind in T1. It's a worthwhile sacrifice in SR.

Tokyo on a Friday night are they mad ? Everyone will be having a couple of drinks and it will be worst than normal.

Hope it’s a good one tomorrow as didn’t bother with it last night either.

You missed out on some great racing yesterday. GR1 at Nurb last night was some amazing racing.

I actually enjoyed today's race because it's a different kind of challenge - all about reaction time when you realise you've turned in too early or are going wide. It can get a bit messy but all I can say is that I gained about 7 positions at turn 1 once...did get punted at the last turn though.

20 seconds into my first B race today, my wheel went ape ****. It wouldn't track straight, had strong force feedback in one direction and not the other, then it would change and be screwed up in a completely different way five seconds later. I think I bounced off a couple of other racers before getting my car off the track entirely. Had to quit the race. Resetting the wheel (unplug USB and plug it back in) fixed it, but I was nervous that it would screw up again in every race after that. Really messed with my head.

My apologies to anyone I ran into in that first race.

Had a number of races at Alsace tonight. On the whole fairly clean and good racing. However, why is it that ALL the spanish drivers I tried to send messages to using Playstation messaging, had their messages restricted so that they couldn't receive messages !! How strange, I couldn't think for what reason that would be for :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Did a couple Tokyo race C races, surprisingly I had no issues except a few paint trading on the onramp at the end of the straight. Didn't get punted anywhere. One race I was up against 4 DR S's, gained a fat amount of DR with that.

Just did a third one, started 2nd and was 2nd-3rd most of the race and ran out of fuel on last turn on final lap and ended up 16th, lost a lot of DR from that.

I did a couple Alsace races today, it's just a rather boring mile wide track yet the races were decent. The only exciting part was getting stuck between 3 1 bar connections.

Then I did Tokyo twice. Messy first corner both times, as well as first time under the bridge, the rest pretty boring. The game still doesn't like bump drafting so I took a few hits to SR there to make something happen. It worked, managed to get the car in front of me to close the gap, then waited for the right moment to get past them both. Only to start to drift off in lap 8 and forget whether I was supposed to brake at 150 or 100 for the U turn. Crash into the wall, lose the places I worked so hard for and get a 5 sec penalty. Finished 6th.

Second race I get haggled by auto drive, someone who paused the game with his car blocking the racing line going slow and I lose 2 places because of it, ending the only interesting close racing that happened. Then I drift off in the last lap, bored with the big gap in front and behind me and get two 5 second penalties from hitting the wall. At least I was far enough ahead of 7th to keep my position. Again from 12th to 6th, even that was boring. GR.4 on Tokyo, or rather Vantage one make on Tokyo, no more. Hopefully better races tomorrow.

Oh and I saw a wall rider, dunno what the point was of that since he had 1 minute 30 penalty at the end...

I’m doing B at Alsace. What’s a good torque configuration for the Lancer Gr. B? Or does that only really matter in rally courses?

I was in one of the Alsace races with you today, and there was a 1 bar car in front of us for about 2 laps. I inadvertently tapped your rear into a corner, but it worked out fine by nudging you ahead of the 1 bar. The same car on the final lap was lagging so bad he nudged me on a corner and I went from 5th or 6th to around 10th. I just don't know how people race/play with a bad lag?

I left it on whatever default was and had a decent qualifying time, 1:59ish. I think I ran brakes at +3. Alsace is one of my favorite tracks, sadly I was only able to get a few races in this morning before real life took over.

Hello guys-

Had some races in Tokyo and It was pretty cool. What surprised me the most is seeing people with a DR in “A” class totally screw people over, it was pretty nasty to see and even be a victim of garbage players.

Mostly it was clean racing, I tried the Vette, Vantage and Huracan. Vantage is fast but the Huracan has excellent stability, I achieved a faster quali lap in it than the other cars but I won more in the Vantage.

Its always fun playing with like minded people but as i said before, finding jokers in the higher skill level races sucks sometimes. Still much more good races than bad :)

Default torque is 40/60. I’ll think I’ll try the +3 brake bias.

Hello random question. Is there a loophole at horse thief mile? Top times are 45s I can only muster a 1.12 after 2 laps..surely im not that ****?
Edit...there is at around the 32s mark they cut through the grass back to the start line...holy moly

Had my best ever spell of results doing the Daily Race B and finally got my wins into double figures (10 from 225 races). Completed 4 races, qualified 2nd, 2nd, 3rd and 2nd and converted into finishes of 3rd, 1st, 3rd and 1st. A couple of races (the first and fourth) had a really mixed up grid of 1 DR-S, a few DR-A, and the rest DR-B/C/D (all SR-S). Was pretty clean up front, but a bit rough mid-pack. I found that it was very hard to overtake; you had to rely on the drivers in front making some kind of mistake by applying pressure. I usually only do Daily Race C, so was surprised how things worked out for me.

Tokyo race are called the mad max races for a reason (by me anyway). The track is like a wasteland when it comes to racing.

Racing with bad lag works as a shield. Sure you see the other cars move around weirdly but you can mostly ignore them. For some reason the lagging car usually gets the benefit. PD needs to fix the net code so laggy cars at least follow a plausible driving line and don't crash into other cars.

It sucks, 1 bar behind you means even though he brakes on time, by the time it's updated on your console he has already hit you, you get SR Down and get punted out of the way, while on his console he simply sees you missing the corner and ending in the grass without any contact.

I just did one race on Brand's hatch, was rather dirty in a A/S kind of way. Nudging off the track without SR Down. At least I got my SR maxed again after paying for draft bumping on Tokyo. Yet perhaps I'll tank it tomorrow on Bluemoon, see how honest dirty drivers operate instead of this sneaky edging people off the road. Another day of boring races :/

A is Suziki Swift on Miyabi
B is a 5 lap one make on Brand's hatch
C is GR.3 on Bluemoon reverse.

Blue moon reverse!? Why is this even a thing? Why is this track even in the daily rotation, while the Nordschleife is never to be seen? :grumpy:
And who actually cares for the one makes? I tried the Lancer one yesterday, even this promise looking one was boring...
And now another 3 days of Swift "racing"? No thanks...

Thats how you loose your players PD! Just bore them to death....worked for Bungie with Destiny too :ouch:
