Lago Maggiore seems to be a mess today! Crash kids everywhere. 🤬
And the strange part is, while these dive-bombers force their way to the front, pushing me left right and center, I'm the one who gets a negative SR while thy get blue S's? WTH? :odd:

And of course I had to deal with a dirty spanish driver again. In two races he pushed me of the track on purpose (In the second one, he must've been mad because I called him out as dirty scum )

Update: after I got down to SR A (Thanks to that spanish maniac), I'm back at S. Managed a 2:04,721 with the Citroen and got two poles in a row. Only one win though, as a polish guy thought he needed to dive bomb me on the last lap several times...

@Robben my time is 1:39.4 and then edge of top was 1:38.8 I think

Why I'm saying it that I had -0.400 in first sector right after posting best time - but then my thoughts went to that possibility... and dream stayed only dream :)

That Evo is really fun and friendly to drive!

Ah man, I seem to always be the victim of this too... I was in 2nd on Miyabi on Saturday behind a driver, I was just wanting a clean race so was just following him and chilling... then he swerved and braked when he must have thought I was going for an overtake... I hit him (of course) and I finished with white SR and he got blue!

Edit: I noticed in the past few weeks that Maggiore tends to be quite dirty now... it's a shame as I used to really like it and had some great races there.

Yeah, the rating system is flawed as hell. The spanish guy came out with blue ratings both times. But I watched the replay, he drove as dirty as it gets...:odd:
And Maggiore just offers too many dive bomb opportunities. Nearly every corner you need to watch out for Ricciardo wannabes :scared::lol:

Are you B/S or A/S? I find that it penalises me most when I am trying to gain... so some races just one orange SR will result in a red or white at the end... others who seem not to care get more lenient treatment. I dunno, I have stopped trying to work it out and just try and be clean now....

Wow. First race of the day, Race A, and it’s filled with wall riders. Started in 5th and got the win but you know something is wrong when the pole in qualifying is DR B. I finished the race as the only entrant with no penalties. Smh.

I just checked the daily A top 10 replays after I managed a respectable 1.30.086.
So not funny.

I think I ended up locking horns with you this morning also unintentionally with 2or 3 laps to go you were behind me and we caught up with a Aston that was defending hard and you caught up the couple of second gap I had on you.
After the banked hairpin we came out side by side and I was gravel trap side and we bumped side to side a few times on the run up to to next corner and I Stayed ahead. I was able to get by the Aston at the start of the next lap and make a break for it. I could see Carnage going on behind half way through that next lap.
I don't have the replay to check up on all this but does this sound like we were in the same race?.

I've seen some low DR on top times last days, lots of guys that I dont recognize from other weeks... I wonder if they are smurfs or people who have discovered new exploits

Bit harsh to be matched with A and B then! Did you get an ok result in the end?

Sadly because of the stuff up on the last chicane I ended up finishing at the same position I started.

The next race, the one I just finished was also a bit of a stretch. 2 As, 7 Bs, 2 Cs and the rest Ds. This was the Gr4 race. I was doing ok, passed a few, avoided the crashed cars respawing, then too much curb with my left rear on the downhill to the start/finish. Since I was due to refuel next lap I decided to get some new boots a lap early.

I was doing ok, was having an awesome battle with this guy. I did tap him once, which gave him a speed boost down the hill, then I caught up and we were both being careful to give each other room... there was many opportunities for me to pass, but I didn't want to take him out in the process. That's just poor form! Then some dimwit in a Lambo slams into the rear end of both of us and that was me spun out ... again! :banghead: Again finished where I started. :irked:

So not funny.

Did you see a lot of wall riding in at least some of the replays?

I was able to squeeze out a 1:28.330. I'm having issues nailing a good line through the first right hander and the right hander at the top of the hill after leaving the tunnel. I'm pretty confident that I can break into the 1:27s if I can string it all together. I haven't watched any replays for the Top 10 times but some of the lower times were very low and with a low DR rating.

Yes I watched 4 replays and all of them were wall riding.
Too bad because I have a soft spot for N300 cars.
Edit : I mean its not the top 10 times that bother me but the fact that most races wont be fair in any rank.

Bummer. I actually had a race with one of the Top 10 wall riders. After beating him fairly (he was blocking and ramming in addition to wall riding) he proceeded to call me a bundle of sticks and then asked if I wanted to 1v1 in a private lobby.

Not a bad day for me earlier, no rammers near me does help somewhat but a guy in a Aston (its bloody quick on the straights) did frustrate me for a while in one race. Finally had a shot at a win (got it too) after @nord_clane was not in the race that time to stuff everyone.

Strategy is interesting too, not pitting is pretty close to pitting in terms of overall time, if you are good enough to do it of course but I don't think it's worth the risk as you can easily get knocked about when going slower than other cars. Still it's impressive by the odd ones who manage it and get a good result, even if they do then get called a cheater for no reason.

Still in the top ten as well but not for much longer, 8 tenths to first (at the moment) is not too bad though, it seems PD always selecting Maggiore has helped me close in a little here. Still don't quite feel right driving the M4 though for some reason, even with CSA on. :)

Hmm, can't remember your name. Guess our fight was pretty fair then, otherwise I would portably remember you :p
But yeah, there was a lot of carnage in this race. I saved the replay, so I may upload it later if i'll find the time ;)

Btw, one thing that seems to be clear by now, cars that are painted in some chrome or flip flip color, are mostly likely to ram you from behind or the side 💡:D

I had to race against nord_clane (and a few other S/S drivers) a few times too. He's just too fast man :scared:

And I've seen @GTP_Sparks pull of the no pit strategy perfectly. If your good on your tires, it may be best for this race.

Yes, I just looked, the wall riders are at top here (EU). Well I assume the very top guy (who has an interesting name) is as he is way quicker than the others who are cheating but he has no replay available, I can only assume to hide his "better" way at cheating. :banghead:

I am a S/S driver and he's too quick for me too. A Greek guy got me a few times by not pitting and later on I beat him a couple of times by not getting held up too much (starting in front of him helped big time) and by improving and making less errors but it's pretty close, what other cars do (to you and them) can be decisive.

Thank you :)

But you got to know, that it's never easy even if it looks like it sometimes. Like today i was just a bit faster constantly. One big mistake and the win is gone. Still 100% concentration the whole time :)

About that pit strategy. I was thinking about not to pit, especially since the tire wear was really fine but i decided against it because i wanted to stay out of trouble and have a clear race track in front of me and pitted at the end of the fifth lap with the majority of the other players.

Also managed a few lights to flag wins at Maggiore before @nord_clane came and spoiled my 700-800pts per race DR recovery session

Someone tried the no stop in my first race but they were so slow (he qualified 3rd) on old tyres I closed the 9 second gap by the back straight of my 2nd lap out the pits and he finished back in 11th, so you've got to be amazing to pull it off I think!

@mthomas_95 you gave me a very hard time until lap 4! :) that was quite a lot of pressure :D

That was my 4th race today. Got to be enough :) Made almost no mistakes in theese 4 races and i like to keep it like that :P

Not a good experience at Lake Maggiore. People trying to divebomb at Turn 2 (and using me as an outside wall), Turn 5 and even the final corner ffs. I hit someone at Turn 1 but I slowed down instantly so I didn't gain the position. Also some laggy Russian purposely pushed me onto the grass, probably trying to give revenge for a previous turn but someone had hit me into him.

I like the Evo VGT car, thing is on rails and glued to the road.

Also, it seems dirty driving is on the rise even in higher class, drive dirty early to gain positions and make up the SR rest of the race. I think the rating system is starting to show its flaws.

I had 2 near-perfect races and 1 scrappy one, which is pretty standard for me

Trying too hard to get back into the slipstream, though still finished where I should've in the end.

Yeah i was watching the replay afterwards and saw that you had a bit more tirewear than me.

So there I was last night on Yamigawa. After qualifying third and overtaking P2 on on the second lap I was breathing down the neck of P1. He was able to hold me off in a tight battle for 4 laps. We both pit on lap 6 ( it was a 12 lap race). That is when the game prompted me to change tires...

When all of the sudden... out of nowhere, I double tap the the X button on my DS4 and press No refuel!:banghead:

So I leave the pit in P1 on a tear. I figure that I am now racing for 2nd place and, with 2.3 laps of fuel remaining, I have no choice but to pit again. That when I noticed the guy I was racing for 1st leave the pits early also after only a little refuel. He noticed me leave the pit and assumed that I was trying to try to finish on the one tank I had so he thought he would lose if he didnt also.

I decide to run the 2 laps of fuel out on fresh tires and change them again (short pit lane and fast tires changes..why not?) and splash and dash to the win if I am lucky. When i did pit again, I had a 7 second lead on first and my palms were sweating profusely. After the short pit I left about 3 seconds behind first in P2. We then raced like all hell with 4 laps to go. My fresh tires and FM1 power gave me a second per lap on the P1 and on the final lap i was less than a second behind him.

Coming to our final corner he slows down hard before the final right and I think he is trying to brake check me. I swerve left and countersteer hard right trying to prevent too much understeer and keep my speed up for a fast exit to the final straight. Barely surviving this maneuver, I pull away like a rocket and fly through the finish leaving my opponent in the dust....He finished 6th. what happened to him?

He ran out of gas in the last corner :boggled::ouch:

Moral of the story? When it comes to race strategy: Race your own race:cheers:

Wow what a great review John Crellin !!! From tears through sweat into the joy of victory 👍

One question: how could he see you stop pitting and reacting so soon ? By seeing the P disappear ? If so, he should have gotten way more fuel than you in those extra 2/3 seconds ?

Something else I wanted to share reading all the (complain) stories here: I thought getting into S/S means driving with the best drivers. But best means fastest and that does not necessarily mean most respected drivers. When I hear you regarding the daily races I am a little shocked about the lack of respect during the races.

Could it be that most people that are not into clean and respectful driving have only one goal: getting in the highest level as soon as possible. And therefore in S mode there are a lot of not clean drivers ? Is this the reason of that ?

If so, is staying in B level or A level not a better idea ? I just grew into level A. But have had no races yet with only A drivers. In B level and driving with only B level players I was surprised by all fair drivers and races. If A or S level is not that good, a good reason for me to stay where I am or even get back to level B ?

What do others think of this ?
