Another plea not to slow down before the finish to burn off penalties. Yesterday I lost my clean streak again because of this.

Arg... yellow flag was out, but, that guy slowed wayyyyy too much...
If you had slowed to match, the cars coming behind would have cleared the yellow, and gone screaming by at full boil...
loose - loose situation...

Haha, yeah although he was the pole sitter, he lagged out of that same race too =/ must be frustrating for him.

Why oh why do so many drivers find it so difficult to comprehend that after you've overtaken / pulled away from then, if the next driver infront of you is in a battle with other cars (and they're often side by side in the corner), you're going to slow down a bit.

this. If there's several cars directly in front we can all drive faster, but there's literally nowhere to go. Flash your lights all you want it won't make the track any wider

Of course not, he just takes the corner at the same speed which then hoofs you off. The amount of people with A/S level ratings who have no patience or racecraft just bewilders me

To top it off S/S level guy pit maneuvers me coming out of hairpin on long right hander (GR1 @ Suzuka), even though he'd missed more apex's then hit (on penultimate lap), I'm as far right as I can go (right hand wheels on right side edge of track), I'm 3/4s past him when he decides to swerve to the right . To top it off, I get the penalty!?!?!?

Luckily, next race I get my best finish @ A/S level (3rd), keep my 100% SR rating and go to my highest driver points ever 41k...

I had similar problems at Nurburgring GP yesterday evening. Only drove two races because of it.

1st race was 2 S/S drivers and the rest were all A/S except 2 B/S guys at the back. I didn’t have much time for qualifying so I started in 8th with a 1:57:4 in the Ferrari. Make my way up to fifth before I pit and all was going smoothly. Come out of the pit right behind 4th and he proceeds to block hard for a lap and a half. Swerving and brake checking the whole way. I finally get by and for the next lap he tries to ram his way by at every turn until he finally lost control.

Big thank you to @malevolentfather for clean driving and good sportsmanship in that race.

Because of that race my SR is now low S and the next race puts me starting in second behind 1 other A/S driver followed by mostly B/A drivers. You can imagine how that went going in to turn 1.

Guy on pole got away clean because I was basically a barrier. Got punted off and ended up back in 8th. Somehow managed to to get back to 2nd by the finish but what a struggle.

Like you said, a good portion of even A/S drivers have no patience or racecraft.

At the end of the night I still managed to gain about 1000 DR points putting me over 35000 but my SR ended in the mid 80’s. Hopefully that will give me a possible pole in todays FIA manufactures race.

Today's race is great. Hilarious is the contrast to Willow Springs a few days ago. My first PROPER time with Gr.1 Race C and I loved it.

On average, I’m able to move up 2-3 spots per race. I rarely ever finish last. Still, I feel the game gives me too much credit.

GR.1 on Suzuka is fun. I did 3 races so far, getting the hang of it now. It sucks to get stuck behind a slower driver though. The last race I got stuck behind a driver at the end of lap 2. Lost connection for half a lap when someone punted me in the final corner while I was slowing down enough not to hit the car I was behind. Half a lap later I was behind him again after the punter crashed himself. However since he kept driving to the middle of the road I didn't really get any good safe opportunities to pass.

By lap 5 I'm getting impatient, get on the outside on the straight towards the final chicane before the the weak left. I'm in front yet he accidentally bumps me and I go wide. Still on this inside, yet with him leaving me hardly any road I have to brake early and with no where to go let him go first.

I try again in lap 6 at the U-turn on the inside, again he's driving in the middle, not to hit him I get my left side in the grass, can't brake properly and overshoot. He goes by again.

We both pit, I quickly catch up again. He keeps driving in the middle yet at the end of lap 7 I'm on the inside at the chicane, excited I brake properly yet steer in slightly too soon, lose traction on the curb and go in the green. He drives by again lol.

Finally in lap 8 after quickly catching up again it seems he's giving me a break at the U-turn, slows down a bit. I'm on the outside now (viewed from the U-Turn), giving him plenty of room yet he steers into me at the weak right before the U-Turn. He bounces off and I stay in front this time and quickly make distance picking up another 2 positions in the race.

Almost 6 laps behind the same slower driver... I need to redo my qualifying time.

I agree 100%. I never get to start up from these days.

9 wins, 1 pole (FiA race). Never won a pole in a daily race. I'm always matched with faster drivers.

A perfect example of this happened yesterday with the Miata at Myabi. My friend and I were in a chat together. My lap time was less than two tenths faster than his.

Not only was I last, but I was last by a few tenths off the car qualified directly in front of me (which is a pretty big difference for those cars and that track).

It happens all the time for us. The game tries to give me way too much credit, yet I'm still raising my Dr because I usually gain a spot or two...

I didnt gain any spots in the lobby I was put in though. My friend finished third (losing one spot), and I finished 12th (last).

That's your answer isn't it? What DR score (the figure behind the rank) do you both have? I'd hazard a guess yours is higher.

I was really pleased to finish p7 is nations cup. Solid race, no big mistakes and a good quali lap.

Manufacturers was going so well until a major mistake on lap 10. I think I would have finished p4 without it..

Had a great time on B.B. today. Managed 3 poles, 1 victory and 2 second place finishes. Those were my tops....I won’t discuss the bottom finishes though....some dirty racing was going on. A couple my fault, but for the most part, “racing” with people playing Mario Kart

Its fun when someone is flashing their lights at you on lap 1, then with you both driving clean, you ease away leaving them a few seconds behind by the end of lap 4.

Driving my 919 around Suzuka is hard. You have to be very careful not to go off track, as there are some extremely fast corners and extremely slow ones. The slow corners are dangerous because you cannot accelerate AT ALL until you've exited them. Even then you still have to be careful, as I spun out on corner exits. The Porsche is very quick but horrible in the slow corners due to it's tendency to understeer. A proper challenge.

I don't know how your having any fun on suzuka. I have done 7 races now and I haven't got through 4 laps where I haven't been punted and go from 5th to 13th. This is murder on my DR.
I'm in B/S races 20k/99

I have done 6 races so far, have only been punted in 3 races which is a good day. I'm B/S as well, 29k/99, get matched with fast rooms starting in the back with a 1:45 quali time. I pick up some positions and finish 5th to 9th by staying on the road mostly. I've let some 'faster' drivers pass, then they crash themselves 2 corners later as they don't have a car in front of them anymore to tell them when to brake...

I've been punted so much in my 1300 race career, I'm now quite good at dodging or at least minimizing damage from a punt. Yet the penalty system is worthless. The same bad drivers keep coming back and I'm recognizing more and more names that should not be in SR.S One race a guy that crashed me a few times on Big Willow hit me 4 times in a row to finally punt me into the dirt at the 4th hit. Determined bugger. He was the only one with a red rating at the end, fled the room immediately with multiple people complaining about him after the race. And I'm sure he'll be back later.

Anyway after Dragontrail and Monza, Suzuka is heaven.

I just got punted in one race, hard too in the U-Turn, not an accident at that speed. The next race was messy at the start, made it out of the mess to 5th, then got disconnected 3 Disconnects and a game crash as well yesterday. It's been 3 months since release? When is it going to be stable. My internet is fine.

Update: Whatever was infecting your rooms, it reached here now. Bumped at least 6 times in the first half lap until I spun out on the grass, into 20th. I made it back to 12th, yet bashed into 13th in the end. Dive bombs at the U-turn, chaos all around, plenty red S and a red A at the end. I managed to stay in the blue. Destruction derby is back. I'm getting too close to A/S again I guess :/ A S holes.

And another very dirt first few laps, yet since the race is so long most people recover their SR. The lenient penalty system is encouraging this destruction derby first 2 laps. If it was a daily B 3 or 4 lap race the room would be full with red at the end.

Learn to stay on the track first before attempting to overtake I only had to actually pass 2 people, the rest were all wrecks or still going slow after a wreck.

Yeah I've actually had some better racing now. It was worse this morning I think

I started pole and on my first lap got 1:42.9xx
But best I can do in quali is 1:44.1xx

I've done four races at Suzuka so far. It's been a lot of fun and very clean to my surprise. Starting to learn the Gr1s real well!
Race #: Start to finish

Race 1: 16th to 6th.
Race 2: 16th to 9th.
Race 3: 4th to 4th.
Race 4: 11th to 8th.

only did the gr4 brands hatch race, all terrible, some races even got to second place, then made a mistake and lost like a dozen positions, and had to recover, dunno if its cuz of the pressure or somethin, its was mostly on the easiest corners too

got some good laughs tho, one race i was in 5th and the guy in front of me spun on last corner and ended up entering the pits lol he must have been so pissed

I raced at Brands Hatch today as well, probably 4-5 times. The first race was a bash-fest at the beginning but everything was surprisingly clean from there on out. Good fun!

Definitely saw you now. I just started behind you, then a car spawned in between us, then I got punted in the U-turn :/ The guy that punted me bump passed me again and then I was stuck behind him, until disconnected grrr. Second time today. Stupid server. I was 29194 DR at the start of the race, I wonder how much this disconnect is going to cost again.
-1313 DR, the game is mocking me.

Edit: That's better, 1051 back in the race we had just now. 2 more races to go before it's all done again.
