@nord_clane said earlier he was coming off better doing 1 stop against everyone else going 0 stop.

I always try the M4 when doing my Q times but every time on every track I can beat it with the Citroen (which is already "my" car for group 4)...

I can't drive FF cars any more! I used to use the TT (and Megaine shhhhhh) before but not after driving the Lexus for Gr. 3 and the GT for Gr. 4 I just get so annoyed waiting to accelerate to avoid understeer.
Don't worry with the Megane; I used to do that too...
Interesting with the Citroen though! Time to dust mine off I guess :)

Pedals finally managed to get it together for 1 lap straight; got a 1:40.440! I'm satisfied now :D

Sure, but the Viper is crap in tyre/fuel wear races no?
I can't go for a whole race without a stop, but only the M4 can do that. Other than that I don't have any problems with tyres as I can normally get them 1 or 2 laps past mid point if I need to.
If you drive smoothly enough, they are normally fine.
Fuel wise just don't push the accelerator to the limit.

Congrats! How is the A45 round Dragon Trail? I found it alright on Nurb GP, Brands Indy and Miyabi but thought Dragon Trail may be a bit of a tough ask for it?
It took a few minutes to get the hang of it. Funny thing is, I joined with about 3 minutes of qualifying left, posted a 2:09 or something like that and started 5th. When the race started I was ok, but found my groove on laps 3-4. Used a lot of brake at places I typically don’t in other vehicles. I’ll be back at it tonight along with giving race B a shot.

:D

I sorted my garage by mileage the other day and was surprised to see the Megane still really high! I must have used it a lot over a couple of months or so...

Yeah, I always use the Citroen now... it's quite wide and low, which makes cornering very stable and even holds quite a lot of traction when the tyres are wearing. It lacks straight line pace though... I think I have got to know it so much that I can squeeze an extra bit out of it, that I can't find in other cars without more practice.

You are too fast.

What? He left a whole car width space for the M4 and was then punted off twice.
Both penalties undeserved imho

Look at the video at 1:42, there is a driver on his left quarter panel and the OP is clearly squeezing him to the barrier.
If that is a full car width of room than I think you might be driving a motorcycle.

I'm not saying OP squeezed him intentionally, but when you drive without radar and somebody is very close to you, this is what happens.

I just tried the Citroen; was able to trim my time further to 1:40.405 (2nd time around. My first time in it is a .527)
I can say it's just about as fast as the M4 :) I noticed that yeah, it lacks straight line pace, but high speed corners are its forte

TheGeologist mentioned around here that whenever he pits it's almost always close to empty. I'm not sure if it's Gr. 3 or Gr. 4, but does that happen to you? I'm quite interested with its fuel economy

You bastard   thanks for checking though, means I can be confident in it going in to tonight's race... despite inevitably having a longer pit stop

On the 'when do you shift' thread there is some info about the Viper's fuel consumption being poor due to it being a V10 NA...

Nope not enough though :nervous: was good only for 4th place

No problem

Makes sense. Thanks for the info :)

The race was a disaster :indiff: 4th, and then after an accident I dropped down to 10th. Was able to climb my way back up to 4th again but some off-track penalties saw me drop down to 6th :grumpy:

Ouch... however, you are racing in the very top bracket so even 6th is a good result :) you are just clinging on to S though
Haha thanks :)
Next race is much better though- was able to up my position to 3rd :D (started 4th again though)
Was second for the second half of the race, but a last minute mistake gave me a 5 second penalty :(

I think low S is my limit :(

EDIT: Now I have a 1:40.072 SO CLOSE TO THAT COVETED 1:39

Is it the N400 time there? The date is right I guess, better time than I thought

Edit: Also! Are all these times purely qualifying times for sport mode? So with BoP and no tuning? Might make it my mission to get top 100 in uk in every race/group combination

 excellent time!

Car settings? Wheel or controller?

Edit: actually just noticed how close our times are  fine margins too, as between the .475 (30 in the UK) and .411 (17 in UK) there are 13 people!

You are correct: All these times are from sport mode with BoP and without Tuning.

I find I'm pitting more to even out tyre usage rather than fuel. Because I need to refuel may as well do it nearer to half way +- 1 lap

Thanks

After two hours of qualifying, the best I managed is 1:40.739 :banghead: the faulty gas pedal on my G29 isn't helping either with its jittering to 50% at full throttle. That's easily over 2/10ths of a second right there :banghead:

2 hours! I usually only do 2 laps before jumping in a race lol. Of course then I always start in the back and run faster laps in the race... Then another qualifying lap after a couple races when I'm dialed in on the track. My previous time for GR.4 Yamagiwa was
GR4 1:41.319 2,011 / 31,461 - 6.3920% 238 / 4,559 - 5.2204% 35 / 593 - 5.9022% 3/6/2018 6:29:50 PM
I get bored after lap 2 driving alone.

It didn't matter yesterday on Brand's hatch. I always made up plenty positions simply by staying on the road, 1:14 lap times were enough for consistent top 5 finishes, even starting from 13th. The aliens up front were out of my reach anyway as usual.

My DR looks like a roller coaster ride, Monza, Bathurst, Nurb 24 and GR.1 drive it up, GR.4 and easier tracks to stay on the road drive it down since qualifying matters more for those.

I will be lucky to do even 2 laps. Either its a shootout or start at the back.

Yep, two hours, and I'm not even done yet until I get a 1:39  (I'm quite close now at 1:40.072)

Props for playing Daily races daily though! Whenever I know I won't cut it I don't play Sport mode at all :(

Quite honestly, I wanna ask so many more questions (Okay last one: whenever you pit what's your percentage compared to the others?) since it's contradictory to my own experiences in the Viper
But I guess driving style makes a difference :D

I'll make a note to look to tonight !! I remember times when it was lower than others and actually managed to overtake during the pits top.
