Just did the last race of Suzuka using the Citroen. I still shortshifted and all, and in terms of raw pace it's slower than the M4, but my total time on that race is 17:42.xxx, the same as my total time in my races with the M4. Down to the second. I think @Robben might be onto something with the Citroen :)

Civic for the one make.

Tokyo was pretty good, netted a couple of wins. Too bad the last 2 races weren't clean. I won the one before last with a 5 sec penalty at the finish carried from T1. Someone turned into me, I get the penalty and -3 SR for the race. Last race I got punted off in the last turn on lap 2, still made it back to 4th yet no SR gain, will have to leave my SR at 96 tonight.

A & B would be good:tup:

I just had the worst race of my life.
Blue Moon Gr.3.

Started 3rd.
Got a 3-second penalty for not touching the guy in front.
Tried to pay my debt.
Went to the pits and forgot to change my tires.
I was in 3rd when I notice I’d use all my fuel before the race finished, so I tried to save.
My fuel finished mid last lap.
Finished last.
Lost 4000 DR points or so.

Took to the GR4 race with a qualifying time that I dare not mention here:guilty:

Started 15th, worked my way up to 12 and felt I was going to finish to 10 (not impressive for u guys but a victory for me cuz it's the 1st time I went manual trans online).

The guys I passed clearly didn't like it and both put me off the track at different times. I received a penalty on one of them, despite being the car that got rear ended as I was breaking into a corner

Ended up 17 out of 18 as 1 guy quit. Otherwise, I would have been dead last after being rudely treated.

It's possible I would have finished last anyway, but I would love to have found out cleanly

My SR remained neutral, didn't go up or down.
Even being an S/S driver I can relate to this, it happens quite often to me  My progress also was too fast in this game, I now have 23 wins and I don't think there will be a lot more being added in the near future.

@JR98 why didn't you drafted past P1 after the start? :D

Why is Daily Race B a shorter race (time wise and distance wise) than Daily Race A? At least make the Nurburgring 4 laps for Group 4.

And it's a real shame the Mustang Mach is out of rotation after 3 days, when some other cars have been there for 5 days.

Yet another bizarre PD decision. 2 races on virtually the same circuit and as already pointed out, race B shorter than race A! Will not be bothering with any online races today unless the Nations and Manufacturers have anything to offer.

Awesome weekend all in all....

Friday night raced Yama Reverse 5 times. Qualifying time of 1:40.858 put me in top 0.7% in the world (226 of 31105) - my first sub 1% Qualifying position :). Was up with the big boys (door number was between 12 and 16 for all 5 races) and managed to finish 8, 2, 6, 6, 6. Even the P8 finish earned me 279 DR towards a total of 2736 for the night.
Saturday was the turn of Interlagos.... set a 1:31.968 which was good but not amazing (top 1.6%). Had two really good races starting in 4th then 3rd, a couple of Spaniards from ART up front then me... good battles and finished where I started. By this point I have 3 clean race streak (1 carried over from Friday plus these two races) and gained 560 and 710 DR respectively. Then race 3 I get moved "up"... me and the two ART guys are now pitted against a load of S drivers, I manage only a starting position of 9th and I think they had 6th and 5th. By lap 3 I am up to 6th and I have passed an S rated driver (who I clocked from the matching grid) and just concentrating on my race, dreaming of the DR I will gain until... the last corner of lap 2, I cut the corner of the curbstones as always, but this time (with another car just behind me) I cut slightly too much and get a time penalty - 5.7 seconds :banghead:. I carry on thinking about how to maintain my position and clear the penalty and then I cross the start line and it's 6.7 seconds, I reach T1 and it's 7.7 seconds! So, distracted by the timer and thinking where to park to serve the time penalty, I just miss my braking point and hit a car who was already passing through the turn (luckily it was only a small bump and he continued ok) but my time penalty is now 17.7 seconds :banghead::banghead:. So I stop and serve the penalty, in which time I drop to last. So, from dreams of a 6th place finish to last within half a lap . I managed to gain a position and finish 15 but, due to the race only being 5 laps I finished with red SR (-21 having checked this morning) :( and a DR loss of 993 (71 per position so at least I know everyone was better than me :)). Next race, in SRA, I start 3rd but with just 2 x DR A ahead and the rest DR B behind. Clean race, victory number 26 and SR up but only 7 points, so back to low S. DR gain of 610. Next race, same drill (start 3rd, victory number 27 but gain just 4 SR points due to a minor contact with another driver incurring 1 second penalty apiece). DR gain 479. OK, so next race I am pitted against a few similar AS drivers, starting 4th, but the rest DS... some absolute cock flies into T1 seemingly without braking, taking me out, I hit another car and get 3 second penalty. I limp on and finish 4th, which is fine... but I lose 7 SR points, putting me back to SR/A (and despite a 4th placed finish I lose 87 DR) :(. I race again starting 2nd, I want a clean race but have to be careful of the DR Bs and Ds behind... again some overly aggressive idiot goes to fast into T8 (? first one of the slow curves) bumps me off track and in trying to recover I make contact with another driver. I end in 2nd but lose 8 SR and gain just 10 DR! I am now a mid SR/A :(. End of night.

I think the lesson I learnt from this, after setting what is for me a really good qualifying time and earning two clean races, is: serve penalties immediately. If I had pulled over and served my 5.7 seconds, I could have finished the race lower mid pack and would have probably not had the other collisions which caused me to lose 21 SR points, so I'd have maybe got a neutral SR at the end or lost a few points but remained in S. By continuing and the time going up, distracting me, hitting someone else, I caused myself a nightmare and dropped into SR A and low S (which is a different world by the way to 99 points...).

So, I think yesterday that I need to recover SR and then I can start racing properly again... so I decide to do Race B (I will just sit at the back and get SR up), but I get matched with DR B-D... so I can't finish too low. And I hate Tokyo but I only had about 30 mins in the morning so it was the only choice. I start 12th and finish 8th but lose 2 SR and 500 DR . Good plan Robben...

Evening was better... did some practice on Suzuka and then entered some races starting 6th and 4th, finishing 3rd and 2nd. Due to being SR/A and low S, I was amongst mixed grids so only gained 570 and 220 DR. But now I am back up to SR 99 after gaining 14 and 16 SR points in the two races. Confidently I enter another race, to be given grid 20 (changed to 19 after someone dropped out) and door number 20  thanks guys... I finished 16th after a few guys spun out but lost 520 DR - just 34 per position, so I'm against people a LOT better than me... I don't enter again for the night.

Wow... I have rambled :O

tl;dr - set some good qualifying times, had some really good races, had some really bad races, but overall good weekend gaining 3500 DR :) over 40000 now :D

Edit: also, in the 3 Interlagos races before being relegated to mixed grids, I was the only Lexus in all 3 races :D amongst seas of 911s. I think in those 3 races, there was perhaps 1 Corvette, 2 AMG and 1 guy in a Vantage.

Indeed.. I wish they followed it up with a Dodge Challenger onemake race.. Hoping to see that race happen soon..

Might take the Civic for a spin and see how it goes. Had fun with the Mustang on that Blue Moon layout..

Very nice report:tup:

What i did during the weekend rewarded me with DR +552 only:D

My Lord, that's impressive. Congrats.

I love these forums but I get so intimidated when i see the accomplishments of guys like u and Alpha Cipher.

I would kill to to just end up in the top 10.

I thought I'd finish 5th a couple days ago at Blue Moon Infield with the Mach 1. But, the guy I passed came back to punt me like freaking Ray Guy (look it up youngsters)

Anyway, congratulations, especially for being brave enough to tackle that race.

Nothing to worry about the brilliant part about GT-Sport is that fighting for 12th 15th 3rd or trying to hit 8:50 on Nurburg is exciting, mostly because you always end up racing against yourself. Slow but surely you will get better and climb the ranks, but thanks to the games pretty neat matchmaking you won't be the fastest there either :-)

@JR98 why didn't you drafted past P1 after the start? :D
I noticed in the pre ace screen that the game said I had a very poor connection for this race so I tried not to get too close to the other cars at the start in case I lagged into them

Manufacturers cup has blue moon speedway gr3 on offer today stupid decision imo. Wasted a slot to have a decent race in

Congrats to your wins and thank you for the compliment.
I know a lot of lower rated people complain about having to race super fast guys, to me it's always an honor and the possibility to check my own pace when trying to keep up as good as possible :).
[...]
Surprisingly well-mannered races in general ... 5 races for me, 4 poles, 4 FLs, 3 wins :D.
Btw I wondered if you're a member here, now I know  ...
Thank you. I was positively surprised that one person wasn't angry to come up against a faster driver. I fully agree with you and also see it as a challenge to try and keep up with faster drivers, observe the lines and braking points and become faster myself. I really enjoy Mount Panorama (my favourite racetrack ingame after the Nordschleife) and I am fast(ish) on this track because it doesn't get boring for me and I am sort of a perfectionist so I always try to improve my laptimes and achieve 'that one perfect lap'.
You also have a very nice statistic for yesterday's race! 👍
I automatically have my GTP username in the message box before the races so that more GTP know who they race against :gtpflag:
Hopefully we will meet again and race against eachother more

No understatements ... you are FAST 👍.
I admit I got a bit jealous 'cos you managed to run at almost qualifying speed, something I could not achieve yesterday :boggled:.
Need more race routine for better consistency :).
