Yeah after finding out what that translates to. I rock a pair of Megane, being so short sighted.

I presume everyone just figured out Megane in Japanese means glasses?

I was aware of that from playing Hatsune Miku dance games as there is a song called Megane which is all about glasses.

Curious to know if the car kept it's name in Japanese market if it was for sale there or if they changed it?

I remember stories when Vauxhall made the Nova hatchback it had to be changed in certain parts of the world because Nova
transaled as No Go...

I know a bit of Japanese so there's that :)
The Renault Mègane is spelled like that, so the Japanese probably know that the pronunciation is different. It's also a pretty mundane word by itself, just like Lancer, Civic, and Skyline, so no need to change its name

Fair point, I just finished making my Haruhi livery Megane so I hope I can post my 20th victory from the Monza race soon.

Now that you mentioned the Japanese pronunciation of Megane I can't take it off my head, especially that I wear them. AGH!

My work here is done .

Monza was surprisingly kind to me. I qualified top in my class (all 2 of us) in P13. The grid was all DR/B and C with just the two of us sad little Ds.

I kept my nose clean and found myself in P3 by the end of the first lap. I maintained that for another lap and could see P4's gap getting smaller and smaller and kept half an eye on the radar. when I saw him coming up faster than me, I knew that I could reach the chicane before him, but that he was faster through the chicane, so I moved aside and braked a bit early for the chicane so he could slide by without messing with his line.

A couple of laps later and it was rinse, repeat. I wasn't going to put up a fight with someone who was obviously faster. I maintained a 4-5s gap on the guy behind me then either I was getting too cautious trying to not get penalties on the chicanes or he suddenly found a sudden burst of speed (maybe changed the fuel map?) but he caught up to me on the final lap. Rinse, repeat. By race end only 4 of us in the top 14 didn't have a red dot. The result:

Bumped up to DR/C and SR back to 99 . Another day above DR 1 :D.

Seems like the A+ driver starting in 10th got reset after that race, respect for our fallen soldier, that driver even had 75000 had one point looking on Kudos
Yup as I remember. Raced with him a few times and he was fast. Don’t know what happened to him. :boggled:

Raced onc more race c started at 10. Finished at 3rd without clean race bonus this time.:D I got 1s penalty from back bump. Luckily I didn’t touch the front car. 👍 Next I came up with a redyellowred guy that try to block cars behind everywhere on the track. Saw his Sr was down to B from S after race. Why always redyellowred:banghead:

Ended today with Sr 99 and gained 500 Dr.:gtpflag:Good luck mate

Some friends dragged me into racing at Dragon Trail yesterday, managed to get a low 38 as a q-time for the first few races with the AMG. First race was carnage and I got punted off by some guy who I couldn‘t avoid to crash into after he tried to drift the busstop; he purposely wrecked me off in the first chicane a lap later 🤬 Cost me 1k DR. The next two races were better as I won them both and had good fun, almost recovered the DR loss. I improved my time to a high 37 but unfortunately everything after that was just a wreckfest and having my AMG raped by Toyotas :dunce: got shunted down to SR81 and thereby was gifted another easy win and one I really had to fight an awesome battle for :dopey: Sadly sitting at +60k DR doesn‘t really is an advantage when you finish 4th or lower... At least im back at SR99.
Right before the last race I did I managed to get a 1:37.369 done tho, wish I had that one earlier :ouch:
Met @iFuriousRacer and @GOTMAXPOWER along the way

TL;DR: 4 wins, -1700DR
I wish there were other options than the Toyota but it's so much quicker than anything I want to drive there is no choice. I think my first lap in the Supra was half a second ahead of my pace in the Audi.

I was doing 37s in the FT1 in an earlier group 3 daily at dragon trail. Which is admittedly still a toyota but I think I could probably get near it with the corvette too. I like the FT1 because it makes the chicane fairly trivial

Plenty of cars can get good times at dragon trail, Toyota was just the meta as it seems to be on all tracks at the moment, I predict a BOP nerf end of the month.

I was in the low 1.37s with RSR

I don't understand, with Monza, why we've only had the option for the chicane-less circuit a couple of times. Granted it's not as authentic but it is a lot more SR friendly, I stop short of claiming other drivers are stupid or can't drive because that 1st chicane can be approached in different ways but is so narrow on the turn it catches people out, particularly because you are going from flat out to 30-50 mph in a matter of seconds. You only need a handful of cars with different braking points and it all goes belly up.

The 2nd chicane at least allows for more flow through it.

Here is one of my 3 races from yesterday at Suzuka in GT500. Room was a mix between A+ and A drivers.
I started P8, went off track at Spoon 2 and I missed my braking point just before the chicane, I pushed off the driver just ahead, waited for the 10s penalty to flash on my screen, but I just had 2s. I decided to brake longer than I should have and wait for the guy to take back his position. And all this in lap 1. So I started lap 2 at last and at this moment my goal was to take back my original position (P8) before the finish line... Enjoy

You are fair. Hats off. And watching the video, I have to say you are also fast. And brave too, you were quite close to the ones in front sometimes.
I enjoyed watching and getting back some hope that there's also fair drivers out there, not just ... morally challenged hotlapper kids.

Oh my, went from S to A SR the other day racing the Gr.4s around the Ring GP circuit, pretty much though penalties I absolutely did not deserve, so don't know why I thought a race around Monza would be any better. Grid start, no first chicane and all the same cars was just mayhem in the A SR lobby.

I thought I'd be able to keep it clean for the 10 laps and just build my SR up, but I got a massive 10 second penalty for someone briefly brake checking me going round the first corner, then a 5 second for being sandwiched between 2 cars going into the braking for the 3rd chicane, and then clipped the inside black and yellow donut on the exit of the 3rd chicane 2 laps in a row giving me a 3.7s penalty each time.

Much to my dismay I'm now an SR C and have no idea how the penalties were at all justified. 2 negative SR arrows for contact and just penalties for 'corner cutting' out of a full 10 laps worth of green SR arrows and I dropped like a stone. No idea how I'll be able to recover that and get back to the SR lobbies now...

Not many would of done that, good to see there are some very fair drivers out there.

Great recovery drive too!

Qualifying high up is not necessary. ;)
Indeed, all you gotta do is stay on track ,avoid bumpers and watch as people go through pit/ram into pit barrier:lol:

I've been getting robbed of podium 2 races in a row by people brooming me off in T5-6 after they overshoot and return to track..
They seriously need to start ghosting people off when they come back from gravel.

Edit: 3rd time's a charm :D
Started 4th, p3 brakes way too early at T1(clean in front), I break to avoid him, 2 cars behind me chain-collide and push me to into p3 guy, I get 3s , he gets gravel.

Sail around 2 more laps and watch p2 and p2 hit the sand, sail to the end. Every single checkpoint got me green sr, but that one bump ruins it all. All well, 2k dr isn't that shabby either:D
