Yes John! My goal is to be 2/3 seconds slower than the top 10 times. I manage to do that after half an hour practicing. That's what makes it so frustrating. I didn't know about the SR rating. So I have to be less clean? That's not my nature.
Maybe I have to try it for a while. Starting from the back. I'll loose points when I finish 9th or lower. We will see. It seems to be so unfair imho.

Too much dragon chasing has given me a headache. No drugs involved, honest.

Did a bunch of hot laps until I remembered what happened to my SR the last time I played this track. 2nd place can almost always be alongside 1st at this track by the 2st corner with the rolling start unfairness bug. Bunching everyone up for the 2nd corner (first real corner) and divebombers into the 5th is usually a recipe for SR down. 5laps isn't enough to recover from it. So decided to just hot lap, pity. 1.27.987 with optimal of 1.27.63something. 0.2sec improvement since last time. I know where its lost i'm just not that consistent enough. End result is a headache and zero races. I'm done until friday.

Well it looks like you gotta be faster then to keep up with your competition. That's how this is supposed to work, where you climb the Dr ranks racing faster and faster opponents until you can't win anymore :p
Then you found your sweet spot

Something is broken with the car numbers..
The last few days I have been in the car number 1,2 etc.. Usually way up there compared to the grid position and this is with real q laps..

Today, on pole at N24. Number sixteen on the car and ended up with my 10th win.. yep seems reasonable

If you have DR C drivers in your lobby that messes up the car numbers.

Nordschleife is one of the few tracks where I really enjoy hotlapping. Managed to do an 8:09.1 on my second full lap.
Hope I get time to race later

Little did he know then the bullying he'd later receive in the races

Also N24 brings out the full stereotype hotlappers. One of them gifted me the inside to the high speed chicane at the end of the GP section and proceeded to try and hang it out around the outside and, amazingly, went off onto the grass. 200 IQ racecraft right there!

It was a complete nightmare. In all 3 races you were past me by Turn 2.
I got dive bombed a couple of times, but I drove pretty badly as well.
I was surprised to make top split with only 26k DR.

Well, DR on the drop with only about 50 DR till the big drop back to my home. SR tenuously hanging on to SR/S .. and I race N24. I know, it's a daft move , but... c'mon.... it's Nurburgring . Tried the Viper, the 'vette and the RSR. Got the better time with the Corvette, but something didn't feel right. I think it's the sound of that big lazy V8 that's too hypnotising. Went with the RSR. Qualified P11 with 2 other Cs, 3xDs, and the rest As and Bs .

I screwed up the first corner big time and managed to get an orange SR without actually hitting anyone. So off I set about 4 places behind. I didn't have much contact with anyone. I came out of the pits in P10.

The second lap was a shocker. Mistakes lead to other mistakes and even with no more orange SRs, clearly leaving the track has a secret DR down that's not available in stores . I managed to get my act together after the Karussell, but it was too late. The penalties bled off at least. Crossed the line P8.

SR down to 80, DR went up by about 800. Another day in the journey that is DR/C :D.

Qualifying time of 1:29.070 on Dragon Trail, starting 5th. Lost the back end at the hairpin a touch, guy behind saw an opportunity to overtake while I was turning marginally slower than he was and squashed him into a wall, my bad but he still should have waited for a better pass. 3 second penalty for me.

Pushed off the track on the final corner of lap one put me back to 13th. No penalty, absolutely the other drivers fault.

Clipped the barrier at the bus stop for another 3 second penalty on the final lap, wasn’t happy about that one!
I was in that race, didn't get a chance to say hi

However, I uploaded a replay of the race just cos there was so much action, I don't normally but this one had to be done
Unfortunately, I got hit after going too slow on the exit of the first chicane on the last lap and ended up losing out on maybe a top 6

My quali lap wasn't great but left it in there anyway

Got 1.30 at DT, thought about going in, then my brain hit the brakes and said "stop hooman, you're 10sr away from reset!".

That Qtime would get me somewhere around 4-10 in dr B, but since it's sr B (read: barrel rolling through corners) as well, ain't worth it:nervous:

I never like Dragontail. Today race it still change nothing, but I learned alot to make some stable time around track :D

but still, I hate bus stop part.

Not competetive on race B. Race C is 🤬. Time I did something normal.

I had a clean race at Monza last night. Started 9th, finish 3rd. Got a corner cut penalty on the first lap, which was deserved, but still got the clean race bonus. First corner was nerves of steel! Lol

The difference between DR.B and DR.A is in DR.B slight door to door contact without consequences is fine, in DR.A a 1 to 4 sec penalty. Get bumped from behind in DR.B, no penalty, in DR.A usually 1 sec, can be higher as well. in DR.B an accidental bump from behind with no consequences, no problem. In DR.A 10 sec penalty. Also the SR loss seems to be 3 or 4 times as high in DR.A and points are deducted for any contact no matter if you get a penalty or SR Down arrow.

This broken penalty system was on full display in N24. I love the Ring so had to do a couple races. Starting fourth as A/A (thanks to NurbGP the night before) and have 7 secs of penalties before I even hit the Nordschleife from DR.B drivers trying to muscle their way through. Think I finished 10th, but after 2 races down to A/B. So frustrating as I want to race but hate dealing with unwarranted penalties through the fault of others. :banghead: They put all this emphasis on SR yet the majority of drivers (DR.B and below) aren't held to the same standards as DR.A. Someone please explain the reasoning behind this as PD seems oblivious to the problem.

N24 is heartless, you really need a Q lap and you really need a first corner tactic.. mine is down the inside line, everyone can see me, and that turn is slow as crazy, as is the next one. When i am there i find it rare that people will hit me, maybe it is because i am so easy to see..?

But i love that track to much not to race it i can not think of any track being a bigger challenge.., and i am pretty sure my deepest dive was on that track.. http://www.kudosprime.com/gts/stats.php?profile=1325966

Did not stop me from coming back.. again and again..

It took me three laps to get a 1:35.5 for Race A. I'm honestly am a bit scared to race though because the maintenance tomorrow may bring the FIA season and I don't want my SR too low to compete well. Given that the races with the GT86 started only first place in first gear, I know there is a possibility to gain DR, but it is almost a certainty that I'll lose SR.

Same thing with the BRZ, front row starts in 1st gear, was 0 for 4 until some Canadian blocked the field (can’t blame the brave soul), ended up winning from pole by over 12 seconds. Nice lap BTW

Well I never thought this would happen but I'm getting a little bit addicted to this game! Haven't played in such a long time but the release of Le Mans got me to try again and had such fun in the Le Mans daily race a couple of nights ago and I've played every night all night since. Approaching DR A but seeing people suggest that it's best to stay in B. Can someone explain why?

Penalties still a bit weird from time to time and still get the odd race full of idiots who literally don't understand the rules of racing but there are plenty of respectful clean fast races out there. It's nice to see people back off when they realise they have no chance of making a clean pass, as I do, instead of just chucking it up the inside.

These kind of drivers bug me because you don’t want to be the dbag blocking, but you also don’t want to end up stuck behind a slower driver.

I'm still continuing to race without qualifying. I did 4 races on DT in GR.2, went very well. However matchmaking only had a couple other DR.A to offer up so despite gaining 6 to 10 positions DR went down, perfect way to get ready for N24, DR.B shield engaged. (A disconnect helped things along as well)

N24 without qualifying is more tricky, so hard to pass unsteady drivers that are all over the road. Plus I'm now starting mid back field as a lot of people don't qualify for N24, guaranteed to get in the middle of T1 chaos. The first 2 races went fine yet the last had a dirty blocker. First I thought he was just unsteady and I patiently stayed behind him for the first lap while getting battered from behind by a not so patient driver. He blocked on the half way straight, ok understandable, most people don't know how to drive side by side in that section. Yet he kept cutting me off and blocking then on the final straight 2 more last second blocks to catch me on his bumper and it was time to teach a lesson. Sorry, you're messing with someone who doesn't care about ratings. I got right on his bumper, never touched the brake, bye bye.

In DR.B that only gave me 2 sec penalty. He didn't punt me in T1 after the pit so I guess he got the message. I quickly left him behind passing another couple cars along the way. After the race he was gone already at the result screen. The was the only race with negative SR due to the punt and getting used as a brake on L1, still only 10 SR down. In DR.A it would have been 30 points lost at least.

I'm dangerously close to DR.A again already, yet at 89 SR my next race will probably with the B to D crowd, plenty opportunity to shed some DR. N24 is the worst place for time penalties, such a mess with people serving penalties on the narrow windy track ghosting, unghosting and going slow on the racing line with all those blind corners everywhere. Fun challenge though, 2 races without penalties and the one, well he deserved it.

Ha! you can see me fishtailing after the hairpin and the Spanish guy right next to you when I got punted off, race over for me!

Yeah man, unfortunate the way it turned out for you. That mid pack was like a minefield

On course for 2nd place, but this guy had other ideas!

Do you use radar? I assume not, or if you do, you need to pay attention to it. You could have avoided that.

You tried to give no room to a car that was coming alongside. As already said, you would have kept the position through and out of the esses very easily if you'd just left a car width. (At the time of incident, there was just about a car width but you was still closing the door at this point and aiming at the kerb)

Even if you think in some way the other driver shouldn't have been going for that room (which he was fine to do), then you still could have not instigated the incident by forcing him to have no room.

There was just no need to put yourself in that risky situation by forcing him to have so little room.

Driving standard is embarrasing. Accidents are unavoidable.
And what about penalty not draining out in the finish?
(I reported the wrong player after the race, my apologies)
